No One Asked For This... WHAT'S IN MY FLIGHT BAG!?

- No one asked for this, but it's a fun, "what do you carry with you?" kind of thing. Knowing darn well that this is what I carry, and not necessarily what you think is needed. But who knows, it could give you some ideas! Despite the fact that I'm an Eagle Scout and be prepared is always going through my mind, I don't take everything under the sun on every flight. The plane would never take off.... This is just what I take on 95% of my flights.
Big thanks to Flight Outfitters for providing me with this amazing bag, make sure to check them out! - www.flightoutfitters.com

You keep your logbook in your flight bag? IMO that seems like a terrible idea. If your bag gets stolen or destroyed somehow, you're losing all that evidence of your experience, endorsements, etc. I would recommend you keep your paper logbook at home in a fireproof safe, and use an electronic logbook on your iPad for ease of use and portability.
Carrying a logbook is not recommended for a certificate of private pilot unless you have 2 copies like one for at home and one you currently carries or even better can save on ipad, tablet or any electronic that's can save your important log data on cloud. From what I can tell, only students can carry for endorsement.
May have to get that bag. Looks better than mine. Seems we have almost identical stuff in our bags. Although I do have a small neck knife which has a built in flint for starting fires. Never know where you'll need it.
Probably wouldn't hurt to do a video later on an overall survivor backpack for long cross country's. Something you keep in one bag just to grab and go. Been trying to figure what all to put in them.
Comments talking about having a digital logbook.... How does one go about doing that? It sounds like a wonderful idea.
Anyways, great bag! Looks like you have lots of space and are well prepared!
Edit: Oh yeah, I love the blood oxygen checker! I have one, but I felt embarassed about taking it with me. I guess you could just opt to not fly higher than a certain altitude, too.
Some great ideas Carl, thanks for sharing.
I mean... I'm glad you showed cuz I didn't even think to ask 😂
Kbxk checking in! 🤙
Keep you logbook at home (preferably in a fire proof safe). I still use an old school logbook but never carry it in the plane. But like your video….no one asked me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have digital backups. I'm not worried about carrying it with me. I'm more worried about leaving it at home and losing it. I have 4 kids and things disappear and end up in my kids rooms all the time.
Do you think a fully assembled Ram yoke mount would fit in this bag?
No. They have some duffles that would work perfectly.
Love the set up Carl! I’m actually starting my training with the same club you’re in at KDVT! You wouldn’t happen to have a pdf copy of that frequency list you keep in your knee board that I could steal do ya?!
Shoot me a text, my numbers in the club directory.
Stuff... 😉
☑👍Who are you mr eco or mr boom? LOL
Hello, my daughter has been interested in learning how to fly. She is only 14, can she learn at the deer valley airport? Or does she have to wait to be older? She wants to be a pilot.
- Thank you
Nothing is stopping her from logging flights with a flight instructor. The age limitation for flying solo is 16, and you have to be 17 to become a pilot. Right now I would be digging into studies. The learning side of aviation is what keeps a lot of people from progressing. Check out Gold Seal, link in the description, but you can get a trial account for her to work through a few things to see what the learning side is all about. But I would start there and go one a few training flights. Hit the training hard when she's 16.
