- Well, this finally happened!!! I've been wanting to catch a giant trout for a long time now, but had little success... until now! The fish gods must have noticed it and blessed me with this beautiful big mama Rainbow Trout during our camping trip at Duck Mountain Provincial Park in Manitoba, Canada.
This might be one of my favourite catches of all time. Fishing at a lake that I'm never been to, battling through a rain storm, losing numerous fishes right at the boat prior, and fishing time running out. But we never gave up and kept grinding and at last were able to land this fish of a life time for me!

Great job, I wouldn't have been out there because i hate fishing in the rain. Love the excitement on that big trout, what a beauty. I have never liked the taste of rainbow trout, maybe I need to find someone to cook it for me.
Haha. Thank you sir!! Part of the reason why I love fishing in the rain is because most people don't, less busy out there in the rain. Haha. Oh man, definitely give trout another try! I find they taste better when they come out of bigger bodies of water or from rivers. And fresh trout taste a lot better than non fresh. They are like one of my favorite fish to eat. Haha.

That big rainbow you caught was awesome, not often do I see people that exited about catching a fish anymore. Congrats. Panther martins are hard to beat. But you should try a jakes spin a lure in black with yellow dots as well. A very excellent lure as well.
Haha... thanks so much! I've been wanting to catch a nice trout for a while now, and I was hooking into them and losing them near the boat, so I was so frustrated. And that was pretty much the last day we were fishing. Considering everything I was so stocked to get it done! Haha. Thanks very much for the recommendation, I'll definitely get some of those and try them out in the future!
Just looked up a jakes spin a lure, I've actually seen them before and didn't think they'd work as they look like a nail clipper.. but I think I'll give it a try tho! Always like trying new things!
@@LuRanOutdoors ya don’t let looks deceive you. They are one of the most effective lures for trout in the world. And not enough people use them. So usually the fish aren’t wise to them. Fish them just like a panther Martin. You will have great success I’m sure. We hook up all the time up here in Canada on them

great vid!!! we also love rainbows, u gotta try this recipe! old bay, brown sugar, salt/pep then put a like quarter inch layer of plain mayo over all the meat then oven at 425’ then finish under the broiler to brown the top…… 10/10
