One thing is for sure, engineers will be jailed while the bean counters get the golden parachute

Bingo!! Boeing values MBA's vs Engineers.

Engineers? Hmm, do tell why you believe it is engineers who will be jailed given that it was production line personnel who performed the work on the door plug. I'm not seeing the connecting dots here.
4:35 Watch as the 'journalist' struggles to recite a few sentences he's been provided that are designed to obfuscate and skew the statistics. He struggles to correctly recite an improper and narrow statistical slice in order to sway the average idiot (and there are a lot of Trump voters; Bazinga!) who are easily swayed by the such improper statistics. Mark Twain said it best, "There are lies. There are damned lies! And there are statistics."

Missing bolt on airplane in this case isn't only negligent, it's a criminal act.

Before the upside down Alaska Airlines crash (88 people killed) a maintenance supervisor, frustrated at trying to work "in the system", got hold of the FBI. He has since been "let go" and can't find a job at all in the industry.

I’m sorry - did he say there’s only been one passenger fatality on a US line since 2001? That’s blatantly false.
American Eagle flight 3407 crashed in my NY town in 2009. All 49 people on the airplane were killed, plus one person in the house that the plane barreled through. American Eagle is the regional airline spun off from American Airlines. What was the cause? Pilot error.
Because of that incident, the families of the victims created an immensely successful grassroots movement for airline and pilot reform. This crash is the direct reason that pilots must now gain 1,500 hours of flight time before piloting a commercial aircraft, up from the previously required 250 hours.

@lukeb6771 - It was not an American Eagle flight that crashed in Clarence. It was Colgan Air operated as Continental Connection for Continental Airlines.

    • @jdm1039

Luke he also specified "Mainline airline" That excludes regional carriers. Colgan Air was a regional feeder airline, NOT a mainline airline.

Has absolutely nothing to do with the secretary of transportation and everything to do with the fact that Boeing, as a company, is rotten to the core. Ever since their merger with McDonnell Douglas, they've become everything that is wrong with modern corporate America. Instead of prioritizing engineering, they prioritize their shareholders. They've cut as many corners as possible in the pursuit of maximizing profits, and that's led to subpar products that have killed hundreds of people. The 737 MAX had two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019 (Lion Air 610 and Ethiopian Airlines 302) that to the type's first grounding in 2019.

They already said they will not let Boing certify there on planes, which has been happening for years. Now so now it has been done by the FAA people. The last aircraft was 22 years old, so it was a Maintenance issue, not a Boeing issue.
