I’m using Gleim private pilot deluxe kit for all my PPL course related materials. They are great and cost effective. It came with a bag, hat, books and the scale for supplemental chart, additionally, I have full access to their online ground school, test prep and audio lectures. Choice of CFR part 141 or 61 oriented videos for little over $300.00. Best value and highly recommend it. I’m on a roll to take my flight lessons from a CFI, NYC based.
Thank you Mr. Omar for all your help in providing some basics for all the aspiring students of Aviation and beyond. Appreciated!

Though I have it as it was a class requirement , I didn't like the Pilots handbook of aeronautical knowledge. It's like reading a dictionary. Even my smarter Physician buddy thought so. I Also found they were teaching stuff in The front of the book by using terminology not yet defined or taught. Kinda like teaching algebra by using calculus. Rod Machado's private pilot handbook is MUCH better in my limited student opinion. I've learned so much reading that book. I have all the air spaces memorized and have an actual understanding why the airspaces have the requirements that they do. Much easier reading book.

There’s definitely a lot of great books out there that teach you the knowledge. I like using the PHAK because I can refer to it when the examiner asks me questions on the checkride. The ACS published by the FAA cites the PHAK when discussing topics it wants covered by the examiner. If you cite what the ACS is citing, it would be hard for an examiner to fault you for that
