I recently have seen several times two bald eagles soaring above my work (In Kansas) and it makes me think of Shadow and Jackie midday when they're not at the nest, probably doing the same!
I am so in Heart, Love and soul to can see our Shadow and Jackie. These are both are special and amasing eagles. My heart is full of sunshine and joy tears when I can see the Sweetheart,health and well. I am so glad, that they can stay now fine and safe without dangerous fire and weather Katastrophes.Many heartfelt greetings to all Jackie and Shadow friends. Yes, so very heartbreaking. Nox was my little pipsqueek, and he was a pip from the moment he hatched. Nox was special and stole everyone's heart. Seeing Jackie and Shadow attending to their nest today is very comforting. Their antics always makes me smile too. @@DoloresHeron-rs6dx

Maybe the pine cone is a sharpening tool for the beaks... or maybe it's gonna patch a divit in the center of the nest.... or maybe as others have said, maybe it's a dry run for maneuvering when the eggs come.... so many possibilities! I love these birds❤❤❤❤❤❤
Whatever she was thinking, one was enough as she only brought one--many more under the base of nest tree. To S, Believe it's a bonding agent of Love between the two of them. Each evening is such an event for both. Both finally have their footwork down pat for a rear door exit. Thanks Cali. I wonder if pinecone is bug repellent? Pinecone sap is sticky and smells very strong ? Ever heard of pine-solution for cleaning? Such good housekeeping 😅

I have actually noticed most every nest I've seen has a pinecone. Not sure if it is a toy or something eagles use for measuring. Very interesting tho.
