I think it’s a lot better. It was originally supposed to retail for 130 USD which I feel like paying 100 for just 1 minifigure is so much better. We definitely need more of these sets.
At least your not paying $170 for it like people in Australia have too.
I don’t understand the one mini figure is bad thing. Like I get how people want to army build and collect other mini figures, but like, if it’s a villain mini figure how would it battle against a massive mech? Idk, I think the price is perfect for the set and as teenager I think one mini figure is totally fine.

I definitely agree with the designer’s decision on putting one figure so most of the budget can go into the mech
Has anyone else noticed that lego seems to be focusing more on bigger sets for teen/adult audience lately and im saying this as someone who appreciates this direction but finds it fascinating like 2-3 adult oriented ones for ninjago, dreams has 1 and so has mokie kid (well i suppose mokie kids been doing it for a while) i guess im just glad lego seems to be embracing the fact that a lot of teens and young adults watch these shows and not just kids because idk if anyone has noticed but has dragons rising had more of that oni trilogy combined with tournament of elements/possession tone
I think they should make UCS sets for ninjago. This and all the city builds along with the temple of airjitsu are a few sets that really couldve been under that line.

If only the mechs in Ninjago had much more of a story focus purpose than just being ‘something fancy’ that falls apart and replaced every new season with some new random contraption. Mechs should be more uniformal to the Ninjago characters, kinda like massive weapons. The mechs just aren’t ever very powerful in the show in general as much as the human characters.

As an older collector I don't care about minifigs at all. I've been passing on more mecha sets as of late because of downgraded poseablility.
Still a silly reason. There are sets with way more pieces and way more minifigures that cost less or just a little bit more. Also “more for adults” doesn’t make sense as adults love minifigures just as much as kids and it’s like one of the main reasons as to why sets like the Daily Bugle are bought. They should also just get rid of the price per part idea as it just ruins the quality of sets for the price you’re paying. Also, this would have been the perfect set to include the finders. I still want to get the set but it just sucks there is only one minifigure
Lmao how is it silly? Minifigures are probably the most expensive parts to produce. That’s 3 uniquely printed parts per minifigure, and a majority of buyers don’t buy for minifigs. It honestly seems like the best decision Lego has made in years.
@@supermanblackedition yeah but your missing the point here, if this set included Bonzle and Geo this would have been a day one purchase for everyone and they would have made way more money from the set because of it. Also, I’m pretty sure the Lego fans who collect Lego sets that don’t have minifigures are the from themes like Modular and the Star Wars Display sets. A Ninjago mech should include at least a few minifigures even if it’s more for adults.

I bet you the excessive number of minifigs is the reason that team combiner vehicle is that overpriced. That star wars Death Star set ruined Lego’s golden age by peoples obsession over minifigs.
@@supermanblackedition I understand, but they should just dissolve price per part as it makes sets way too expensive cause they add little pieces. For example they wanted this set too be have a bunch of articulation (which I love by the way) by getting rid of minifigures thus reducing the price. But in some countries outside of America like Australia the set is ridiculously overpriced even without the minifigures. Cause I don’t think many people want to be paying almost $300 for a Lego set that should have more. Also I will say it again they could have made a bunch of money by adding Geo and Bonzle.

Yes it’d be nice to see him doing something, but let his character do it’s thing, people have complained about Jay for years and this is the characters chance to be fixed

Im 100% getting this, no matter what the og cost was. Ive been a big fan of the titan mech series and was waiting to see who would be the next to get a titan mech. Im shocked seeing how everyone is weirded out by the white despite it being the consistent complementary color to all previous titan mechs (no one batted an eye when lloyd and jays were half white). I get the complaints about white not fitting cole but if you have a fully black and orange titan mech next to the other ones that are white/ninjas color it stands out. So hyped for kai and nyas mechs (no the samurai x mech from crystalized is not nyas titan mech and neither is kais climber).
As for the one minifig, I collect alot of mech sets to display and often store the extra characters, so having the one pilot is all I need (plus id give up minifigs for joints any day)

The budgetary reason makes sense, but part of the draw to the sets is minifigs...
Altho that set only has 1 minifig that cole look 🔥 imo
tbh i actually like that there is one minifig bcs it feels like an adult set like the starwars big scales those also come with 1 minifigure
I thought that this video was going to be related to a different controversy regarding Cole. This mech is freaking awesome and LEGO made the right call.
As someone who just bought the Kai Climber Mech, I would have prefered for non minifigures and little "jet" thing if it could have give arms and legs articulations to the mech. But I'm also 26 and all the Ninjago mechs/dragons I got, on top of some fan-creations are just a collection hobby. Proudly posing above my desk, so while it would be good to have many posing possibilities, it's neither a huge deal. And I guess we can also say that afterall, these sets are for playing, even if it's hard to believe considering some prices.
Bro whatever, lego could just make a geo figure and throw it in there and just absorb the price difference. Probably like a 50 cent decrease for them lmao

As a person who displays ninjago sets on my shelves, I get what toothdominoes means. I usually leave the minifigures out except the ones in the drivers seat and have to put them away in boxes. The exceptions being location sets. If I got this set (which I really want to because Cole is my favourite ninja) I would be grateful for the lack of minifigures I would need to stuff in a box.
I want them to just go all out on a mech or just all there sets frick the prices just show what they can really do
Yeah it's definitely a 50/50 like or dislike the choices that went into Cole's mech. But hopefully it will be a good mech.
while i really doubt that adding minifigures to the set would drastically decrease profits, this set definitely doesnt need them, nor would the fit in. in fact this set actually feels like its work every dollar. it feels priced very well, like they definitely could have made it 120$ but its only 100$.
(i wouldnt be surprised if lego thought adding a single generic minifigure that is in almost every other set would increase the value by 10 bucks tho)
now for a nostalgic tangent about older sets. from the image, the quality and price are something i would expect a few years ago when the 100$ sets was more common as the most expensive set in a wave l. today i would expect this set to be 130$

I was just sleeping rn and I Dreamed about ninjago and what I Dreamed might happens in part 2 so first of all I Dreamed that Lloyd and the other will return to Rontu and Egalt and ask what happend at the dojo Sora and Riyu will learn spinjitzu while jay is Looking for answers about his life before he was at the Administration

Yeah im fine with this, i have been waiting for a full articulation ninjago themed mech for so long, their mechs just always lack something + this price is good for me, after a few months ( or years :'333 ) price gonna be down even more. Now i just need a big dragon with both clothed wings that can fold in and the wings articulation :'3333

I mean a Lego set is a "set" not a minifigure pack
I'm completely fine with one fig sets as long as they are as cool as this one, even if the sets are smaller. As long as they are 'good', meaning that dragons, mechs, etc, have good posability (I hope I spelled that right), and can be displayed like an action figure. If you think about it, most past sets are one sided; Ninja with mech vs 1 dude with a jetpack... um... he not winning at all. I'd like to see more even matched sets, like the Beatrix mech vs. Jay dragon set (yes, it's expensive, but I love it). This can be applied to small sets too, like other Lego themes. Make a real fight scene that can be built and displayed.

They could’ve added 6 more mini figures ( 3 being exclusive) and a villain side build ( size doesn’t matter) and made it $120 or $130 , I’m just saying though so don’t get mad at me for expressing my opinion 😅
I disagree, it is better having the set be at this price with just the mech, as it will be easier for fans to buy with money from birthday and Christmas

@@chilflow ye, problem is that Ninjago is meant to be a kids show, so it has to be viable for most sets to be available for kids, even if that specific set has a higher rating

They would have to create a new head hat and vest mode for her taking money out of the budget made for the mech.
I think the issue is simply because of the audience Ninjago has built. Lego Star Wars releases $200 sets with 2 mini figures all the time ( in fact, they just released a $650 set with 2 mini figs) but no one really complains because mini figs aren’t the reason to by the set, the build is, as long as the mini figures are decent their won’t be much controversy about it. Ninjago seems to have done the same thing as Star Wars, it’s just that people are so used to 14+ sets having like 20 mini figs for ninjago. I think a second mini fig would’ve been a better option though (probably geo) but I don’t see it as the biggest deal
