This new case from be quiet! is pretty awesome - albeit a bit pricey. I typically don't like larger cases, but the Shadow Base 800 checks just about every box on my list. Let's build a PC in it!

I build PCs for fun as a hobby and the number of case fans and the fan quality included in the price of the case is a big factor in my purchase decision. Glad that you call out those details for our consideration.
And these are very good fans. I had some on my previous build and love them.
Its not a bad showing. But, the Lancool 3 Is at this things discounted price(lancool 3 $140) There you also get 4 decent 140mm fans, and just a lot more it seems for the money.
I want to build a PC on a tight budget, what parts need to be sacrificed at the lowest cost? I'm considering saving the budget on the PC case. Does buying a cheap PC case affect performance significantly?
All I care about is looks and color
Have lian li case with cosair Fan
plus the option for NO rgb's is the sole reason I picked this case up over cheaper cases... I will always pay more if it means gettin rid of god awful childish rgb's
Greg, I appreciate how honest you are about your sponsorship and still are honest enough without being rude or disrespectful to Be Quiet!. I also really like the case, but wish it included a few more fans for the price. Great video and a great build to showcase the functionality of the case.
Your principled approach to your “build/not a review” is much appreciated. Keep up the good work!
I love Be Quiet products. Best case I've bought for my PC was the Dark Base 600 several years ago, and it still going strong - Always nice to see the new stuff from Be Quiet and gives me idea's if I ever decide to upgrade
I love their stuff. Currently filled up my case with their Silent Wings 3, got a whisper quiet Dark Rock 4 and a completely silent effecient PSU straight power from them. Really good german products
I actually love how spacious it is, with all the new chonker cards they have I feel like it’s needed for future builds.
Very nice build. Love all the content and really informative, thank you!
Greg, I love your honest reviews about a lot of pc cases and components. Your channel has taught me a lot when I do another PC build when my current one is completely out dated. Keep up the great content!
Been waiting for a video for so long, thank you so much for the great video, good and relaxing after a long day, keep up the wonderful work.
Clean and sleek - love it!
That’s one clean build, nice video like always!
Nice case! great video!
it looks amazing! Really great
The entire build has great aesthetics! The mix of metallic colors with the flat black always gets me.
Yo Greg love the video!! I build pcs for my job and as a hobby at home. I’m about to do a hardline water cooled upgrade to my pc. Your vids are some of my favorite things to watch so thanks for them!
So clean build love it!
i enjoy your content a lot , keep the good work
Thanks for learning with us
build look clean, i love the paint job of that case
Always great to see another video from your Greg. Whilst the price is high it does give space for much larger components like gpu’s which constantly seem to be increasing in size
Just wanted to say that I’ve learned a lot of troubleshooting tips from your channel, so keep making these great videos 👍.
Thank you for the honest review.
Oh my God that build is clean!!!
This case is sick, keep up the content greg!
Love the video. Been looking for a case for about a year.
What a beautiful build :)
Great job Greg like always.
Looks like a nice clean case.
Very nice case when on sale!
I appreciate how simple but sensible the PC case design is. And Greg's honesty is always great.
I love this build 😊
I like this build and that gpu looks really nice!
Nice build 👍
Personally just when from an old nzxt to a 4000D airflow and more vents makes all the difference . Great video!
The week just got better! Thanks Greg!
be quiet! and Fractal cases are so nice
Love the videos!
Gotta love the start of this video with the mini peel away!
Very nice case
Only built my pc a couple months back and now you're making me want to build another 😂😂
Nice case. I love the fd graphics cards. i been wanting one for a while. So sleek.
absolutely love this case, be quiet are awesone
Thanks for being honest that’s why I watch all your videos my friend
Whoa - Just finding this exact case at Newegg on sale! They must have listened to you!
Your integrity is beyond reproach unlike few tech influencers.
That case is niceee
Sweet!
A good computer case will stay with you for two to three builds. There is plenty of space in it, put a nice huge fan in the exhaust in the back for a nice 13/14th gen EATX board. The only thing I would have different is the shroud in the bottom, make the glass go down like 2/3 and the rest shroud. But that is me...
Good stuff
You still made this a pretty build regardless of the extra empty space in the case. I should probably get some nice extension cables for my PC.
Love the vids
Good case
Good build, good advice, good case. Just too bad about that price tag. Thanks for video, Greg!
That's clean...speaking of clean, I should do some deep cleaning with my PC, even tho there a very little dust in it.
Maybe I'll do that after my upgrade this Christmas/new years 🤔
What a coincidence, I am thinking about upgrading from M-ATX to a larger case and was planning to buy a mid tower case but actually compact full tower like this one looks nice and not too bulky while providing a large space to work on.
that case is a beast
Looks like a really nice case to build in. Plenty of space and airflow too. A bit of a shame about the price. But overall, it's another be quiet! W. Great video as always Greg!
that black silver and red combo looks great
I built a new PC last year and I really wanted a Be Quiet case. I have seen them many times on this channel and really liked them. I however couldn't get around the price and opted for another brand.
Im such a bequiet fan boy. I love the content Greg. When can we expect a build using their new coolers?
Its a good looking case. If you can get it while on sale I think it would be fun to build in.
Like the case, even if it's a little pricey. Custom cables are a nice touch for the build, and looks great all around. Good stuff!
consider the silent base 802, also from be quiet, same size just a lot more features and far higher quality
@@lilspakk I just bought and built in a 800, buy the 802. This is NOT a $180+ case that theyre asking for.
About 1/4 of the standoff screws were already stripped. Bad QC.
@@Sercer25 thats what im sayin!
Money is no issue for me and love the company and their products. Loved the DX500 but will definitely buy this case with my next build.
Looking Purdy!
Its a nice case, and i like the idea of having two 420mm radiators.
Be Quiet is a brand that i have recently started to like.
so i want to get a DX/FX500 and the Elite aircooler to transfer my motherboard and other hardware into.
Looking forward to the next video :D
Dominator always looks good
And the case has great airflow when it's empty. ✌️👉
Greg, I want to thank you for your videos. You fix or flop series has been immensely valuable knowledge to us all. Yesterday, my brother's PC made a loud popping noise when he turned it on, and we immediately suspected the PSU. It was thanks to your videos that we were able to trouble shoot by testing other components to see that the PSU was bad, and if it took anything with it. Luckily, it was just the PSU and we replaced it, but your videos gave us the confidence to troubleshoot and fix our problem without having to take it to a shop. Your channel is top notch dude, thank you seriously for all you do!
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching!
@@GregSalazarhey Sir. Thank you for your nice Video every day. I love it. Beside that I got a question to you. I want buy a ryzen 7800X3D With thermalright Phantom Spirit and RTx 4080 Super (32,8cm length). Would you for that With a pure base 500FX oder Shadow base 800FX? Thanks !
I built a pc for my dad as a parting gift since me and my family moved to Indonesia. Case i bought was phanteks enthoo 719, thinking that it would last forever because of its high clearance. And of course 420mm aio.
I loved the "classic" Corsair DIMMs
Case definitely looks nice to build in.
looks sick! i forgot how nice the 20 series founders cards looked.
I ordered the white 800 fx...I can't wait dor Friday when it will be delivered🎉
Hey Greg first off love your videos they have really given me the confidence to build my own pc. Also as some one who is also married to someone from Germany I was just curious if you planned to teach your kids both English or German or just choose one language for them to learn.
Building in it now. You can put the power supply in from the side, then attach the bracket and secure the bracket with PSU to the frame. You don't have to slide it in from the rear. I plan to mount the AIO in the front as you did, but attach the fans on the outside of the fan brackets as they came mounted in my casae, with only the radiator on the inside. My fans are all black, but espectially with ARGB fans, mounting them on the outside of the bracket makes them look better from the front as the ARGB isn't obscured at all by the bracket. I'm using be quiet! Silent Wing 4 Pro fans, 140mm with a 420mm radiator.
A little Old But Love To See Those components together Love your contant ❤❤
I will say, even though it is a chunky case, there is so much room for activities inside of it. Great video sir.
Fun part of the day is having lunch and watching this video. 😂
Nice build. Would have liked a all be quiet cooling and power supply.
Great video, also using a be quiet case for my secondary gaming system, the orange and black it had like 8 hard disk cage’s which i all took out, all nvme nowadays anyway. And it still weighs a ton. So not sure it matters for most average users that there is no hard drive cage and at least it is still optional.
goat greg at it again...
This case looks pretty neat. Also I respect you admitting the bias due to your sponsor to not be able to give a proper review.
If I was going to get a pricy premium case it would probably be the Hyte Y70 Touch that just came out. That case looks so amazing.l with a really cool gimmick with the touch screen.
Price aside that case is beautiful. I would love to see a custom water loop or even a dark rock elite paired with 4080 or 4090 with white rgb. That would look classic! Thanks for keeping it real Greg.
That's a massive PC case! I would get the RGB version! I'm more of a Mid case guy but it looks sleek!
woo! I bought this case after seeing it at PAX West!
Should I go for an AIO or air cooling if I use my PC once or twice a week
Props (as always) for not calling it a review as to what you deem a conflict of interest. We all appreciate the transparency as it is lacking in our world today. I have a Corsair 400D which seems to do much of the same but at a lower price point. However, BeQuiet, once my wallet is ready, I'm coming for you.
Very clean build, if the price does drop I might have to nab a case for myself.
This case is definitely inspired by the Lancool 3
BeQuiet's newer version, the 802, does include hard drive cages (one for below, one above, plus slots for a bunch more), a nicer system for the sides to pop on and off, and a few other improvements.
I really like those red wires against all that black
Interesting design for the AIO
I'd love to get a case like this I bought a mid town musetek case last year that came with 6 semi rgb fans for $100 off Amazon but quickly realizing with a 3060 ti tri fan gpu and the need for a bigger cooler for my i7-1100k its getting tight so if I do come across the extra money I may have to grab the bare bone version of this case lol but love the insight and the build video and can't wait to see what you post next keep up the awesome work
The extra space inside is the main reason I modded my Cooler Master Centurion 590 and removed the 5.25" rack (NINE 5.25" slots) and added a custom-made bracket to the front, so I could install 3x 120mm fans (late 00's case, so many of the common "modern" features weren't there in that specific case. They were added in the next Centurion iteration and with the H.A.F. lineup).
Plenty of room to install a LARGE graphics card (up to 450mm and with some extra room), and enough clearance for a 160mm CPU air cooler. Sure, no PSU basement, subpar cable routing (there is _some_ room for cable management, but it's not the best), but it does the job after some "minimal" modding.
new case with older parts? i like it, looks beautiful
For the price range; obtaining the better quality case fans is a great value.
Well excited to see water cooling in this case.
Great peel at 0:04 lol : ) x
I enjoy your videos
Wow, surprised by the huge amount of space that's left. I'd love to see a build like this in white.
I like small mATX case but that some nice clean looking build
