The first piano tuner we had in 1974 was an elderly gentleman in his 80's. He would regale us with ragtime and Tin Pan Alley tunes when the piano was ready and the whole family would gather 'round to listen. I know that feeling of enjoying the good music afterwards! Thank you for another lovely video putting a piano to rights! 💗

Blind Andrew was organist at Sandycroft Church, Hawarden, Wales in the 1960s and played in local pubs too. They even said he walked alone 2 miles to church.
Thankyou for showing us your many piano fix ups. I enjoy watching your video clips. Have been playing piano since I was 5 years old. I am now 64. Still playing.
I lost my piano in the '94 Northridge quake. I had use of one shortly after my husband's uncle passed away in 2011, before Uncle's piano got moved to USC (He left it to the music dept in his will, and we had to coordinate the physical transfer of property). My son got to hear his mommy play what little I could remember, and I taught him some basic music theory. I love seeing your tuning videos, because it helps me remember happy things from my own childhood.
I was visiting Marina del Rey when the Northridge quake hit. I'm so very sorry you lost such a beautiful instrument. I hope you'll find a way to get another one. That's been almost 30 years ago.
We used to have a piano tuner come once a year and I always looked forward to him playing it afterwards. He would always play “A Whole New World” from Aladdin and it was lovely
If its been so long since being tuned, they'll need to call you back for a second and maybe third tuning before it can actually stay in tune for an extended period... or so I've heard
Why didn’t you do a before AND after? I want to see the improvement. I already know that you know how to tune a piano I wanna see what it sounded like before you tuned it.
My late father was a piano tuner for over 20 years. I remember him having actions on our dining room table when I was growing up. Thanks for keeping the trade alive!
My parents bought a piano in 1965. One of the 3 strings of one of the Ds always would slip down to a B within a day or two. The rest of the piano was kept in good tune (as far as I know, until I moved out). My sister has it now (I have my own) and I'm sure it still slips. Seeing how easy it is to fix, I can't understand why no tuna has ever done so.
Makes me feel better, that it takes you 3 hours to tune pianos in this condition, as it takes me 3-4 depending. I need more tools such as the one used to set the pins, as well as more mutes, but it’s getter better!
Did not think I would be watching these videos. True Profesional. Not my thing but I enjoy watching. I remember my grandmother playing an old organ she used to have but then she got a piano. The only thing I play is the radio.
that's similar to how you'd do it on a string instrument with pegs, since it's just wood against wood, and they're tapered, you can push them in while tuning to get them to stick, or use peg drops, which is basically sticky stuff in a bottle that you can put on pegs to get them to stick
I have a piano that has been out of tune for such a long time that when I tried to get someone to tune it, that said that they couldn’t since it was too old of a piano.
It's so handy having modern tech to help tune things, in the 60's they probably used tuning forks and their ears. I can tune a guitar by ear but it will be slightly lower than standard tuning
Your job is one of the coolest I've ever seen:') And also I don't know why, but besides of being nice, you just have a good vibe Hope you have a great day :D

Seems like a lot of piano tuners are blind… Makes sense I suppose… You can feel your way around and hear the change!
Blind people are more likely to have perfect pitch
That's a pretty impressive sound for one of those tiny spinet pianos.
They can have a really nice sound, especially if you're in a small space.
Even the dog was happy
you worked really hard fixing the piano and then playing golden hour on the piano, couldn’t ask for more, great vid
Thank you :)

I just had my paint tuned and some of the notes were so flat that before tuning it was almost a full semitone lower than the actual note

Very good sound for an old piano.
