I watched this video to get my catches more crisp and clean when I catch any toss on rifle. and this video had helped me to the point where all my catches are cleaner . thank you for this video!!!
I'll do a tutorial on release points in a future video. A quick fix would be to try tossing your double from a flat position -- without using a prep. Once you get it that way, add the prep and make sure to release the double at about the same position as your flat position.
What's a tip to catch any piece of equipment at an angle. I keep dropping my shoulder when I catch which makes it wobble and I don't get a clean catch. I don't know how to fix the issue. PLEASE HELP!!
Visualize catching the rifle at an angle ahead of where you want the rifle to stop, so that you can get away with a little bit of shoulder drop and still catch the rifle at the correct angle. Also, really squeeze on your catch, and engage the muscles on both arms, from the fingers through the wrists, forearms, biceps, and shoulders. Dropping your shoulder means you need more arm strength, so make sure you're getting the proper PT -- armbusters and pushups work wonders for arm strength, but you have to do them 4-5 times per week. Good luck and keep spinning!
How do you keep your tosses spinning at an angle for beginners? For example when you toss in stead of it tossing it vertical and it spinning vertical ( l ) its spinning at an angle ( / ) or ( \ )?
Make sure your pole is properly weighted. Put a 3 1/2" carriage bolt in the top of the flag and a 2 1/2" carriage bolt in the bottom. The added weight helps with the drag that the flag creates. There are many different preps you could be using to do a double, but regardless, make sure you're grabbing the pole well away from the center so you can get plenty of down/out motion before you release the flag. Good luck and thanks for watching!
I'm not sure I understand the question. For starts, make sure you are initiating from the wrist that's doing the spinning and you're not "cranking" with the opposite hand. For stops, use the "bams" exercise shown above. Thanks for watching!

Someone else asked me about correcting the pitch on tosses, so I'll address that in a future video.
How to help someone whose wrist won't stay straight during spins and tosses? They are very pitched...
Are these able to be used by a 4 person color guard? Not the twirling flags one.
