I remember when Mike V premiered Drive in San Jose. He asked me to take tickets for him, at the end he hooked it up with an autographed VHS copy. After the movie he asked to use my board, but once he stood on it the trucks were a little too tight so he used someone else's board and busted out a raw ass demo. He taught a few of us how to pop the board up and balance it on our foot. Good times
that was back when there was a GoSkate on Almaden Expressway. What ever happened to Dale The Dad?

I remember about almost 20 years ago Mike V came to Tucson Arizona, my hometown with the Black Label team and Dead Alive demo at our crappy skatepark. It was pretty cool. I snapped my board and half and he looked at me like I was crazy taske to have a board with wheels on it! LOL might be pretty cool one of my old time favorites O G 's. Man we're getting old. I took like a 15-year break from skating when I went through my electrical apprenticeship but I got back on the board at 36 years old. Learning to go vert and dropping in

Ehhh. Debatable. He has no ground game against someone with experience in jiu jitsu or other forms or martial arts, and his stand up fighting that he said in his own words were "you have to take a punch to give one" meaning you just exchange punches like he does in hockey. Also if you watch his videos of him fighting, he is not very accurate in his shots. He has the mentality, but his skills are not up to par.
Mann.. It never ceases to amaze me how you can say something positive or compliment someone and some male expert has to come along and tell you his expert opinion. And they are always an expert. I remember that photo: late '86, School W, Mike had the red Iron Cross Life's A Beach beret; just like Liston says, he was literally kicking himself in the ass (plus the front foot was perfectly straight); he was riding a Welinder street, which was completely vertical, with the tail at least 15 inched off the ground. It's the textbook definition of airwalk on street.
