I'm glad it helped you! Blind tosses aren't easy - what really helps with standard tosses is that you place your catching hand at the same height it would be if you were doing a regular catch. Good luck and keep trying!
I'll add that to the list -- I had a couple students of mine come back from band camps and clinics with other guards, and they were expected to learn double time on rifle. I had taught them single-hand double time, so they were used to the spin -- all they had to do was stick their other hand in.
it's very important to squeeze everything on the catch. Make sure your rotation and height are good for the toss. It's all about "knowing" your equipment and understanding how much it will rotate depending on how much force you use. aka you have to spin your gun A LOT. also try doing a couple hundred spins on each side. this will get your wrists stronger and thus make the flip easier. Hope this helps :)
I know there is snow right now but in may I will be making a color guard channel and i wanted to know if you could give me a tutorial on a behind the back flag catch.
This exercise had helped me but I'm still struggling on catching blind on standard tosses.

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They are helpful to me as a coach and to my students.
I have seen all of your videos for flag and they are great, I have taught myself a few of them!

Meghan -- yes, it's possible to do a triple. You have to release higher and harder, and squeeze harder on the catch, but it's possible.
Is it possible to do a triple with this exercise?
im finding it really hard to do this move. i cant get the flip then catch

That's one of my upcoming topics!
Could you please show more flag tricks? Also I am having trouble catching a Peggie spin blind catch with a flag!
I have a few flag tricks on here, but honestly it's not my favorite piece of equipment for tricks. I'll have to work on that!
