I appreciate you claiming the car to be "underpowered". It means you didn't buy it for sheer speed, but because you genuinely enjoy the vehicle. It's nice to still see this in the car community, that's what cars are *supposed* to be about.
I’m a muscle car guy, and I was surprised, this is hands down one of the best sounding V6s I’ve heard. Normally it just sounds like a loud fart cannon, but this actually has tone and depth.
Many V6's have lovely engine notes, it's just because of fleet volume truck 4300 V6's and Pentastars that they have a bad 'sound' reputation imo. The 3.6L V6 in the current Camaro, Audi's supercharged 3.0L V6, and the Audi/Porsche 2.9L TT-V6 are additional examples of great-sounding V6's. The exhaust setup in the recently refreshed F150 Raptor sounds quite good too.
That color in person is absolutely stunning. The videos and pictures do it no justice. It breaks my neck whenever I see that color. Beautiful car in general as well
Of course we all love more horsepower but it’s not an Acura thing to throw all the power at something. At the end of the day, it’s a track inspired vehicle and will likely beat out its competitors there. And for 100K miles

Even the civic si’s, a car that gets freaking gapped by the Kia Soul, on proper 200tw challenges this type s so freaking hard It sounds great. Looks nice. But Acura’s attempt was a sad one imo.
I was about to make a comment saying that the Type S is not a M3 and is half the price...But then realized the IS500 with 472HP is in the same price range (although about 10% more)
This car is beautiful love the paint and love how you kept the stock look of the car while only making minor changes and have you ceramic coated the car cause the shine is amazing on it
Awesome new gen. Honda just makes great pieces of engineering. Had a 2nd Gen CRV and loved it like my baby. Full service record of everything done to it from 2003-2018. 16 yr old blew a stop sign and totalled it. :/ Got a 2nd gen TL absolutely love the TL family. saving up for either a 3/4th gen Type S or a Fit sport. Great to see the newer TLXs have enthusiasts build these cool sedans up.
I didn’t expect this car to sound bad when it first came out, I expected it to be a bit quiet.. You my friend have got the right mods. I love that idle. If it had some crackles and pops it would be chefs kiss🤌🏾
Car sounds great. Looks great as well. RDX is totally hot, IMO that blue is the hottest color out there right now. I personally have a 1997 NSX, Monte Carlo blue. All original. One of 34 Monte Carlo blue NSX’s produced for the world.
i saw a brand new white one of these a few days ago... soo clean. i have a 2005 acura tsx rn with FBO (almost), i could see this as being a possible future vehicle.
I own a 2016 VW GOLF R, APR stage 1 93 high torque with the DSG tune as well. I raced a TLX Type S in Mexico who was JB4 tuned and he was not far behind me (maybe a car, car and a half.) I love these cars. They look fantastic and sound great when opened up with an exhaust. Great looking/sounding car man!
I looked at these, couldn't find one in my price range, was looking for 1 a year or a little under old. This was recently, so the market was/is extremely fucked up and they were all trying to rip my head off on a cash purchase. I gave up after searching for 4 or 5 months and went a totally different direction and bought a '17 Focus RS, had it for 1 week and 3 days, totalled....Got the check for that, which they came within 900 dollars of what I paid for it (I almost passed out from disbelief,) and took my 30k altogether and bought a '18 Lexus IS350 RWD, and I have a Rotrex Centrifugal S/C ordered, I'll hopefully be putting around 460 rear wheel HP, can't wait!
That’s a beautiful car I test drove the Aspec in red exterior and loved it but ultimately decided to go for the RDX Aspec Advance also on red, now I’m working with my sales person to get the new integra Aspec with Tech package, I want to keep the integra as my daily driver and keep the RDX for long hauls.
Looks great and your mods are tasteful. I'm interested to hear how the JB4 works for this platform. I have a G70 3.3T and JB4 is pretty good for the Stinger/G70 platform.
I think for what the car is, it looks beautiful and drives great. It isnt cheap by any means so i guess i see why people want "more" power than it has for its spot to be competitive in class. But to each their own, i think its a sweet ride and you have a great setup
Did you get a tune? If not you aren’t making any more power. Louder doesn’t mean faster. You probably gained some agility if you upgraded your wheels and tires but that’s about it. Either way it looks pretty cool and so does the suv next to it. I like the grill and the body lines. Right now I have a newer Mazda3 HB and a newer MX-5.

I do like the Type S but I couldn't justify the price for the small increase in performance, especially since I don't get on the throttle. I love my A Spec 2022 TLX, it has plenty of zip to move around in traffic. The wife and took the car down the west coast, up through the Rockies and through Yellowstone. I never got any driving fatigue. This car almost drives its self. It's just a pleasure to drive. People complain that it is slower than the Genesis, Audi, BMW and Infiniti but the TLX is a superior car in every way but straight line acceleration. Those other brands will be in the shop far more than the Acura and they have a very poor re-sell value, if they are still on the road at 100k miles.
Couldn’t agree more. Between the performance, luxury, safety features and reliability, it’s the perfect sedan in this class. No it’s not the fastest but it’s WAYYY more comfortable than what it competes with.

I wouldn’t say this is underpowered car,but mostly overweight car,this is a 4200lbs car and that is due to the awd system,remove some weight out of it and then it’ll be a different story,and for me this is the most sexy looking car in the segment 🔥🔥

New Axle-back section is all you need. Stock exhaust flows just fine, but the mufflers are designed to kill the sound. Not sure what the market is out there for the mdx, but someone has made something. Or, like the poster said, lose/cut off the mufflers and have a small straight pipe put in

Great looking vehicle and tasteful mods. I've driven the Infinti Q50/Q60 Redsports and Nissan GT-R but i think for a daily driver I'd choose this. Was disappointed in the new Integra but Acura nailed it with the TL-X Type S 👍
I think Acura nailed it with the Integra Type S. That car was well thought out and much more competitive in its class. This car isn't, unfortunately. I had high hopes when it was first announced and was considering it to upgrade my 2020 A-spec but then I saw the asking price and read the reviews. It was a disappointment. That said, many owners love their cars and believe they made the right choice. I'm waiting to see what the refresh brings although it's highly unlikely I'll get one even if there's improvements beyond the aesthetics.
Sounds amazing. New tlx looks amazing, I always break my neck when I see one out in the wild. If i had a family & the money 😂 I'd also love to get the new RDX 😍

@@Jay-oz9qm I'm told you pull the jb4 prior to dealer service....not sure I believe that. If the dealer is looking, they will check certain parameters like increase torque, to blow whistle. The Jb4 only increases boost by 4.5 so its pretty conservative.
Its a shame that this car is underpowered, i really wanted it but after learning the specs its just not worth it for me. Amazing car either way but i just wish it wasn’t so underpowered compared to the competition

I did not have it ceramic coated. I use a really nice sealant when I wash it so that keeps the shine
this thing is so nice! beautiful spec and some really tasteful mods, muffler delete went much better than on some cars lol

Its not fast but it's such a good looking car and sounds so good even with stock exhaust. Hate that Acura made it so heavy still a great car.

Just picked up the 2022 TLX - Modern Metallic Steel Tech package. It's the 2.0 DOHC turbo so it's not type-s but absolutely love the car!

ONLY “mod” that car needs is a proper stick shift manual, the Integra is going to crush it in the sales dept

They could’ve cranked it up but Honda is known for coming very detuned. Just give me more tuning potential :)
