It was really fun to play this tournament, especially for me who doesn't play a lot in major! I'm a bit sad I couldn't pass acliv, but I'm proud of myself, and it's the most important. Thank you so much for this video, Schoell, it's awesome to see you making a video about that! =D
Man this is some really high quality content I just witnessed. Good job for your amazing work. I'm so glad everyone enjoyed KickOff that much, I really appreciate it, it was a lot of work for us but it definitely paid off. We do have plans for the future of the Puyo esport scene, we'll see how it'll go ^^ We definitively need more Puyo content this qualitative
Thank you so much haha. Really enjoyed being a part of the event, was incredible to watch and it was an honor to make a video about this! Was great meeting you and Hiku yesterday as well!
Well damn! I don't think I've been this interested in the puyo tournament scene since I first got into the game a little while ago. Watching these elite players challenge each other is so surreal for someone who's never really been able to get good at the game. It definitely makes my head spin! Really entertaining video, well done!
@@AndouRingo pois é zé. É so que no video ele lista uma galera como melhor do país deles ae tem Void do brazil. Acho q podia ter posto melhor daqui tbm. So n confirmei pq to muuuito tempo sem ver a comunidade puyo puyista
Wow, this was awesome! Watching expert Puyo players play against each other is very satisfying for me to watch, and it motivates me to keep improving my Puyo skills! I don't know why, but when the finals were happening, I was rooting for Noraske to win. But regardless, it was a great game and Piponeer did deserve that win. And also, your commentary was awesome! I love how much energy you put into it!
I feel so invested watching these tourneys with your commentary!! These players are crazyy good, especially Noraske with how their chains looks so sophisticated, calculated and all. These last games between players really did get very intense!
congrats on this commentary gig schoell, also, this tourney was insane, while i didn't watch it, the opening is enough to compare it to samurai warriors' take on the osaka campaign for the toyotomi, being you, your friends versus the whole nation
Dude, I loved that piece haha! You always have to just appreciate good art and that was one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever received! Thanks so much for it again, even if it was a year and a half ago ^-^
Awesome commentary by the way! I love it Spoilers! yeah . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Poor Doremy got Noraske over and over again as their opponent 😅 The final match was wild tho! Those counters were nuts! . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
so schoell, before the beginning of the new school season, here's one last crossover idea: admist dream land, a misterious spear is found, when adeleine and ribbon touch it, they, and all of dreamland are sent to the sengoku era (especifically, the samurai warriors version), but simultaneously, sanada yukimura and arle cross paths, clashing with such a might, that the villain is able to fuse 3 more worlds into the chaos... the puyo-nexus, the somni archipelago ( representing the klonoa franchise) and the digimon world, alonside the sushi strikers to make up the numbers. 20 puyo heroes are spread across the land, with lidelle and adeleine ending with the sanada clan, becoming friends and loyal allies to them, kirby and co. find adeleine and masayuki fighting ujiyasu hojo, and explain what's happened... king dedede discovered the complot of evaristus to try and rule the land, gathering villains of old from the worlds affected, and brainwashing some fallen heroes to his cause, and without the mystics, they're the only force standing against him. seeing the dangers up ahead, and with some pleading from lidelle and adeleine, the hojo and sanada leaders unite to restore the resistance army, alongside the toyotomi and tokugawa, thanks to nene and hanzo spying them... their goal, to unite the broken land, save the fallen heroes and the warriors in peril, and defeat evaristus grand. so i will ask, besides lidelle, draco, amitie and sig, which 20 puyo characters are fit to be part of a warriors game in your opinion?
This was a fun tournament to play in, I was even able to exceed my expectations by going 1-2 when I expected to not win any sets at all. Still can't believe I beat Nentarou, even if we both weren't playing as well as we usually do
i didnt know that one of osu's top players doremy was a puyo player, if that is the actual person that is playing since how they spelled then UN was the same way
I’m not too familiar with osu myself but I do know that Doremy does play a bit at a very high level. I do know they went by Ekoro a bit there but I haven’t kept up with any of that recently.
I get that there's the whole "for the love of the game" angle here - but if you're the best in the world at something, it should be paying you well enough to never have to do anything else. I hope there's an event where someone eventually gets $100,000+ for winning a tournament of this caliber somehow.
Piponeer is a licensed Puyo player by trade and Puyo is an actual eSport in Japan with SEGA giving out grand prizes and such to its winners. The difference maker is here is that this tourney wasn’t hosted by SEGA rather by members of the French Puyo community and were in communication with SEGA, but nothing was involved with the prize pool with this being an international online event.

didn't get to show up in stream tho, especially sad as my comeback vs Shoboru would've been one of the hypest things for the entire tourney :(

I have NOT been keeping up with Puyo Puyo for a while, seeing all these amazing players pull off such insane plays is CRAZY
I keep getting blown away by how good Doremy is at both Puyo Puyo and Tetris. How the hell can one man be so consistently incredible at both games??
Not to mention also being a top player in osu! under the username Ekoro at the exact same time. Incredibly talented gamer all around!
@@XEpiccatX wow, I didn't even know that. Insane
and a top-level panel de pon player, they're an expert puzzle gamer, a natural
When I was regularly playing Puyo Puyo Tetris, Doremy kept and kept showing up in promotion matches and thus it was being denied all the time.
goated at osu!, tetris, puyo, absolutely wild

Glad to see it!
seeing such high level puyo play makes me want to see a tournament full of average people but taken as seriously as possible
I would watch it ngl
I would be down for that i dont play puyo puyo as much as i used to and have never played online only against family and friends @thalezito-4990
i like the part where schoell said "it's 24 kickoffin' time" and 24 kickoffed all over everyone
I like the part where piponeer said “it’s mille-feuille time” and milled all over the feuille
Omg it’s him 😨😨😨
Lol
i hate and love how this kind of joke is still funny to me despite how many times i have seen it
Void from Brazil is probably the strongest Puyo in brazil man. Dude is chill and amazing. Love to see him perform and this tournament was fire
he is THE strongest player in brazil, there is barely any contenders

I love your name it brings a smile to my face. when are we getting sugared ex? I want space dad coated in sugar

Dang this was absolutely awesome! I'm always really happy to see to competitive Puyo Puyo coverage!
PS I hope to see more from the Puyo Puyo Community!!!
Honestly, I really do want this to happen again. Really brings back the days how many people would show up from around the world, puyo puyo for life!
it was so hype!! i am so happy i was there to see it live
The twist at the end was really cool and put the whole event in a different light
I've been trying to learn all the ways to build chains, and this has made me even more motivated to learn
0:50 ngl, I was surprised to see my artwork still having been used for that long. I’m quite flattered to say the least.

Possibly one of the best things that happened in Puyo Day 2024.
I enjoyed to watch the 24kickoff tournament. Unlike soccer kickoff tournament.
HYPED FOR PUYO PUYO YEAR
❤ nice video man
God, this whole thing was INTENSE.
Pro Level Puyo always boggles my mind.

idk just use the 20th cast, maybe replace one with Strange Klug or something.
and with that, the final question, can you make an enemy officer defeated quote for amitie, sig, raffina, arle, ringo and maguro?@@SchoellScrub

did you upload on the 24th on purpose lol
This looks intresting
this was the pu to end all yos
God damn that was intense as hell
Nice to see some representation from Latin America in the tournament.
I need to get back into Puyo Puyo
Yeee new vid!
Damn Japan loves Arle lol
WAIT RIKE BEATED YOSHI AND DOREMY 👀
i really enjoyed this video even though i don't play puyo
I think I have to get into puyo puyo now
shibakazu: hmm i sense a disturbance
My first competitive puyo puyo video ever

0:00 38:58 Sound like a FNAF 20/20 +4 mode.
yeah its unfortunate i couldnt compete in it due to wifi problems
Okay, but we all know Schoell would have won if he played instead of commentating :3
Also the longest possible puyo chain is 19
well what a great tournament, sucks that japan, like ieyasu, won at the end
i had to face koopary in a online match but i shat on him like i deleted him with a NICEEEE 12 combo
Piponeer always wins in tournaments idk why he is only rated 6th
He doesn't, he participates but he doesn't always win
