If I am a draconic sorcerer and choose a fire Dragon as my ancestor as a Tiefling do I become immune to fire?
The original take on Merlin from the King Arthur legend left his backstory very vague. In a later interpretation, he was written as a half-demon that got baptized as an infant, thus freeing him evil control but letting him keep his magical power. Its interesting that Tieflings have such an ancient place in medieval stories.
Kinda surprised this wasn't just a troll video where you played your intro, screamed "WARLOCK!" and then played your outro. lol
They honestly make better scorcors though. I'm surprised there's not a demon subclass for it.

I really like the concept of a celestial warlock tiefling. That's one that'll throw your party for a loop.
No more than Tiefling Paladin. But yeah, it's a cool twist.
@@nickwilliams8302 tiefling paladin is a pretty legit build. go Zariel and get the str bump and 2 freebie smites. also you serve a fallen angel which is kind of cool in itself.

With a Unicorn Totem (Circle of the Shepherd) active, the healing is ridiculous.

The Titheling cleric (trickster) chaotic good, fleeces and guilt trips everyone into "donating" to her/his charity of choice };-D (I see the gobbalo got touched up, hope it heals quick)
SCAG's Variant tiefling that gets +2 to DEX is not worth mentioning? They do have some real potential as monks and barbarians. Cause DEX and WINGS, baby.
Having wings with speed that for monk also grows with their walking speed is amazing, no?

A little while ago I played a Levistus Tiefling Hexblade/Redemption Paladin. Sounds contradictory at first but went Hexblade for blade ward, shield, armor of Agathys & fiendish vigor invocation. An absolute wall of a tank.
I of course, went for the basic warlock for my tiefling haha. Great video!

A Winged Feral Tiefling Shadow Monk...
Loose the original spells because of wings, but gain new spells from The monastic tradition... Win win...
Its funny that Team Four Star at the Table has a Tiefling Barbarian who is training to become a monk.
With the variants in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes and Sword Coast Adventurer's Tiefling can be anything.
The Feral Tiefling with its +2 Dexterity can make a decent Monk, dumping strength and charisma.
Tiefling my favorite race :)

playing Tiefling Wizard (Necromancer) now and got a Tiefling warlock (Hexblade) planned :D
Currently playing Tiefling bard with 2 dip into hexblade warlock. Very fun. Backstory pushes the pc to be like a civil rights musician / resistance fighter.

I might have missed it but the Ferrel teifling has DEX and INT so it would be the best for any INT based caster or a DEX weapon user. Also I would have liked an AL pick because MToF or SKAG would be the +1 for AL until they apply some common sense to the Races.

AL has released the season 9 rules and the teifling variations don't count as the plus one for AL play as of the time of the edit.
Will Feral the Tiefling Bard
SCAG does have the Feral Tiefling that replaces the +2 CHA for +2 DEX, so a +2 DEX, +1 INT which can make it a little bit more viable for a Monk, I really like that for an Arcane Trickster Rogue though.

Just finished building a tiefling bard because my rouge keeps almost dying. Need to have a backup
I know it wouldn't be adventure league legal, but the SCAG options let you replace your +2 to CHAR to a +2 to DEX and if you combine that with the option in MToF for the +1 to CON then you could get a good Barbarian feral Tiefling. The main spell even works out as Armor of Agathys isn't concentration so you can use your action to cast it and then rage. I've been thinking of making a Storm Tundra Barbarian and this was one of the Ideas I had for them. You could also do this for the Monk but since the spells for the + to WIS still go off of CHAR you can replace your spells for wings, a feral Monk flying Tiefling would be terrifying.

One of my favourite characters was Veritas Mortez, Knight (Noble) of the Oath of the Crown. There was a lot of depth of story, politics, and started entitled...and went through an arc of loss...and redemption.

I have a duo of PCs. One is a Tiefling son of Zariel Blood Hunter, the other is a Assimar Paladin who Somehow is descended from Zariel prior to her downfall (back when she was an angel). They learn to 'work' together like brothers fighting Demons.

Would Druid work with a tiefling
I have an Idea for a Order of Tiefling Paladins for my setting. I'm not sure if I want to go with Asmodeus or Zariel as the Power behind the Order they swear their Oath to. Zariel is the perfect Tiefling subrace type for them but Asmodeus is the god of sin.
i've always heard you shouldn't multi class casters but tiefling bard/sorcerer always has a place in my heart. my cold dead black heart...
You should play what you want to play. As long as you don't multiclass into like four different things it'll still be plenty strong enough.
Full casters I would never multiclass until after 5th level because 3rd level spells is when the power really picks up for them.
@@agilemind6241 That rule pretty much holds for martial classes as well though, due to the 5th level damage bump from Extra Attack. So it's more of a general rule regardless of whether or not you're playing a full caster.
There are exceptions though. The most obvious being the Sorcerer/Warlock. With this build you want to get the "Arcane Gatling Gun" (Eldritch Blast + Agonizing Blast + Hex + Quickened Spell) up and running as soon as possible. You'd be multiclassing at 3rd level for that.
Bard/Sorcerer and Cleric/Druid also spring to mind due to working off the same spellcasting Ability and getting 3rd level spells as quickly as single-class PCs. In fact, perhaps that's the rule: Don't multiclass before 5th level unless it's from one full caster class into another full caster class.

I still havent played a tiefling. I think I am going to make my first Warlock a Tiefling Warlock since I havent played a Warlock, but a Tiefling Cleric sounds cool....

Feral Tieflings from the SCAG would make fine monks with that plus 2 dex.
I'm playing right now a tiefling monk of the elephants 3 / druid of the moon 2. The best part is the whole thing was rolled on a set of dice for race, class, and alignment. At 2 when you could pick another class we chose to roll the class dice again. That put a new challenge to my role playing stills. I feel for the claric who also chose to roll and got sorcerer. A cha of 12 makes life hard for him.

Naw, just go Divine Soul Sorcerer and stick to buff/healing spells mainly from the cleric list, no DC/attack rolls needed. Then combo heavy armor+shield from cleric + shield spell from sorcerer to get an unhitable 25 AC in combat.
Well, a PC with CHA 12 _can't_ multi into Sorcerer anyway, so I suspect Chris' group isn't heavily into rules and stuff.
I personally don't like rolling randomly for race/class/etc., but for my next campaign I'm going to drop a dilemma on my players. They're going to get to roll for Abilities using the "4d6, drop the lowest" method. Then comes the choice. They can keep the scores they rolled and assign them as they wish. Or they can roll up two more sets of six and pick the best of three.
The catch: if they take the second option, they must assign the scores as they lie. No takebacks either. If they choose option two, they're committed.
The idea is that, by choosing option two, a player is almost guaranteed to get an awesome set of Ability scores. It's just that they're then going to have to look at the PC the dice have delivered and ask what kind of character has landed in their lap.
At the time of viewing this video I had just finished building a Tiefling Monk/Barbarian for a one shot lol

Depending on how many encounters per day there are in your campaign, barbarians won't always be raging, so I think a Zariel Tiefling wouldn't make a bad Barbarian since you get 2 smite spells, which don't rely on your spellcasting mod if you just want the initial bonus damage
Yeah it's not making the most out of those spells, but free damage on your melee attacks is always nice

The Self-Hating Dhampir Tiefling: His mom got bit by a Stirge which fed off a Vamp Spawn, after getting knocked up by an Incubus, died at burf. Hunts Undead, Hags, And Fiends for a reincarnation upon death as a Lawful Good critter. No tail wings hooves claws or horns allowed. Can't be a Pal or Bloodhunter, Sun Sickness, Turn Immunity, Burnt by Silver Magic Wpns.
How to solve the Monk issue: 1) go Feral for +2 Dex 2) negotiate with your DM for some sort of Shaolin temple background, so that you may swap +1 Int for +1 Wis 3) Profit.

No option ideas on a druid build?
I've always thought about doing one that was kinda a loner due to obvious bias. But only true friends he found in life were those treated much like him. Vermin lord. Lol. Rats, bats, spiders galore.
I'm currently running a tiefling druid with noble background, who was kicked out of the 4th hell for a crime he didnt commit and is "hell" bent on serving justice to the one who murdered his family. So he is lawful evil, and has a creed that he lives by. It may not be the best build ive done but I love it.

So eventually imma make him be able to just tames dragins and stuff. Started our first campaign the other day. First session. Rolled a Nat 20 praying to the goddess of luck.. Lol

I dumped my charisma for my tiefling monk (10 total in the stat) and i ended up being the face because i was the no nonsense grandpa that just wanted to get the job done and it's so much fun.

I've usually love your videos but this one was not up to the usual standards.
The actual video starts at 3:27. That means 1/3 of the video time is taken up with intros, sponsor ads and tom foolery. That's more fluff than the average tv show. A little disappointed.
In the old days, you would have gone through the different variants. You would have talked about why certain class/variant combos were better than others. There would have been some depth.
This video can be summed up as follows: Pick a tiefling type from the other books, play anything but barbarian or monk if you are a number cruncher, otherwise, play anything you want.
