I don’t get why they scrapped that system. Even if it’s stupid expensive your gonna get someone with more money then brains to buy that. It would be perfect for a rolls.
They spent so much time on that BOSE suspension system (so much time that the early prototypes were early 90’s Lexus LS400’s) I can’t imagine the costs involved, seems really weird that they would’ve spent so much time and money on something that never made it into production.
Damn, I'm a fan of this. First thing I noticed was no vibrations or minor adjustments in the wheel under braking with the Sensify system. But that turning under hard braking was easily the most impressive (to me). That is crazy. Great topic and vid Eddie.
I remember when I was a kid and they talked about ABS brakes which was invented for the space shuttle coming to cars. It’s been a long time since we’ve updated braking.
Most interesting video I'd seen on this. Thanks for sharing I hope this tech gets widespread adoption on evs. 👍🏻 I wish tech like this would get ev makers to seriously consider switching to using in board brakes as well. Could further simplify evs, reduce some weight and build costs. Plus improve overall handling and in board brakes would allow for true aero inspired wheels&covers. 🤔
We are +3 minutes in to the video and still have no idea that the difference between this system and a normal system is ... what ? How the F does it work and why.
I've seen a few projects like this in the last 5 or so years. None of them have caught on. The biggest thing is having it free and open for manufacturers. Safety tech even if it has a performance benefit won't be used unless it is mandated or free.
I believe Brembo has some great OEM relationships and they have confirmed that there is at least one vehicle already planned to come with Sensify in 2024!
@@EddieX I hope you're right. Traction control and ABS systems have kinda stalled in terms of development despite the better software engineering, computing power, and technology we have in place for better implementation. On a side note this is part of the reason I want F1 to bring back ABS and traction control. The sport has a history of spurring innovation.
Hey Eddie…thank you very much for the info. Will this system be available for Honda‘s, particularly Honda Civic SI‘s such as the 2009 to 2011 model. Spirited driving up in the mountains in Southern California and I would appreciate if you can give me some info from brembo If they are planning on producing anything for Honda. Much appreciated thanks
I love these types of improvements we will see in the future. Still waiting on a revised Bose suspension system from decades ago.
I remember seeing one of the development cars hidden in a garage when I was at Ford. Really wonder if that is going to ever come to market too!

Its really cool seeing technology like this finally advance!
Beautiful. How it different from ESC technology!

Not bad video. How would you compare this with the Bosh Motorsport M5 ABS?
Vanborghini could use torque vectoring. Can you ask HR for an upgrade please? It's to protect the littles.....?
Awesome !!
does it work even if car and engine is turned off?
I would have liked to know if this system blends with motor regeneration at low-g braking applications (ie. comfort mode)
From what I recall, the engineers said with EV applications regen braking will work
On Aircraft breaks too...
very nice video Eddie!
Thanks!

What fail safes are in this system... if a component fails, then what happens? ..isn't a total loss of braking possible?
there are still physical redundancies and fail safes. A total loss of braking would not be allowable.
So will this new brake technology become the new standard on all cars eventually or what? If so, when?
What happens if the car looses power? No brakes!?

Unfortunately it will not be available to retrofit into older vehicles
Thanks Eddie. It’s cool to actually to hear from you as many never reply. Much appreciated

So this guy’s question is apparently better than mines, eh?
@@CarsOverPeople what's with the attitude?
I think I'm in the wrong industry. I love all things cars, and yet I do not have anything to do with the industry. 🤷♂️
Never too late to switch!
