Whether you loved these guys 30+ years ago or more recent, they continue to ROCK!! 'Seven' is an excellent Winger album.

I totally agreed with everything you say. This is an awesome album! I also had it for a couple of weeks and just can't stop listening to it. And i'm not an old fan even if i always knew about them but i think this is in the race for album of the year when we write our best of 2023 lists in December.

In my opinion Winger has never released a bad or so so album ever. I love all their albums big time and have loved the band ever since they came out 35 years ago when i was ten years old. So far Karma and Better Days Comin are my favorite albums, but that might change after a few more listens of Winger 7. It is another amazing album! I have always loved this band and I always will.

Good summary; I'd say that this is definitely a top 3 Winger album after a few listens. Like you alluded to song construction is at an advanced level and there are layers and complexities in the music to break down and contemplate. I know that you brought up Reb's contributions and I like his playing as always here, but I do feel like there were key places where solos could have been extended or intensified just a tad. I know that he takes more of a crafty approach on newer Winger material for what he feels is the right blend however I also like the free-wheeling manner in which he plays lead guitar on Black Swan. Resurrect Me and It All Comes Back Around are my favorites in these early stages; the former sounds like Junkyard Dog (the first part) mixed with an extra dose of anthem poppyness. I would say that this combines Karma, Pull, and the self-titled debut album most prominently. I also noticed that the progressive songs were more concentrated for the last third of the album, which works well I think to close that way.
