Of course you are right; there’s a smaller audience for ‘meditation music’…like you I went through the Hare Krishna phase in my hippy days…but what I just wanted to add is the meditation as it truly is, is silence…no sound, the switching off of the internal dialogue, and being separate from the human world thus open to the Divine :-) Takes dedication and years of patience but in the end there’s such joy and peace…. Namaste :-)
I think this album is wonderful. I have been streaming it since its release. The the idea of locked tracks is very interesting. Glad that Sean put this together ❤
Thanks for that Mazzy. A really interesting and open-minded trek through the offbeat areas of mainly solo projects. I have more of these than I was expecting, although I have not gone for the Mind Games meditative mixes... yet. I would perhaps buy this instantly on CD, and while the vinyl package does look really nice, it is a little expensive for something I will perhaps never play. At present I do not have a vinyl set-up and principally mainly buy on CD these days That said I still have all of my old vinyl collection and would never dispose of this. Perhaps at some point I will get a turntable set-up, but it is a little down the road. However, it is always great to get an overview of the vinyl releases, so keep up the good work.
I'm not planning on spending the money for this big LP set of Meditative Mixes, but I will listen to it online. I like how you describe this type of music.
I love this concept! In the late 1980s Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) released an album that consisted entirely of lock groove recordings called "From Here To Infinity".
Such an imaginative project! I hope to check it out. On a similar vibe, I really enjoyed Chang's White Album, where layers go way out of synch and become an abstract experience (Coleman and I got to see the exhibit together). I'd also add Liverpool Sound Collage, which I really enjoy as an experimental project.
I will pick this up, but perhaps Sean might have put this ob BluRay. This would allow all of the music to be on one disc , with perhaps a surround mix. That would make it "spacier" Hmmmm !!!
Mazzy cool 😎 video ! For the people that think that John would not be happy with what Sean has done with all these remixes. I think that they’re really wrong. John would have loved today’s technology and he would’ve embraced it . Even Paul has made comments in the past regarding that . John would love what his son is doing. Just my opinion. 😊
I am really baffled (though I shouldn't be) by the resentment I've seen in social media over the Meditation Mixes set. I'm seeing a lot of accusations of Sean being a no-talent leeching off of his father's music, when in reality Sean has shown himself to be an outstanding talent with a lot of highly creative recordings to his credit.
Totally agree Michael. These experimental projects actually interest me more than any of the remixes. But it’s up to each of us to grab or not. Appreciate your thoughts as always. Namaste 😎🤠
The Lennon estate and Sean has done a marvelous job of releasing John’s music so far The box sets have been great so far This release should appeal most to fans who want everything from the band, like yourself I’ve listened to this and had to stop after about 15 minutes Zzzz! Not for me but some might love this
Sounds like a total nightmare, Mazzy. Lock tracks? Dear Lord. Can't imagine dad would have liked his son experimenting with what are essential pop/rock songs.
Mind games on loop? Truly nauseating..Sean what a talent 😂😂 you set listening to mind games for an hour??? Seek help mazzy ffs As for promoting Beatles kids music..would you listen to grandkids music? Great grandkids?? Great great grandkids..totally sycophantic..Fred Lennon has a song doing the rounds..would you listen to Fred Lennon greatest hits? How about aunt mimi? Would u listen to her?😂 I care about the Beatles not their offsprings…truly bizarre stuff. Ps I’m a Beatles nut but I draw the line somewhere!!
@@mazzysmusic Beatles kids deserve zero time..why should they get it? Bcus their dads were Beatles? Don’t understand it at all..word is sycophantic..no offence but that’s the truth
I do mention the Fireman albums. But Julian seems to have lost his musical Passion. He would record something every decade or so between his photography and other projects, but Sean and Dhani are fully immersed with various musical projects. They are more invested and passions about music today. .

Great to see you make the connections, linking the Lennon Meditation Mixes to the tradition of Beatle and solo experimentation. Thanks!

You’re blowing my mind! I find myself watching you every 12 hours!
Are you having a burst of energy? I do love the videos!

Jeepers Norman you are on a roll with all your video output! Great stuff!
It’s all the mediation Ive been doing 😵💫
Another great video Mazzy! I love the experimental thread you’ve shown that links these recordings.
Glad you like them!✌🏼

Another excellent and very informative video Mazzy 💪🏻👌🏻🤯
I needed this relaxing video after all the yelling at Rachel's today. Thanks Mazzy!
Enjoyed the ASMR. It tingled from head to toe!! Thank you
You’re welcome 😊

I adore Dhanis first solo album. Absolutely stunning! Saw him live with that early on band. I forget the name. They were solid
The NewNoTwo
@@mazzysmusic thats it!!!
I think McCartneys (The Fireman) 1998 Rushes album is one of the greatest albums of his career.

Excellent review! I enjoyed the album but like you said it's not for everybody.

There was McCartney's Liverpool Sound Collage as well.
With super furry animals 😎
@@mazzysmusic Oh yeah, forgot about them. Ha.
Sean and Nels were roommates for a bit in NYC.
Bernie Krause does nature recordings now. He appeared in the incredible Apple TV show Earthsounds.
Yeah in the late 80s and 90s he put out lots of nature CDs through the Nature Company

Wouldn't it have been cool if Sean had released this on Oct. 9, you know on his birthday. "Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream".
Yes but release days are always Fridays. So it is birthday week ✌🏼

Hope everyone can see the new movie Daytime Revolution where fir an entire week John&Yoko co host The Mike Douglas Show from February 1972
I still have my VHS box of that entire Mike Douglas week with John and YOKO
Wouldn't Sean Lennon's Meditative Mixes of Mind Games have been a more appropriate title and credit? John didn't mix the songs like this or did he?
Interesting video Mazzy
Not for me
I don’t believe in mantras someone once sang . I’m with that guy
Sometimes I think, Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road is all you need.
You would be wrong 🤓🤠😎
@@mazzysmusic I forgot Revolver or Rubber Soul. Either will do. :)

Macca did this in 1993 with Strawberries Ocean...release and it's better. And, Julian Is by far the talented Beatle offspring.
