Absolute gold! Made me think back to when I first started. Would love to see you honour the deals and get their reaction to the video as well as you telling them who you actually are. Maybe turn up to the shoot with a full crew just to see their faces😂
Thanks dude! Spoiler alert, we did film one of them and I'll have that video coming out in a few weeks!! The downside is that they didn't want to talk on camera but were happy with the BTS in the video 😂 They were really confused to begin with and then excited (probably because they were getting more than they thought!) They are a really nice guys and hopefully we will be working together more over time too :) I'll keep you posted!
Enjoyed seeing these calls. I'm still building my experience in cold outreach but a couple of things I've learnt is to try and push back on emails and instead secure a second call at a future date and secondly have some kind of risk mitigation for theprospect in your offer, such as minimum is £500 but if we don't get you results in XX days then we'll give you a full refund and you can keep the footage. That might help someone, so thought I'd mention it.
Man, letting us see this is so underrated! This video gives me so much energy!! I just started my videomarketing business yet and I gained over thousands of ideas because of this video❤
Dude ill be honest, I am heavily thinking about finally making the plunge and starting my production business and this really got me hyped. Thanks for that
Your channel has so much value heaps of solid information I'm starting out at the moment and you have easily been the most informative video business RUclipsr that I've come across. Well done mate I appreciate your efforts!
I pretty much binge watched this series today while editing some client headshots, I love how excited you were about making those sales even though it's small change compared to what you're used to. Certainly an inspirational series for anyone wanting to start a production company! I think a good follow up series would be around kit. I know I followed the sensationalism and bought equipment and invested inefficiently at the start as I'm sure most have. A series having a look at different budget ranges and putting together a starter kit (with maybe even second hand options especially) for different kinds of video production, and a plan on how you would upgrade or invest to open new money opportunities now that you know what you used most often and what actually grew your company would help a lot of people starting their journey (and avoid some costly mistakes).
As an editor and dop doing a full time job, I’ve been slowly planning to move over to freelance and build a business around it. And your series and other sales and marketing videos have demystified so much for me and I’m so much more confident about my next moves because of your videos. Cheers to you mate, you’re a gem.
Mmme... Enjoyed that. With the 'real life' aspect, cleverly included, this makes it a very watchable format. Well done, dude - and I don't usually comment! PS. And a few leads for PStudios too 😉
This was really good, nice to hear your live phone calls. Last night I sent 8 emails and got one meeting in Kildare :):) Excellent work Ross :):) Sending emails is sooooo slow.... Zzzzzzzzz
Amazing. Thanks. I'm gonna start a podcast production company. Thanks for all the golden advices, applicable not only for video, but for other types of media companies as well. 🙌
This is fantastic. Thank you for this! I’ve been reading Alex Hormozis stuff and this is the kind of stuff he says to do. I do have a question: I have a pretty decent portfolio, what would you tweak about this outreach method if you already have proof you can do a good job?
Awesome! I would just use that to share examples and lean more on "can I send you over some stuff" or "would you be willing to get on a video call and I can show you what's been working for other people" 😊
Hi Ross, thanks for the great video! I just want to clarify what is the RCP system, I hear it a couple of times in your videos, but I didn't quite get it, could you perhaps explain in a bit more detail what the system entails?
To be fair, that's normally how it goes 😂 always ask them how much are they willing to invest and then you can now decide if you want to entertain a conversation 😊
I'm literally commenting as I watch this lol Its mad crazy that even in London clients lowball you. $300 -$400 is maybe for pre-production lol People will spend $300 on a date and not get any ROI out of it. $1000 is def a reasonable starting point but when you've gotta do what you've gotta do take what you can.
How much do you actually charge for a production video? Youre talking low numbers, but its normal as you have 'no portfoio'. So, how much does your production company typically charge? Do you have a website ?
Sent a DM weeks ago on your IG. no response. emailed, no response. how to join your course/academy? I don't have the time to watch a long webinar and I'm in the US so time zone is not ideal. thank you.
this is interesting and good content, starting from scratch, and getting clients to commit to the 300-500 mark. it is just my negative framing thinking it is all a bit of BS. like working with poor music artists for music videos. is any of it even worth it? factoring in time, equipment, shooting editing, etc. like minimum wage. lol
Haha! It can get you feeling like that, I know, but maybe broaden your work to get the money rolling in eg. Corporate sector and then you can go back to your true passion without the need to make lots...plus you'll then have money to make banger videos and get paid more in the long run because people will want to work with you!!!
I'm sad if that's your only take home from the series. I'd imagine 99% of people who want to start a production company already have access to a laptop and either a camera or camera phone. The point being you can make sales first and then invest that money into hiring a camera etc. Most people spend thousands on cameras and then have no work 😂
Bro you missed the entire point of the video. He didn't have to buy equipment for this new business so he did start it with $0 lol. I'm sure someone has before but, I've never met anyone who started a photo or video business and they didn't already have a camera.
I'm learning alot about what not to say watching this tbh. You gotta sound a bit more confident mate. Lotta ums, lotta directions I feel you shouldn't have gone. That being said there is some other gold in here

Love this! Yes, it also makes it easier for the conversation to flow and totally agree. Thanks for sharing!!
This training is so good! for those watching don't just watch! do what he says while he teaches!
Thanks Charlie! Appreciate it dude

Great idea too! Let's see what we can do in the future 😊🔥

You will be died in hunger😂😂
Thanks!!! I'm so happy it's making a big difference for you!
@@kop0164 not everyone is worthless like you lol. I can afford to start a business, you look homeless with stock photos for content.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment dude! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. :D
Earned a subscriber just from this series, hopefully you further implement things to it in the future
I appreciate that!

"Great content, Ross! It's very motivating for us as filmmakers. Thanks!"
My pleasure carlos!
This was so helpful! Thank you!!!
Nice video, some useful bits! Also interesting what a small world it is; you have some of my current clients on your lead gen list :)
I hope I didn't steal them 😂😂🙏🏼
I’d love to see the final videos!
Sweet series man! 🤠
Thanks dude! That'll be coming in the next few weeks 😁
This is amazing, Ross!
Thanks dude 🙏🏼😊
Thanks for doing this. Such an inspiration to watch you go through everything and even landing a few clients.
These 3 videos are amazing, thanks for taking the time and creating them. Absolutely great, inspiring and helpful :D
Amazing. Thanks. I'm gonna start a podcast production company. Thanks for all the golden advices, applicable not only for video, but for other types of media companies as well. 🙌
Awesome dude! Thats great to hear. Best of luck - hopefully I'll do more like this for different creative businesses!
Very educational video. Great work!!

so so so good. keep thesde coming@!!!!
hahaha! thanks so much!!!
Absolutely brilliant! Your videos are so helpful
You're also very likeable ! i wish i could sound like you do during sales meetings & calls , LOL
Thanks! It just takes practice 😊
Most people in my town get straight to the : how much do you charge? Send me your prices to see if I can afford you 😂

😂 totally! "But I can do it on my phone" ... well good luck 😂
@@RossWelch Haha right! Even with an iPhone I’d rather hire Steven Spielberg to shoot with an iPhone vs doing it myself 😂
Prices like that are harder to push for here in the UK sadly
i've spend half a day back and forth on this video. wow
Haha! Awesome dude!
How did you find leads for businesses that could actually use your service?
Hey dude, check the video before (live lead gen and sales) 🤘
Does this work if you're starting a brand new social media account?
Can we reachout those who make finance video like that....
Yes! 100%

You can't say with zero dollars when you already have quite a lot of equipments - laptop, and cameras.
