This means that technically, the corrupted half of him died, and that was specifically what got revived. This is why his appearance is far more similar to Lord garmadon than Sensei garmadon, even including his 4 arms. Emperor Garmadon + Sensei Garmadon = Lord Garmadon

And of course the voice performances and dialogue are just incredible. The actors had so much chemistry with each other and Harumi is still trying to deceive Lloyd but you can hear the venom slip out from her dialogue every now and then. She's playing this deadly game where she's switching between caring and sweet to hateful and sadistic while Lloyd's actors gives off a preformaces where you can hear his disbelief and sadness but resolve to not let Harumi win. And this all plays out around the Mask of Hatred. There is a reason for this, masks have been a motif throughout this season and now we see why. All the 3 Oni Masks: Deception, Vengeance, and Hatred represent Harumi. And in this cave, Harumi takes off her metaphorical mask of being the nice princess and put on her mask of hatred. Not only does she put on the metaphorical mask of hatred, she also literally put on the Mask of Hatred! Honestly the Oni Trilogy probably has some of the best writing in the whole show and honestly feels like one of the most well thoughtout seasons of the show. Season 8 and 9 especially was just captivating in the best way, with some animation and unique ideas like showing the Ninja lose for once to convey the stakes and much darker themes and how dangerous Garmaddon truly has become. Harumi is probably one of the most despicable and twisted villains in the show, as she really is the antithesis of everything Lloyd represents, and I absolutely despise how much she physically and mentally broke Lloyd, which is probably a testament to how good of a villain she was, before Crystallised brought her back
Agreed. The writing was objectively the best with the most complex characters, theming, and foreshadowing. Like those seasons really went deeper than any other in the show, it felt like they were aimed at an older audience than the rest of Ninjago.
The Oni Trilogy is when the tone completely shifted to something darker, and I’ll never forget that scene with Lloyd and Harumi in the Oni Temple. Thanks for making this video. 😊

Hands of time is good. For like the first 2 episodes and last 2 episodes. Man the middle drags. But yeah Season 8 and 9 are top tier. March of the Oni is really basic though

There we so many signs of fore shadowing and seeing how Harumi is the quite one before it was official revealed. 1. She purposely dropped the Oni masks so the other would get it 2. When that monster interacted with Lloyd and Harumi the monster looked at Harumi and then stopped. 3. When Pixel suggested they lowered the ship from the storm she quickly said no so they would find out she is it. 4. She also had Mr.E place the bug in Zane. There are so many more, there are also many that Harumi doesent even admit too
Not to mention there was a huge moment of foreshadowing in episode 2 when Hutchin tells Lloyd “If you know what’s good for you, you will stay away from her.”

March of the Oni truly is a perfect ending for the show. Sure, it could have been longer, but despite it's length it still has a far better conclusion than Crystalized.
Watching this now made me realise that Lloyd and Harumi's relationship is much deeper, since technically Lloyd is at fault for the Great Devourer being unleashed, since it was him discovering the Serpentine tombs that led to him meeting Pythor, who then united the tribes, found the fang blades and unleashed the Devourer
Yeah, I always got the vibe that Lloyd only had half of the story when it came to the Serpentine. Since he was a kid, he couldn't fully understand the history behind it all. After the ninjas took him in and he learned about the Serpentine, he realized the seriousness of the problem. He actually feels remorseful for what happened and tries his best to make amends. And it’s actually I think it one of the books where it states that he does still have nightmares about this incident so meeting he still feels guilty about it. He just doesn’t show it on the outside a lot.

@@ASTERIKKX So in the earlier seasons Kai looked out for Lloyd a lot but it seemed that all changed at the end of season 8. After that point it seemed like a Nya thing. Especially in the oni trilogy. We see a little of it in s11, 12, can’t remember 13 or Seabound and a small bit of it in Crystalized
Seasons 8,9 and 10 were the best seasons for ninjago it showed how dark ninjago could get and it just has peak writing yes better than seasons 5 and definitely 6. Oh ya and don’t even get me started on the redesigns best destination the show ever made the villains were also great during these seasons even though the Oni were underwhelming.
You know what could’ve been cool, if In the Coloseum, Kai Zane and Jay instead of fighting a random Dragon they fight UltraDragon instead of It being killed but the Dragon has forgotten who they were and at the end it regains its memories and goes back to Ninjago with the Ninja, Wu and Firstbourne
Ninjago got that glow up since season 8 and improved efforts, smooth movements and high quality and until season 10 and starting at season 11 it doesn't feel ninjago anymore
The random moments of humor keeps throwing my off, but it’s so funny that it fits talking about Ninjago. (This is literally my favorite era of Ninjago and I’m glad good light is being shed on it)
Checking the wiki, there’s a rumour that the Royal Family was created after Wu fought Time Twins and made a crack in the monestary wall that appears to look like the Royal Jade Lillie symbol. (Time ninjago shorts for source). Which may explain why their existence was sudden if canon
33:52 Garmadon's whole plan was to get his powers back. He was trying to make the Ninja mad enough at him to lash out and start a fight, giving him back his abilities
Thank you! Completely agree! Ninjago was amazing during these seasons! March of the Oni too it was just way too short but still a satisfying conclusion.. after that the show really hasn’t been the same since
Here is a thing that I noticed. And before I get to Ninjago, I have to speak a bit about Power Rangers, because that part comes first. Lord Zedd is a non-human looking alien warlord who wants to rule the universe and an important enemey of the original team after he was freed from banishment. Later, in a story where he is not the main villain, he gets cleansed from his evil side and ends up looking completely human. He becomes the mentor to a later group of Power Rangers. Now we get to Ninjago. Lord Garmadon is a non-human looking (but partially human) warlord who wants to rule the world and an important enemy in the first seasons after he is freed from banishment. Later, in a story where he is not the main villain, he gets cleansed from his evil side and ends up looking completely human (though in his case, he used to look like that for most of his life). Garmadon dies at one point and later he is brought back - only it is not the one who died, it is the evil side that he was cleansed from. This one is an important enemy again. But later it turns out that even this evil side is not completely evil. And now we get back to Power Rangers, because that show ran the whole time but didn't touch Lord Zedd again, but now it does: Lord Zedd is resurrected - the evil side that he was cleansed from, that is. He is an important enemy again. And while we don't get to see it, the heroes at least hope that even this evil side is not completely evil and he will get reformed in his imprisonment at the end of the show. So, the characters have a few more similarities and also tons of differences, but the arc is almost the same.
Garmadon was in the cursed realm but after the preiminnt was killed by nya, the preiminnt was killed along side everything in it taking Garmadon to the departed realm
the oni trilogy is the best written trilogy in the show. the animations and looks of the show are peak to, ninjago will never be written and have that good of animation/looks like the oni trilogy ever again.
Dragons rising s2 so far though- the oni trilogy is by far my favorite, especially hunted and sons of garmadon, but dragons rising s2 so far is amazing and the tone in it matches the oni trilogy at times! Even the animation has improved.
I like season nines perspectives. Both groups had different objectives. The Ninjago groups objective was to defeat Garmadon and the other groups objective was to escape the realm of oni and dragon (imo the better plot as we’ve saved Ninjago 7 times prior).
i think that ninjago after the oni trilogy couldve been like 20x better if lloyd went with the 1st spinjitzu master and came back later with the golden energy back, so the overlords 2nd return and him being beaten made a lil more sense
I enjoy the Oni trilogy, but I kept thinking that they were going to kill off Garmadon at the end of "Hunted." It would have made everything come full circle because in season one, they both didn't want to hurt each other. However, with new circumstances, all of that is kind of out the window. Season eight and nine were times when Lloyd experienced a lot of innocent moments, much like Harry Potter, but it was also a time when he lost his pet owl, which was the first birthday present he ever received. For Lloyd, it was also the time when his father disowned him and almost beat him to death.
8:51 Not, really... This ones the best because one it istablished mr e's raw power (ignoring a certain bad charcter death) and also there was pay off besides "oh zanes gone oh no" Also zane actually looks like he got his ass handed to him for once with these.
14:25 The Preeminent is the embodiment of the cursed realm, Nya destroyed the preeminent and all the ghosts including Garmadon. In day of the departed, previous Ninjago villains returned from the departed realm which is where people who are dead go to. The cursed realm was probably for cursed souls like Morro and Chen. Harumi revived the evil Lord Garmadon from the departed realm. In season 11 PIXAL and master Wu open a portal to the departed realm and the preeminent emerged from the portal. Hope this helps.
Garmadon was in the departed realm because when Nya unlocked her true potential the preminent drowned and so did Garmadon and when people die they go to the departed realm
37:06 i’m so confused on the part where lloyd meets the FSM. He takes his hand which means he will go with the FSM but then he ends up alive im so confused on how that worked. Also this shoudlve been the end of ninjago imo cuz i didn’t really like how they did season 11+ and if lloyd went with the FSM this would’ve been the perfect ending. Still season 1-10 was peak and i love ninjago it’s my fav childhood show
Harmuis parents died because Lloyd wanted Candy in season 1 which leads to the serpentine being released and the great devourer to be revived. just let that sink in

Oh ya and don’t even get me started on the redesigns best destination the show ever made the villains were also great during these seasons even though the Oni were underwhelming.
I can definitely agree with s6 but 5 is a reach. I’m not sure but imo season 8-9 is the 2nd best 2 season run behind 4-5
The CITY has a mayor and the entirety of Ninjago had a royal family.
It would have been the best ending to a show ever
Yeah, it kinda fell off after that, but dragons rising is peak
Season 4,5 and 6 and also the Oni trilogy is where Ninjago peaked amazing time so nostolgic
2:24 That's the most wild sentence I've ever heard in a Ninjago review
2:21 that's not a president, that's the mayor of Ninjago City
24:30 it’s because the hunters have vengestone and vengestone is basically kryptonite of Ninjago (the ninjas weakness)
That was so cool! The Trilogy idea was so great
I love that it comes full circle: starting and ending at the monestary.
18:02, this does actually work. We see jay later hear Lloyd's "the resistance never quits" speech
NiNJaGo FElL ofF aFTer SeAsOn 7 😡😡😭😭
New designs are goated 🍷🗿
Season 6 and 7 were mid
@@lemonsaresour3212 6 was awesome, well the ending can be heavily argued
@@ivettrivera5306 hella inconsistent season
@@ivettrivera5306season 6 the writing makes no sense why didn't Jay do the last wish or the other ninja earlier
@@Thegrazy I agree, but if you ignore that the season is great lol
You know what could’ve been cool, if In the Coloseum, Kai Zane and Jay instead of fighting a random Dragon they fight UltraDragon instead of It being killed but the Dragon has forgotten who they were and at the end it regains its memories and goes back to Ninjago with the Ninja, Wu and Firstbourne
Ninjago got that glow up since season 8 and improved efforts, smooth movements and high quality and until season 10 and starting at season 11 it doesn't feel ninjago anymore
This is so good finally it’s getting some recognition
the big reveal in the oni temple really shook things up. Also The Flashback scene is tragic.
The random moments of humor keeps throwing my off, but it’s so funny that it fits talking about Ninjago. (This is literally my favorite era of Ninjago and I’m glad good light is being shed on it)
The Iron Baron has a throne made of the hybrid dragon from OG Ninjago and finding that out made me cry
“Zane gets ready to JFK someone.” excuse me, WHAT?!
Checking the wiki, there’s a rumour that the Royal Family was created after Wu fought Time Twins and made a crack in the monestary wall that appears to look like the Royal Jade Lillie symbol. (Time ninjago shorts for source). Which may explain why their existence was sudden if canon
14:13 In season 5 the cursed realm was destroyed which in turn led to Garmadons death, thus sending him to the departed realm.
Yoooo, Sons of garmadon is peak! I love it
I don't like how kai's and Zanes spinjitsu look like balls instead of tornadoes
33:52 Garmadon's whole plan was to get his powers back. He was trying to make the Ninja mad enough at him to lash out and start a fight, giving him back his abilities
Dragons Rising MIGHT be better than the Oni Trilogy if they don't fumble
They haven’t fumbled the ball yet but we’ll see 🙏
Peak was season 4 and 5
No, just no
@@liampemberton9320No season 4 and 5 will never be topped even season 8 is a close third to those
ong bro those seasons were my childhood and they are sooooo good
@@liampemberton9320ofc u don’t like them cuz u only heard of ninjago from that zane rizz meme
@@jacobs7593 I’ve been watching it since 2014. I’ve learned that the majority of this fandom are nostalgia blinded
Seasons 4, 5 and 6 and the oni trilogy are peak ninjago
19:12 still hurts to see ultra's heads on his throne
Thank you! Completely agree! Ninjago was amazing during these seasons! March of the Oni too it was just way too short but still a satisfying conclusion.. after that the show really hasn’t been the same since
14:30 "The Preeminent is the departed realm and the departed realm is the Preeminent"- Garmadon himself (I think)
Cursed realm not departed realm*
Resurrected Garmadon's character development is really well made.
"Zane gets ready to JFK someone" is not a sentence i wouldve ever thought id here
Hunted is the best of the trilogy, you can’t convince me otherwise.
2:23 😮 been a ninjago fan since 2018 but i still cant find a way to find season 4, 5, 6, 8, and rest of the 9 in fullepisodes for free.
There all on Netflix
Just bc someone likes the older version better doesnt make them "nostalgia merchants." These commenters really like to overuse that word
“You’re not allowed to have wrong opinions”
-this comment section probably
Liking the old seasons better is one thing, insisting that Ninjago "fell off" is another.
@@michaeltovah4 Tbh, it did fall off after the Oni trilogy
While I have nostalgia for the older designs, yeah, the new designs are good too.
2:24 "It's not ok to be JFK, time to get Lyndon B Johnson into office."
You frogot about the part with the ultra dragons skull as iorn barons throne
Garmadon was in the cursed realm but after the preiminnt was killed by nya, the preiminnt was killed along side everything in it taking Garmadon to the departed realm
the oni trilogy is the best written trilogy in the show. the animations and looks of the show are peak to, ninjago will never be written and have that good of animation/looks like the oni trilogy ever again.
Ninja go season 1-3 and season 8-9 along with 13 and 15 best season of ninja go
34:50 he gave away his golden power (the power of the 4 elements of creation) in season 3 after escaping from the overlord
36:46 Say what you will about Crystalized, but at least Oni Garmadon looked cool in that season
Zane gets ready to JFK somebody had me dying😂💀
i think that ninjago after the oni trilogy couldve been like 20x better if lloyd went with the 1st spinjitzu master and came back later with the golden energy back, so the overlords 2nd return and him being beaten made a lil more sense
2:21 i mean, there have been countries withna royal family And a president, like the Netherlands
Did anyone notice that the top of Omegas Stick Looks Like The Top Of Borg Tower?
0:16 I actually have mms….
The Oni Trilogy remains unmatched!
19:14 the iron Barron killed the ninjas first dragon ultra dragon and used its head on his chair
8:51 Not, really... This ones the best because one it istablished mr e's raw power (ignoring a certain bad charcter death) and also there was pay off besides "oh zanes gone oh no"
Also zane actually looks like he got his ass handed to him for once with these.
To be fair, Nya was the one who suggested to Jay that he should wish for the Devourer of all things to come back in Skybound.
such a W youtuber I watch every single youtube video even the december plan one with 398 views
kai’s new hair is a blessing
14:25 The Preeminent is the embodiment of the cursed realm, Nya destroyed the preeminent and all the ghosts including Garmadon.
In day of the departed, previous Ninjago villains returned from the departed realm which is where people who are dead go to. The cursed realm was probably for cursed souls like Morro and Chen.
Harumi revived the evil Lord Garmadon from the departed realm.
In season 11 PIXAL and master Wu open a portal to the departed realm and the preeminent emerged from the portal.
Hope this helps.
27:58 that one scene in s2 where they pick up zane and use him as a battering ram
the reason wu can sense garmadon is because they connect which is why they age faster
Still season 1-10 was peak and i love ninjago it’s my fav childhood show
My question is how r they able to cetch Robin but not the mail man?
@@InfectedEldritchBeing Tommy Anderson aka the creator of Ninjago said that the mail man was the strongest character.

It was one of the many things they retconned probably.
Ninjago s10 drawing intro don't make sense because only Jay and Nya know s6 events, how did Wu remember
They could have easily just explained what happened
Maybe jay and nya drew it
When i first saw zane dying i literally cried for 3 days😭
Ninjago is still super good, even their new designs is awesome. What do yall mean 😭?
Harmuis parents died because Lloyd wanted Candy in season 1 which leads to the serpentine being released and the great devourer to be revived. just let that sink in
Yeah, reason to hate him but not the other ninja.
Here's my ranking of my favorite seasons in Ninjago.
1. Elements (Season 4)
2. Clouds (Season 6)
3. Possession (Season 5)
4. Hunted (Season 9)
5. Reboot (Season 3)
6. Legacy of the Green Ninja (Season 2)
7. Rise of Snakes (Season 1)
8. Hands of Time (Season 7)
9. March of the Oni (Season 10)
10. Sons of Garmadon (Season 8)
By clouds, you mean skybound?
Similiae but sog I put like 4 or 3
Bro put SOG at the bottom
Bro s6 should be 3rd season 6 as the most inconsistent writing ever possession should be 2
The only thing good about season 3 is zanes sacrifice
I love the new looks the ninjas got
“but Lloyd is a sigma male‼️🗿”
Doea he realize the sons of garmadon intro is zanes death music as well?
