There is no reason for a body cam to ever be turned off. There shouldn't even be a button to do so, and it should have redundant power supply to assure it stays on.

You're exactly right. And I'd like build on that just a bit, and add that another one out of the many reasons that the police cannot let it go, is because they've ALWAYS gotten away with that kind of behavior their entire careers. It's like dealing with very young children: If a child is behaving badly, and the parent(s) do absolutely nothing to correct the poor behavior, then why would the child ever think that they need to do anything differently? With police, it's even worse in some circumstances. Because the majority of the time, not only do they not get punished or reprimanded for abhorrent behavior...but a lot of the time, they actually end up getting REWARDED later on. Not they may not get rewarded solely due to that exact instance, but, a little down the line, all of a sudden they get a raise or a promotion which grants then even MORE power and LESS oversight. They then have even fewer people above them that have the power to hold them accountable.

That's true. Which is why they'll also do whatever they can to prevent your access to your phone if they can get away with it. My old roommate was beat up when two plainclothes officers barged their way in our house without identifying themselves. He had a simple traffic warrant, and as soon as they saw him they threw him down, they intentionally trashed our house and broke a bunch of things, and when I tried to reach for my phone, one of them threatened to break my arm if I touched it and pushed me down on the couch, made me just sit and watch. I don't EVER answer the door anymore if I'm not expecting someone. Opening for the police or even letting them know you're there is dangerous. In my state, police didn't have to have their own cameras on, and they got away with so much.
Keep your phone in your hand and already recording as soon as you know they're approaching, because they won't let you near it otherwise.

@@honzasenbauer612 It's because of things like earlier. Most people believe that if they don't have a confession, they can't be charged. This is why being quiet and lawyering up is usually the best course of action, if you really didn't do anything you're fine and sometimes can sue for damages, on the other hand if you are convicted the lawyer is going to be able to get evidence and things too due to court orders for the case and will know exactly how deep in the pot their would be suspected person would be and would be able to go for as reduced as sentence as possible based on what evidence the police have. This person is clearly someone that thinks they are smarter based on a little bit of research or knowledge from being in the system before.

They want that money. Very rare to hear about them capturing true criminals. Also they are supposed to stop pursuit when putting people's lives in danger. My 50 years on earth only one time have I seen an officer stop pursuit because he didn't want the victim on the motorcycle hurt or anyone else. Cops have killed and disabled so many people just by not stopping pursuits. They are not for the people's rights, peoples safety, just news reporters with a badge "uh where you heading to and where you coming from?" I cannot stand that question. It's also very unintelligent when they have to read the Miranda rights from a peice of paper. If you cannot remember those rights you should not be a cop because you probably don't know any rights.

Most police departments in the US have removed the slogan "To protect and serve" from their squad cars. They are absolutely not there to protect or serve. Their job is to screw over their fellow humans for the purpose of raising revenue for their perspective cities/counties/states. In my opinion, if a good person puts on a police uniform, it's no different than skinning a pig and wearing its hide. They are unclean because of their corruption. I would never point out the obvious by calling a cop a pig to his face, but if I did and they asked me why, I'd tell them that if they don't want to be called a pig, they need to stop wearing pig clothes and to get out of the hog pin they call a police station. The first Transformer movie had it right when they had "To Punish and Enslave" on the back of the Decepticon squad car.

That's what cops do. Admitting they are wrong is just something they seem unable to do. All the way to losing their job. District attorneys are the same. So many of them are unable to say they screwed up and put the wrong person in prison. One case, a man's DNA did not match up with a case of rape he was convicted for 20 years ago. Instead of letting the guy out of prison, the DA said he must have had a second guy with him! It's obvious the guy is innocent but the stupid DA is unable to admit he messed up. The same with the West Memphis 3. The DA still thinks those high school kids did it, even though they were released. Law enforcement just cannot admit they make mistakes!!

The video of the teen who kept requesting a breathalyzer seriously triggered me. About 5 years ago, I was an Uber driver and got a request in Bluffton SC. It was around 1am, bc that was usually my busiest time of night. I wasn't familiar with the area and was going to make a u-turn at the light when I saw a no u turn sign so I turned on my blinker and quickly got over to turn right at the light and turn around when the car behind me turned on his blue lights and a sheriff proceeded to pull me over. I explained to him I was an Uber driver and what had happened. He told me I had changed lanes quickly and asked if I had been drinking, which I had not. Then a Bluffton officer shows up. While the sheriff is asking me questions, the Bluffton cop goes to run my ID and plates. Then it gets crazy... the sheriff tells me he just got another call and needed to leave and the Bluffton officer was taking over. The sheriff deputy leaves and the Bluffton cop begins with asking if I'd had anything to drink or drugs, etc. He asks if I would do the breathalyzer and field sobriety which I did and passed. Then he asks if I had drugs in the car, I tell him I don't, that I'm just an Uber driver, trying to keep drunk people off the streets, he then tells me they're going to bring a drug dog to walk around my car. I said that was fine bc I had nothing to hide. Then they tell me the drug dog hit on something and I was floored. At that point, they proceeded to TRASH my car. They didn't find any drugs (shocker). So then they find two straws in the back seat of the car that my 2 year old daughter must have dropped between the car seat and the seat, that I hadn't noticed before. They said they were going to test them for drugs. By now, ALL OF BLUFFTON PD was there. I had been detained, in cuffs for TWO HOURS. I'm freaking out thinking they are going to try to find any reason they can to arrest me (I've never been arrested before). So, I ask the officer testing the "drug straws", when you test the straws and find NOTHING, then what? And the officers says, then I guess we'll let you go. To which the original officer shoots him a pissed off look. Needless to say, the straws didn't test positive for anything and I was released. That was the scariest thing I've ever had to go through. It was so obvious that officer was desperate to arrest me for something. I didn't even get a ticket because I hadn't broken any laws to even be pulled over. I asked around to see if there was anything I could do legally, and everyone told me that since I hadn't been arrested, it would be hard to do anything. Now, I don't EVER drive through Bluffton, S for fear of something like this happening again. I also quit being an Uber driver after that bc I was too scared to take requests at night after the incident and night is when you make the most money driving for ride share companies.
Oh, I forgot to mention, when I finally got back in my car, the Uber request was still active. Granted, I had been detained on the side of the road for close to 3 hours while the Bluffton Police Department treated me like a hardened criminal. I called the person to make sure she was OK and if she still needed me to come get her. When she answered the phone, she was HEAVILY intoxicated but could tell I was upset and asked me if I was ok. I told her a brief version of what had happened and she told me she was fine and had decided to just stay at her friend's house that night. I ended the call and the request and went home forever changed by a group of bored, corrupt Bluffton SC police officers.

I believe any charges law enforcement should face, should be felonies. Law enforcement should never get the privilege of a misdemeanor. They should be held at a higher standard for ‘knowing the law’ and still breaking it. Just to be fair, lawyers and judges should be held to the same standard. If you know and ‘uphold’ the law, any crime you commit should surpass misdemeanor.

    • @kingboo7784
      @kingboo7784 8 месяцев назад +8

@kaviramyead7987 that's what people are wanting when they say "defund the police". They want proper training done and I fully support the idea that anyone wanting to go into any capacity of law enforcement should go through some form of schooling, be trained to de-escalate situations and how to handle citizens that aren't neurotypical. Stating someone who's expertly knowledgeable in law is a lawyer is false, however. Every citizen should know and understand the law and their rights but being an expert in law does not necessarily make them a lawyer. And for what its worth, I'd be more than happy to pay for that with my taxes, especially if you consider I pay for what's in this video with my taxes already.

No it’s not crazy to watch them intentionally. If your a public servant and the only one to report job performance and knowledge of their job, knowing full well that in a second the “public servant” can destroy your life and time on something they make up on a whim. These “public servants” are the ones who label what them deem as “unlawful” and show what they only want to show. When they are at fault who are you going to complain to? These “public servants” who sit out and watch from a safe distance for small/possible “infractions”. So to sit out and upset the public and not to actually try to stop real crime is disgraceful. And all this information has to go in their favor “conflict of interest”

What you should do when being interrogated by the police:
    1. Have them start reading your Miranda Rights.
    2. When they say "You have the right to remain silent," say "Stop. I'm gonna do that."
    3. Don't say another word.

I doen't hurt to cooperate sometimes, especially when you're not guilty of anything. It always depends on the situation. If the cops are nice and calm there is no reason to provoke them. At worst you can get arrested and have to stay 48 hours for nothing.

It’s why I’m 37 with a beautiful daughter of 15 years, and a beautiful wife of 16 years. You have to be humble. I make more mistakes that most, but ego gets you in trouble. Confidence is completely different and essential.
