This song is about love, but it also has sexual undertones. The garden is a woman's womb, the rose is her sexuality and the lily is her virginity. Horses are male sexuality, and fear of horses is fear of sex. In the old days, it was the parents (in this case, the mother) who decided who a girl would marry.

This is rather your interpretation of this text, my friend... I doubt that the intention of the author of this particular text was to make it erotic. The song is a folk song, and folk work did not involve deep metaphors, because its authors were simple people, not very familiar with literary techniques, means and styles, but they understood matters more clearly, although perhaps not always directly. Regards.

There is more to this, all the plant names are also used for girls in Poland. So you could interpret this as girls chatting about boys they like. Or a boy boasting about his conquests.

Więc o jakiego "kunia" tu chodzi i o jakie "pojenie"?

Najpiękniejszy kraj... Najcudowniejszy, jedyny i wyjątkowy... Inny od wszystkich innych krajów. To kraj naszych ojców, dziadów i pradziadów. To ziemia święta...To ziemia gdzie bieleją kości bohaterów, wojowników i wielkich władców. Ta ziemia pila ich krew przez tysic lat, a i jeszcze dużo dużo wcześniej. To nie jest kraj sprzedajnych polityków, nowoczesnych postępowców i nijakich, przeciętnych "nowomodsów". Nie patrzcie nigdy w ten sposób, bo zatracicie korzenie. Widzac góry, lasy, morze i jeziora myślcie o tym, że to jest właśnie Polska. Swięta i czysta... Ukochana i jedyna. Innej ojczyzny nie mamy i damy jej nigdy nikomu.
    Pozdrawiam.

Polska zachodnia jest praktycznie dopiero na etapie kształtowania swojej tożsamości kulturowej. O ile Ślązacy mają swoją kulturę ludową to tacy dzisiejsi Lubuszanie czy Zachodniopomorzanie to praktycznie tygiel kultur ogólnopolskich jak np. Małopolskich czy nawet Litwińskich, Białoruskich, Ukraińskich.

"Watering the horse" is a metaphor for sex. Not many people realize this, because traditional Polish folk culture has been superseded by pop culture, but the old songs are teeming with sexual innuendo and sometimes with bitter grievance toward the nobility and the clergy. She fell for the guy eyes as se explain in second part and next part the guy is asking her directly if she want to be his but she redirects as "i need to ask my mother". So theme in pop songs are always similar just older were less direct :) but im sure in times when this was popular at parties priests would say it is inappropriate song. :D

Therefore 'w moim ogrodecku ( in my garden)', she's really means what her body offers..'.'rosnie rozyczka (rose grows) ' she's got something beautiful, comparing it to flower of rose... she's talking about vagin.a...Finally "napoj mi Maniusiu mojego konicka' ( feed my horse Maniusia girl.) Nie chce nie nie napoje bo sie konia boje bom jeszcze mloda' (No I don't want to give water to the horse because I'm still young). Some young guy's horse is thirsty. In Polish 'kon' horse is the acronym for peni.s.

In this song, you must take into account that in Polish the pronunciation is dialectal - the syllables sz and cz are flattened to s and c. This is what uneducated people living in villages once said. Both the pronunciation and the syntax are very anachronistic. And the song is very frivolous, but so understated that it escaped the censorship of the old people ;)

It's about a Polish village girl that fell in love with a boy. And I belive the "horse" in the first stanza is symbolizing the you know what (wink wink) same as "rooster" but in British.@@RobReacts1

It's a poor translation. The song is great, but the words are translated literally and the meaning is lost in the English translation. You have to relate the meaning of the words in context and not just find their equivalent in another language. This came across like a technical manual that was translated using cheap software. The words in songs are often poetry and you can’t translate poetry word for word in the same order as the original language because you end up with this kind of gibberish.
