I think if he improved his decision making he'd have had world class stats. Hopefully the 16yo Yamal can take the reigns because I have little faith in Raphinha
Raphinha is a decent player but he's so one footed that if he could he'll probably walk on one foot. But he's very hard worker, great presser and sacrifices defensively for the team. Lamine will be a better player than Dembele if everything goes according to PLAN, which is rarely the case. His technical abilities and game understanding is beyond his age. For all the crazy talent Dembele has, until recently his brain was slower than his body.
Why exactly are you gutted? … he wasn’t Messi , Neymar , Suarez, Ronaldinho,Rivaldo , Judas Figo, Ronaldo, Romario…. He was a waste of time and money .. I am glad he is going
He wasn't really "playing the board like a fiddle". The board didn't even want him to renew in the first place - Alemany was public about this before his contract expired and said he had little desire to continue mingling with Dembele's representatives. The only reason he did stick around (besides the fact that no one was offering him what he asked), is because Xavi had become so enamored with him that he begged the board/Alemany to sit down and negotiate. In the end, they basically gave whatever demand he asked for because they knew Xavi wasn't going to stop pressuring them to. Even after renewing, the board were in favour of straight up benching him so they could not only basically tell him to fck off but also so they could try to get a sale out of him by next January, but Xavi ignored it and made him a permanent starter. The only reason the Dembele saga continued for another year is solely because of Xavi. It ultimately works as a net positive for the club - He leaves for free in 2022 or you get one last (half) season out of him plus 50m in the books. It is best for everyone involved that they move on, as this move should've never happened in the first place.
I suppose Dembele was paid less than 25M in salary in this second contract, so Barcelona got a year of Dembele playing for free AND earned some money on him. Good job by Xavi. It does not repair the damage done by the first contract, but you cannot undo history.
As a Barca fan, all the power to Demebele. It’s not his fault that he had to have a pay cut because the club was run so poorly. So inserting a clause in his contract that would ensure 25 million in the bank is smart. I don’t think selling him was that bad, as although he was great, he was far too injury prone and inconsistent.
Yeah at least we’re getting something for him. After the first three years at Barcelona and being injured pretty much always, I already considered him a disastrous signing. Three years of paying him a wage for being injured. If anything, I think psg are dumb. Now they going to have two wingers injured during the season. Neymar and dembele. I bet you that he’ll be injured 3 games into the season.
It was either this or for free last summer so this was good, we won Liga where he helped a lot for a much lower salary. I really don't wish him to follow in Neymar's footsteps but can't stop thinking about that it could happen; i mean injuries, whistled and other stuff like that are very bad for a footballer.
It could be that the figure is what he worked out was his pay cut. He and his agent were going to get the money they felt they deserved rather than the contract he excepted just because the club is burning money.
He got a pay cut because he did not perform well, was injured a lot and showed bad character. Most clubs are smarted than Barcelona and do not want to burn their fingers on such a player. PSG is about as dumb as Barcelona.
I am disappointed, but at the same time genuinely excited that we don't have to deal with him and Moussa Snakesoko's saga anymore. Time to focus on Lamine Yamal!
Please STOP the nonsense. In Dortmund, Dembele scored 11 goals and had 21 assists in one season at 19. That's not "potential". That's world class PERFORMANCE. And he never missed ANY games until he came to Barcelona. Pedri has missed half as many games in the last two seasons as Dbele missed in six seasons. Stop perpetuating false narratives. Let the player get on with his career.
That Pique quote was ironic as he later admitted to not sleeping much and partying often. Strange he chose to publicly speak poorly of Dembele's lifestyle. Bad leader.
Props to the man's agent, as for Barca sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and leave what appeared to be a somewhat toxic relationship. Even if your left with a few wounds, eventually they'll heal.
14:19 Idk if I would say 230k p/w for Dembele was a great deal. When you consider that Saka is on 195k p/w, Martinelli is on 180k p/w, Lewis Diaz is on 55k p/w and Bernardo Silva is on 150k p/w. That new contract Barca were going to offer Dembele would have been severely over paying for someone who always delivers a mixed bag of performances on the foundation of guaranteed injury lay-offs. 15:14 To be clear, Dembele and Sissoko (his agent) didn't play Barca, they played Xavi. It is well known fact that after the shenanigans of December 2021 (refusing to renew on reduced wages to allow Barca to register Ferran) and January 2022 (refusing to leave Barca and opting to run down his contract to leave as a free agent) Mateu Alemany and Joan Laporta wanted Dembele out of the club, it's the entire reason Barca signed Raphinha. He was signed to replace Dembele. However, when Dembele's expected move to PSG didn't materialise last summer due to a Mbappe U-Turn, he turned back to barca asking to reopen contract negotiation talks and Xavi made it clear to Laporta and Alemany that they should re-sign Dembele. Xavi put a lot of trust in Dembele, even though Laporta and Alemany disagreed with that approach. So really, Xavi is the one that has been played. Otherwise, a well put together video as usual Adrian. As a barca fan, I have shared my 100% completely unemotional take 😂on this Dembele transfer over on my channel. Dembele came, he tried, he failed and now someone is still crazy enough to offer him twice what he was on at Barca. Let the man get paid, we might miss him maybe, but he's no Messi or Neymar so I'm confident that he will be replaced eventually. Low-key, I'm glad we no longer have to deal with a guy whose agent starts agonising for a move everytime he has a rough patch of form or who starts demanding an astronomical pay rise everytime he has his 2 or 3 world class showings. I now hope that Xavi can invest the same kind of trust he put into Dembele, into players like Raphinha, Abde, Fati and kids like Lamine Yamal who really want to be at the club.
It’s a blessing in disguise for dembele to leave, unreliable, at the most important period of the season, he gets injured with nothing less than 2months time frame
Dembele was the only player who genuinely made me excited to watch Barca games he has that Neymar flair , sad to see him go but maybe it’ll help Barca develop there all around attack more
Ik most barca fans like to make fun of him and hate him now, but for me personally he is one of my favorite players to watch, he is so incredibly skilled and talented. Wish him nothing but the best with psg and hope he can stay healthy.
Seeing everything from the refusal to train with BVB until now, Barca really only have themselves to blame. I could understand why the club persisted with him cuz giving up on a 100 mil player so quickly wasn’t on the table and the club were never gonna get any decent offers with his injury record. Where I’m more annoyed is that Xavi went against the club and fans to fully support Dembele only for him to leave the first chance he got. During that whole drama last year, that should’ve been the time to cut the losses and fully close off the disastrous Bartomeu era.
Neymar leaving single handedly destroyed Barcelona tbh. Of course there was still good players namely one Leo Messi, but Barcelona were way too trigger happy to get the new Neymar to fill the whole he had left. I think if anything they should’ve really just spent it on young players or never spend that Neymar money. And I really think Barcelona should’ve been way more specific on who to get or buy. They probably could’ve got way more value by tryna buy players from Italy or on expiring contracts.
He’s gotta be one of those guys with Uber tallent but just sees the game as fun and wants to enjoy life. Fair enough but I would be frustrated if I was a Barca fan.
Yes but no. Someone had play the good cop and coach standing by his players regardless of financial situation is not out of the realm of managing the rock rides in football. What was the alternative choice for Xavi? He tried but Dembele is doing Dembele… we tried now we can say screw that guy… we will forget who he was in few days…
@@GothPaoki or let him walk for free (last year)… if you compare it that situation to this (this is $25 million dollars better decision) plus a league title. 💯 the only right decision anyone could have taken and hoped they could have convinced him to stay… I don’t see too much there… it wasn’t meant to be wrong guy but right approach or only approach left because everyone knew about Barca’s finances
Clubs force players out when the player is still under contract. In this case, the club agreed a cheap release clause with him getting half of the fee. Wtf is to blame.
I am so happy he's finally gone! Maybe you could have mentioned that after the neymar deal bartolomeo spend 1 bilion euro to replace neymat on the left wing and did not sign a single left winger.
What Barca doesn’t get: if you convince a player to backstab his club, turn into a traitor and join them, then they are still buying a traitor that is capable of backstabbing them for the next club. No other club in europe uses player strikes or other dirty tactics like the Felix/Mendes interview like Barca does for transfers
Fully agreed with the first part but your second part is totally biased. Way Barca forced BVB to sell Dembele was shameful to say the least but Barca is NOT the only club who has done this Sterling (Liverpool to city), Kane (failed moved from Spurs), Carlos Teves and finally Neydamar (Barca to PiSsG) they all have forced their transferred in the similar, shameful, manner. Btw Felix's transfer has nothing to do with Barca it all Mendes and his stupidity thinking Barca would spent big amount.
Barcelona seem to always be in the worst end of these mammoth deals. They signed Dembelé for 140 and couldn't even get 20% of this money back on top of the fact that they're struggling financially. But they've got no one to blame but themselves and the joke of the board that started with Bartomeu.
It was all bartomeu really. That amount we got for Neymar should’ve set the team up for the future. But I was lost in three bad signings. Coutiho, dembele, and Griezman. With all the being over 100m. But what hurt is the most was the big wages he was handing out like candy.
This is good. Our financial situation doesn’t allow us to try and ask for higher prices for our players. The other clubs know our situation and they know we have to sell. The good news is Dembele transfer fee helps as well as his wages off the books too.
Dembele is one of the reasons people can't take football serious anymore. This guy lacks character and morals. He forced his transfer to Dortmund and his transfer to Barca. Despite his talent he seems to be a miserable human being - just like Calhanoglu or Lucas Hernandez...

In this time of nonsense hype, dumb hot takes and 'banter' Thanks Adrian
Dembele's transfer was wrong since the very beginning. They signed a RW to replace Neymar, a LW. I remember what happened when Dembele joined, Suarez was moved to the left, Messi played up front with Dembele on the right. This made no sense. And then he got injured and Barcelona had to get some other LW. I am very relieved that he is gone. I never saw anything special in him. He is good for highlights but can't win you games.
We were going to lose him for nothing and Dembele couldn’t find a club so he needed to buy time without compromising his future propositions…(so well done!) Xavi got some performances that led to major titles and Barca was glad to have him onboard for less salary when we needed the most. At the end Barca wanted to loyalty from Dembele and there is none. management get rid of players all the time and companies loses top performers and this is no different… as a fan Dembele showed no love and will receive none! Chapter closed!!!
If I were Naser al khelaifi I would have bought the whole team who decides to buy the young players for Dortmund instead of buying expensive star footballers.
The way Barcelona handled this was awful. It made them seem like a club run by amateurs. Barcelona and Xavi personally took a gamble with a player they already knew had problematic behaviour and they lost. They believed in him, he didn't believe in them. The contract negotiations were also handled incredibly stupid. The player wanted to leave for psg and when he couldn't simple because of circumstances on psgs side they still gave him the bag and also added incredibly bad clauses that would allow him not only to leave easily but also take a big portion of the money of the release clause.
@@goku445 bro the video is about dembeles situation and his deception towards Barca. Bartomeu wasn't part of his contract renewal. Laporta and xavi were the suckers in this case

Barcelona post Pep and Luis Enrique (inc Man Utd post SAF) have been the poster child of exactly how not to run a big club. Most of their transfers since 2016/17 have been an absolute disaster
Dembele is a very dangerous player, and as a Real Madrid fan, who is concerned about or LBs... I am quite relieved if Dembele goes. Bad loss for Barcelona.
Dembele was never a real barca player. One of the last bartomeu disaster to finally leave the club. And as for psg if they enjoy neymar their gonna love dembele
As a barca fan this is the best thing that happened to us since he came to barca. Finally we have an opportunity to sign or play someone unproven, which would not be possible with him staying in hospital wing of barca.
As a Barça fan I never liked dembele. Since day one he’s hasn’t been at Barça level. He’s an overrated player and has nothing on his belt to prove that he’s a top player. Just injuries every single season and when the CL comes around he disappears.
I’m a Culer and a pretty lenient one at that. But even I’ll say Dembélè played better off the pitch than on it. If he had the same kind of tenacity in-game that he shows when quibbling for money in the office, he’d have maybe been worth the trouble. But here goes another cursed #11. Good riddance.
i still use dembele in career modes because he is a good player, irl lets be honest not being picked weeks on end then being expected to perform like messi or neymar just shows how bad barca really are behind the scenes
@@zackgalante4899 we never wanted to tbh, then xavi would have excluded him completly from the sporting project if he was not important...xavi considered him as a untouchable ironically...

Maaan, as a Madrid fan I really feel for Barca, what a mess there Board is, all rivalries aside, It's better to see Barcelona thrive rather than, some OIL and Corruption backed MAN City or PSG
Barcelona Will most likely get more like 35m and not 25, Also add in that he played for cheap an entire season. He played for barcelona many seasons even if he was injured a lot. Barcelona got back some of their investment. Wish him the best at psg and barcelona Will most likely come out of this as an improved team with allemany finding a better solution.
I agree with you. I think it's pretty obvious this was the plan all along. Agree to a pay cut to get 25M€ next summer. He must've renewed or he would leave for free, leaving him with nothing.
Nothing wrong with Dembele going to PSG. But if it was intended beforehand, it is deceitful from him not the leave early as it probably prevented Barca from acquiring Messi, Arda Guller etc (it also seems purposeful from PSG). Not to mention the faith Xavi has placed on him by altering the whole Barcelona game to play to his strength (1V1 dribbling). The system was so much tailored to Dembele that Raphinha struggled heavily when he had to play that role.
Barca did a good thing for my opinion, I still remember how barca didn’t want to renew his contract before due to financial crisis and poorly performance of this player. So I think that’s why the clause is minimal only 50millions release clause. Xavi literally saved his career in barca.
Barca gave him a lot more leeway than most players. A big part of it is how he spent his time away from the game and clearly wasn’t giving his all to get back on the pitch.
Good riddance…. He should have left a few years ago .. 6 years at Barca and he did nothing worth mentioning… always injured… you could never rely on him … not a single big match in which you could say “yeah we won this game because of him”
PSG and Barcelona have a special relationship don't they. So, I've always been a football fan. But this is the first transfer window that i pay attention to all the drama and bad blood that can result. Its not something a casual fan (which i used to be) pays attention to. But these players are people. These sporting directors and managers and owners are people. People get angry. People lie. People cheat. And, even with the public statements individual clubs pull out to the masses its something to keep in mind. Its cynical to think like that and i don't normally think like that (Chelsea last year really beat my childish naivety) but...yeah 🤷♂️ As for Barca.
I agree
@@catalinpopa2005Agreed a shitter who used up our money that would've been put in better use.
True true
@@morlath4767bruhh he was already earning sht loads of money from Barca and he was enjoying his time at the hospital not playing 😂
As a Zimbabwean you cannot believe how happy it makes to see you wearing a Highlanders shirts n giving then the spotlight thanks for the 🇿🇼❤️❤️🔥💯
Please STOP the nonsense.
Bad leader.
Lmao, atleast Pique did it later in his career damn near over, Dembele was useless his whole career 😂
Props to the man's agent, as for Barca sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and leave what appeared to be a somewhat toxic relationship. Even if your left with a few wounds, eventually they'll heal.
bro was in the hospital 24/7😂
Dembele was the only player who genuinely made me excited to watch Barca games he has that Neymar flair , sad to see him go but maybe it’ll help Barca develop there all around attack more
He DOES NOT have that Neymar Flair

Yeah, miss my boy, Neymar. sadly things haven't gone his ways either, if only he controlled his ego and stayed in the club he would've won more.
upon landing in paris a slight breeze struck dembele's hamstrings and will now miss *6 months* due to injury...

He’s gotta be one of those guys with Uber tallent but just sees the game as fun and wants to enjoy life. Fair enough but I would be frustrated if I was a Barca fan.
Xavi trusted the wrong guy. He needs to learn as well
Yes but no. Someone had play the good cop and coach standing by his players regardless of financial situation is not out of the realm of managing the rock rides in football. What was the alternative choice for Xavi? He tried but Dembele is doing Dembele… we tried now we can say screw that guy… we will forget who he was in few days…
He personally insisted they do everything to keep dembele. It's 100 percent his fault as well.
Literally Bayern and the Kane saga but hey let’s cheery pick
There's a bunch of clubs doing it just in this summer season. You live in another universe if you think like that.
Keep talking shit boy, Barca bigger than whatever shit club you support
Honestly Barca have themselves to blame. They agreed to the clause
Holy hell, his agent is an absolute baller. If I was dembele, I'd be giving him half of that 25 mil hahaha
Lol he deserved it , sold a cripple
and he's joining PSG great work I think that's the perfect club for him lol
Must be the same guy that represents Choupo Moting he could sell snow to an eskimo.
As a Zimbabwean I can confirm that the rivalry between Highlanders and their rivals Dynamos is the Zimbabwean equivalent of El Classico
A highlanders kit wow as a Zimbabwean I'm so happy

Dembele is one of the reasons people can't take football serious anymore. This guy lacks character and morals. He forced his transfer to Dortmund and his transfer to Barca. Despite his talent he seems to be a miserable human being - just like Calhanoglu or Lucas Hernandez...
Just another example of Bartomeu’s horrendous financial mismanagement
There is no confusion about Dembele 's contract. Barcelona is trying to renege on their world

As a Barca fan, I’m glad he is gone. I don’t think he’s as good as people think and he was injured for most of the time.
Wtf is a private clause? Laporta has been fooled😭
I love the dude but you have a point, his departure was inevitable. Better sooner than later, although most of us are still shook

Breakup from a toxic relationship is always better...

I swear you never make any good videos about Barca
Barca did a good thing for my opinion, I still remember how barca didn’t want to renew his contract before due to financial crisis and poorly performance of this player.
So I think that’s why the clause is minimal only 50millions release clause. Xavi literally saved his career in barca.
Barca gave him a lot more leeway than most players. A big part of it is how he spent his time away from the game and clearly wasn’t giving his all to get back on the pitch.
As a barca fan. I am happy dembele is leaving.
