Neighborhood engineer here...the Camaro seems to shift "quicker" in automatic because shift logic, shift times, etc. are different in automatic vs manual mode. The two modes use different methods of controlling the shift whether it be shift time, which cluthces are used when, and the type of pressure control being used. For example, if you're flooring it from 7th, the gears it "goes through" to get to your final gear, probably 2nd or 3rd, may be different than if you were in manual mode. If you share the same offgoing clutch from your current gear to command gear, you can essentially jump straight to it. The car has been sorted out to keep you in the right gears at the right time and is controlled to take the most efficient way down to the gear you want where as in manual, you get total control but are more limited to certain paths of gear flow.
Nice to see the 10 speed used here, never thought it would be used in this application when I was programming the machine that made the gears used in the transmission.
that amg is a nice car, but here in switzerland you can see that car at every corner driven by some wannabe gangsters. either that or BMWs.. they're everywhere, so it's nothing special anymore
Also de Camaro would be cheaper to fix down the line, when the merc starts throwing codes and the dash looks like a Xmas tree you're doomed. The Camaro at least you can keep it beyond warranty.
@David Farley they WERE shit reliability. Now the Americans are the new Japanese. Not paying attention to automotive mechanical engineering and industry trends, are you? GM is p0wning just about everyone on the market right now.

You're getting better and better...really like watching your reviews. For this one, I'd consider the "normal" ZL1 not 1LE being the better fit for this comparism. But in total, I'd go with your opinion. In the end, I'd take the ZL1 over the C63S any time even as a German. Can't be though paying way over €100K for having a car that's decently equipped - and then seeing it in every stupid corner of the city having way less power but a FAKE exhaust (all the so-called German premium brands are all alike in this - take a look underneath). Just hating it! With the Camaro you get an engine that's gonna last because of big displacement. All that the premium brands do is putting another turbo in it or increasing its pressure level. And when you really go on throttle there's still a huge lack of power delivery before the cars start pulling. Besides that, all of them overpriced vehicles have quality issues when you really take a deeper look and feel.
Driving the ZL1 1LE over the train tracks in track mode, smooth move guys, smooth move(and AMG sedans/coupes a few years ago had a rougher, more unsettled ride compared to a gen6 SS, SS 1LE, ZL1 with magride according to some automotive journalists).

The power is actually closer than they think. Mercedes has a tendency to rate their cars close to what they make at the wheels, whereas companies like Chevrolet will rate them using true BHP. And this! 😍
You might not remember me Yuri, but I use to own a Lexus IS-F and you commented on one of my videos at TMP. I know recently got a 2019 Camaro ZL1 and I'm in heaven. It's truly a supercar in muscle car clothing, the power is absolutely intoxicating, I love it!
Jakub. I remember you haha awesome
C63 for sure but the camaro sounds insane!!
Thanks Science man! Makes sense
Nice to see the 10 speed used here, never thought it would be used in this application when I was programming the machine that made the gears used in the transmission.
I prefer dual clutch transmissions.
Isn't that the Ford 10 spd transmission in the Camaro?
dieselturk yes, along with the Cadillac ct6.
that is a beast of a transmission
You are everything I fight against as far as automotive engineering is concerned. Give me a manual transmission and a clutch pedal or give me death...
Love their vids and they’re both just more entertaining than most other car reviewers in my opinion
that amg is a nice car, but here in switzerland you can see that car at every corner driven by some wannabe gangsters. either that or BMWs.. they're everywhere, so it's nothing special anymore
Here in america it’s pretty damn rare, unless you live in a big car city like LA, NYC, Miami, Houston, etc
Kevin Sosa lmaooo that ain’t rare at all go to ny Ull see nothing but bmws and amgs nothing is rare unless it was limited made and crazy expensive shi
Here in the US it’s the other way around...
Same with camaros and mustangs in usa 😉
The Merc looks like a mini crossover next to the ZLE.....haha
“I feel like the sun happens everyday.” Killed me 😂😂
You guys successfully compared apples to oranges.

Yuri out here channeling DMX.
"Throw in a cage, paint it red ... ARGH ARGH ARGH"
Tool Time featuring DMX
Yeah, that wasn't DMX...
Agreed, that was awesome!
I know most people like the sound of the camaro more, but something about that deep rumbling exhaust on the c63 just sounds incredible to me
So this is what 1 Mil subs gets us...
Niiceeee💯
That's why we kept trying to get to 1M
Also de Camaro would be cheaper to fix down the line, when the merc starts throwing codes and the dash looks like a Xmas tree you're doomed. The Camaro at least you can keep it beyond warranty.
@David Farley they WERE shit reliability. Now the Americans are the new Japanese. Not paying attention to automotive mechanical engineering and industry trends, are you? GM is p0wning just about everyone on the market right now.
Supercharger beats twin turbos in the sound department for medium to large displacement engines IMO
The 2015 c63S has larger turbos and better exhaust
@@swachyw.4447 still would take the supercharger
@@romulas-cushmanproject3273 No doubt, but imagine the 6.2 AMG engine with a supercharger
2000 muscle car: ew ricer with wings
2020 muscle car: big wing. big front spoiler, i want what honda has.
There’s a big difference between functional and useless plastic glued all over the car my man 🤦♂️
Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe
Great as always, guys!
I think it's time for these comparisons to include rolling races and such!!
Amazing
“Visor test because I feel like the sun happens every day.” 😂😂
One of the coolest automobile car reviewer on you tube.
It was a 1LE you got the track focused version that's pretty cool
NOTHING BUT WHEELSPIN
That’s a solid launch....
Sheesh you guys are going wild on the video
"1 mill and chill" was a lie so everyone would underestimate us again
How 1 day ago ????

Tulus Putra oh ok
I work at a Chevy dealership and I have to say that the ZL1 really puts a smile on your face. I am just 18 cleaning cars but damn if I didn't whip that thing around the lot before parking it. Definitely buying one when I'm rich.
Besides that, all of them overpriced vehicles have quality issues when you really take a deeper look and feel.
hey. do you still stand by this? Im considering the Camaro 2SS 1LE over a C63s coupe.
Both are great ! Don’t forget you can always get a tune for the c63 for easy gains.
Everytime they use launch control they have the same face I make when I finish
Congrats on surpassing 1 mil subs, guys!! Been a subscriber for a few years now... You two have come a long way. Congratulations 🍾🎊🎉
Camaro looks like a Transformer. Funny how the Mercedes has Chevy symbols on the steering wheel.
Lol, I was thinking the same thing!
Best seats ever in the zl1. Drove for a whole week on a road trip and never got a sore back.
Yesss finally been waiting on seeing that Mercedes 🤤
Driving the ZL1 1LE over the train tracks in track mode, smooth move guys, smooth move(and AMG sedans/coupes a few years ago had a rougher, more unsettled ride compared to a gen6 SS, SS 1LE, ZL1 with magride according to some automotive journalists).
Well done Chevy for upping your game and creating an absolute BEAST. Personally I would prefer the more grown up AMG (I'm just a creature comfort).
I loved that the Benz was in a Matte Black colour, like it wants to be a sleeper... And then Camaro comes squealing by yelling "LOOK AT MEEEEEEE" 😂😂😂 Congrats again on 1M!!!
Bro the ZL1 1LE has the C63 for breakfast, the M4 for lunch and the RS5 for dinner...
"At the track"
Haha you're so right 😉😉👌
Lol we all know it’s still garbage at cornering cause it’s a driving brick

@@shaziaansari3150 So your argument is that all the cars under it, numerous porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Paganis etc are garbage at cornering as well?
I’m glad y’all did this comparison. This is a no brainer comparison to me lol great video!
"That McLaren we just tested totally sucked when you floored it in automatic." OK say the 99.9% of all car owners....
Zl1 1le all the way. I have a white in manual and it's a monster.
You guys need to do a Shelby GT350 review.
Netflix and chill.............hell nah, it's watching Thestraightpipes and chill lol.
Camaro ZL1 one of my favourite cars 😄❤️
The camaro's power band is incredible, it pulls so much harder and instantly...at least while rolling!
what an interesting comparison
Only RUclips channel that I actively think about and look forward to each video on the scheduled days - I’d love a mustang 10 speed auto review and an LC500 V8 review
“Oohh..here we go...... hooolllyyy ffuuuuuuuu...”
Your videos are getting better..happy to see you guys growing however I think a better competitor to the Camaro is the BMW M8 competition or the Benz s63 coupe
I couldnt look at the camero’s tail lights without feeling sick
why? because they look like the new Corvette 🤣
Keyboard Warrior not necessarily its just fantastically ugly
It’s a shame because that’s all you’ll see
Tail lights are awesome on the Camaro
Yea idk what they were thinking
Jakub and Yuri This is by Far the BEST! video the Chevrolet ZL1 1LE and the Mercedes C63S coupe loved it👍👍👍👍
That Benz goes up against the Camaro SS 1le
exactly. and most ppl here dont seem to know that. Zl1 1LE is on another performance level.
That’s why it beat twice right
@@sergiosalgado1630 1le is 30 seconds faster than the c63s around Nürburgring, I could make and eat a whole sandwich after the camaro finished and the c63s still wouldnt be done lmao.
the SS 1LE is way heavier and less power and cost only 40,000 dollars, ZL1 1LE is better match.
The power is actually closer than they think. Mercedes has a tendency to rate their cars close to what they make at the wheels, whereas companies like Chevrolet will rate them using true BHP. So in reality, the C6S is likely putting somewhere around 500whp down in stock form and the Camaro will likely be somewhere around 560-580whp. Not quite the power difference that most folks think.
