That normally doesn’t happen. Make sure that you and your friend saving the game before leaving. If he doesn’t save the game all his stuff will be gone, so make sure he does.
Normally people can save. Maybe you’re friend should try to make a shalter or a cabin (You can save your game in that). If that doesn’t work then I also don’t know how to fix it.
no sadly the game dosent have cross play yet possibly next year it might just might release cross play but for now u cannot play with different devices on the forest
