Oh my, Oh my Lee I would just love one of these. Especially after seeing your video. Its stunning and sounds awesome too! Great video Lee, thank you for showing us all this fab guitar 😊
Good review mate. I'm 39 years old and I still wanna be a rockstar! HAHA Just ordered a Lava Play for myself to learn with. Love the modern look and tech that has went into these units. Hope to one day play live in a pub or something. What a dream right? Thanks again.
Dang. Would have loved a side-by-side comparison of the HPL vs the spruce playing the same exact passage in order to compare the sound quality. How stark is the contrast? Does the spruce really sound and feel $300 better?
Sorry for the delay in my response. I'm currently working 2 jobs, alongside having 2 kids. You may have noticed I've only uploaded once this year, and that's why. I believe mine is the 36" as it feels about the same size as my Lava Me 3. I like the compact feel, but it can get a little cramped further up the neck. Depends what you're doing with it and how big your hands are, I guess.
I first bought the Lava ME Play, didnt liked it that much, the High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Sound was very closed in and flat compared to the Spruce when i heard it on some RUclips Videos, so i returned the ME Play and got the Spruce. The Sound is soooo much better. Much brighter, louder and almost like a normal quality Acoustic Guitar. Very noticable. Its absolutely worth the difference moneywise. Nice Video. Greetz
I got the blue lava original freeboost was thinking in going for lava me play but I should consider that I rather natural sounds so maybe it's time to save money for the sprude or I don't know of the blue lava touch it's worth
I have the blue lava original freeboost, but considering in moving for the lava me play or the Blu lava touch , But what I like the most it's a Natural not that much procesed , what would you be your recommendation for me
I actually have this product for over five years. I just recently got a white lava me two to add to my black one. The technology could be iffy that’s why I don’t like the ones that are more advanced with the cell phone type computer on it. I prefer the first generation better. These guitars are awesome took them all over the world they’re beautiful to play, and they’re my main go to guitar right now. They are definitely underrated.
Hey Edwin! I guess it depends what you want to get out of the guitar. I've never played that particular Taylor, so I can't give a comprehensive review and tell you irrefutably which is better, but the LAVA ME 4 is going to give you a lot more motivation to pick it up every day at home. The only real reason to choose the Taylor, as far as I can see, would be the LAVA's inability to take a soundhole pickup, which could prevent you from getting the sound you want in a live situation, particularly if you're a bit anal with tone. HILAVA is a great way to challenge yourself and connect with other musicians in a really interesting way. I'm sure that's not made the decision for you, but I hope it's helped in some way.
After watching your video on lava me 4 spruce i bought one only to find it will not play through an amp it does not work though a boss katana air so i tried a normal 10 watt amp nothing so totally disappointed its not the amps or leads as they work fine on other guitars
I have a question: I can't decide between getting a Lava me 4 Spruce and a Lava Me Play. I wouldn't have any problem spending those extra money if I knew it was worth it but I really can't figure it out. Seeing this video it seems like these two models are too similar so it's not worth to get a 4 Spruce. Any advices?
Honestly, I really like the Play. Other people I've spoken to say that the Spruce has a much nicer sound, but I like both. How advanced a guitar player are you?
@@leetownsend not very much. I've been playing electric guitar for 5 years but as a self taught and I couldn't be very constant with the playing because of university
It seems like a good guitar to buy, but I don't support and can't support Lava even though I can afford it, because I am a left hander. I am very interested in the spruce model.
Big mistake They make with the rechargeable battery, that only causes problems in the end, if you perform a lot you simply need a 9 volt, if there had been a 9 volt version, I would have bought it long ago and many professional players with me. It is simply not possible to replace such batteries yourself, such an innovative company that does not think beyond the front door.
Has LAVA become a reputable guitar building company? What would make LAVA disreputable? Because they're new? Because they make guitars from non-wood materials? No, there are plenty of ALL of those, and nobody questions if the companies are reputable. Let he market decide. Can't wait for Apple to come out with its own "i-guitar".
This company is the worst. Service is poor and the electronics inside keep breaking. I returned the guitar once only to have the same problem again. They won't return my emails
Sorry to hear that you're having thos experience with Lava Music. I've never had one break, so I can't comment on their customer service. However, you're not the only person to comment about this. Let's see if anyone from Lava Music can comment.
What I personality think that Lava should've 2 or 3 additional bridges for different action set ups. Lava should've done it, bridge isn't so much expensive to make anyway. You've to have creative thinking in order to be successful in anything. That lava additional Bridges would make lava better and would have much more customers too. However, latest Lava Spruce is my favourite with string gauges 010 or 011. That's why I've mentioned 2 or 3 bridges each would set different strings action also combination of string gauge and set up bridge action. That's a called creative and innovative thinking. Lava should take my ideas. My name is Tesla #2. People don't know me yet. I've invented lot of very important industrial important products that no one ever comes with ideas to create. Because of no creative and innovative thinking. As young i was first involved in art painting then i was 13 years when I've learned to play guitar and drums then later on become mechanical engineer. Work in few different engineering fields that helped me to combined those fiels to become inventor. I have vast knowledge about many things and some of that technology will be driving force of future himans progress.❤🕊️🌍👌👍👏
Read this it will save you money...Tesla #2 is here again. After seeing all video I've perfect ideas that will everyone agree 100%. Don't buy charging dock it's to expensive just buy guitar stand it cost 20-30$ and you already have charging cable. I actually have bought 2 guitar stands for 30$. If you buy Lava do what i said It'll save over 100 dollars.❤🕊️🌍👌👍
Oh my, Oh my Lee I would just love one of these. Especially after seeing your video. Its stunning and sounds awesome too! Great video Lee, thank you for showing us all this fab guitar 😊
Dear, I Want To Buy Lava Me Play, But I'm Worried About Changing The Strings, Can You Please Tell Me How It Can Be Changed

Will do this in the next video!
Nice video, thanks. Is your spruce the 36" or 41"? I can't decide which to get
Nice that he's replied to you. He gets free guitars and can't be bothered to reply to you
Replied to you though 😉

Now we know what HPL is so what's the ME stand for??
Hey I'm really trying to decide between the LAVA me 4 spruce vs the taylor gsmini e, what would you recommend?

I have Taylor gs mini e mahagony is very good guitar
I’ ve just got the me play and love it. Love the acoustic sound of it and its mid-scooped spectrum.
It's a great little guitar. I have to say, I can't choose a favourite, so the Play is a solid choice.

that spruce top model needs a wood saddle. the plastic saddle on there looks goofy.
How much does this guitar weigh?
Off the top of my head, I don't know. I'm sure that will be in the specs on the LAVA Music website, though 😊
It seems like a good guitar to buy, but I don't support and can't support Lava even though I can afford it, because I am a left hander. I am very interested in the spruce model.
wich is best?? The lava me 4 spruce or the lava me 4 fiber carbon???
I don't have the 4 carbon, only the 3 carbon and 4 spruce, so I can't say with any level of certainty
The charging dock looks like one would piss into it.
But there's no need to charge that up.

I can't find a single person on youtiube who has not been sent Lava for free.
They do seem to have a large marketing budget. However, the guitars are as good as everyone is saying they are.
If you dont have enough subs you get nothing.
