That was a long video but it finally explained that I needed to make a compound path of my multiple circles in order to weld my scroll w my circles. Thanks!

It would disappear. Your “B” test cut is also extra helpful. The regular test cut is good but I’ve been able to get the test cut good and the actual text on the designs haven’t cut all the way or at all. I think the “b” will be a more accurate test. The other little tips here and there are helpful too. I’ve had to learn some of them the hard way. Wasting lots of material. I’ve had my silhouette for at least a month now and have only successfully made 4 shirts. All my other projects have been a disaster. I’ve had design classes in high school and designed things when I was bored at home so I thought I would be okay with the silhouette program but it looks like I have a lot to learn/relearn.
I have watched to s of videos on this and failed! I did it today watching you and following you step by step I will learn so much from you, I love how calm and slowly do your teaching. Thank you I’m a follower 100%
You would have to do the same thing. It would need to be a compound path in order to weld to it. If it's just a single shape, when you weld - it melts the text to the single shape - or combines them together.
Hi, I am having an issue. I typed a word. I am trying to select it so I can change the font. I have tried to double click on it and it brings up point editing. It makes the text style screen grayed out. If I unselect the word, I can only add a next text box. I am not sure what i am doing wrong. Please help. I can share my screen with you if you are willing to see what I am doing. Thank you.
Did you change the text in any way - ungroup, weld, convert to path, release compound path? Any changes to text, it is not longer editable text and is considered a vector design. You will not get text properties and either have to undo the change or start over. If you hadn’t altered the word any sometimes the point editing for some reason is selected randomly (by a ghost perhaps?) so you just reselect the arrow again.

What about welding a word to the outline of a shape? Can you make a tutorial on this?

Do you mean the Punch Tool? Or do you mean the weeding tool in my hand? It was easily weeded without it.
