Jordan! (Houdini FX TD here) The Houdini Keyframe issue! Its a type of tween (not sure why theres a keybind for it, kinda dumb), if you look in your animation editor you will see the spline go linear from frame 1 up until frame 2, then straight up/down to the value. You dont need to restart, just delete the key on the anim editor and put a new one down. The other thing you can do is change the spline curve type in the editor, but sometimes that doesnt work. Hope this helps :)

This isn't a challenge of CGI vs reality, this is a challenge of age and self discipline to not say the word dude
Perfect comment
@@FrotLopOfficial I see what you did there.
*EVERYTHING!* is a challenge of age and self discipline 😌
It’s way harder for Jordan because he is talking way more
The whole dude rule was lame.
4:03 "NOBODY IS TOUCHING MY BALLS"
I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW NOBODY NOTICED IT XD
I mean, that was the joke haha? He didn't do that by accident
I thought it was funny he said Koby whenever he missed, like you're crashing and burning like a helicopter haha
I think at this point you could get the actual Dude Perfect group in, and they could conquer a dozen trick shots in the time it takes Jordan to do an insane one.
We would LOVE that!
Idk behind the scenes sometimes it takes them a loooong time to do their tricks. They just edit out all the other tries.
Still would be fun to see that as a video tho!
@@FukaiKokoroeah true. Dude Perfect isn't famous for making tough trick shots so easily, they are famous for sticking to absurd trick shot concepts and delivering it no matter how many times it's a near miss.
Their paper slide off table into shredder shot wrecked, I think Coby.
And within 5 seconds of starting Jordan has said BOTH dude AND perfect. Well done.
he is just too PERFECT my DUDE
He says dude so often, they even missed a couple in post .
Jake is a lawyer, trickshot master, actor, disguise expert, prop maker, producer, batman, superman, spiderman, jason bourne, just to name a few. He truly is a Jake of all trades.

how can one man be so good at throwing balls, and the other man be so bad at not saying the word "dude", it's truly incredible. great video!
Using wind only in specific places and at specific points in time is like putting another object into the scene that helps steer the ball to the target
At that point just keyframe it in lol
If Jordan doesn't say dude every five minutes, he explodes.
"dude that's so perfectly true. "- Jordan, probably
IKR haha I noticed that Jake basically just stays silent and concentrates but Jordan just panics and can't stop talking xD
Yeah dude
If he'd just NOT talk, he'd ace it.
He's like Steve-o
The invisible lid on the virtual cup was nuts.
When booleans say nope.
@@BooleanCorporationIt's not booleans actually. In short: In simulation the actual geometry is replaced (by default) with a simpler geometry that essentially treats the object like a solid for easier sim calculation. BUT the main drawback of this method is it's inaccurate with surfaces with holes and concave surfaces. So all Jordan did was switch the method of this "proxy geometry generation" to a method that better suits his needs.
Im surprised they say Kobe when they're losing, like they're crashing and burning? It's funny but wow haha
@@KaladinVegapunk They were saying Kobe to hype themselves up with the shots, not because they were crashing and burning. Lol.

The "Bezier()" written in the Houdini's parameter channel means that you are in, let's call it mode, when it shows you the expression which drives the parameter. If you click on the parameter name it should come back to normal and show you the actual current values of the parameter. Sometimes when one changes the expression to a certain value and makes a keyframe it results a stepped animation. Most likely on the video, Alt + LMB was pressed in different order, so Jordan most likely has pressed LMB on the parameter name, so it got into expression mode, then he has keyframed it, so It became a stepped Bezier curve. One can do several things in this situation: delete channel and start all over again with this parameter, or select problem keyframes in keyframe editor and press "Bezier handles", so it will come back to normal.
Hahahahahahahaha Jordan doing the triple dude without even realizing it was happening was peak hilarity. I couldn't stop laughing.
He got stuck in the loop
I think Jordan should fine tune his aiming system and do the next one with no wind. The wind seems like too easy of a trick to use when (I think) the main challenge is if he can simulate the trick faster than Jake can practice and pull it off.
agree - and its kinda cheating - sure, indoors do have some small currents but really it can't be called "wind" - in most cases it wouldn't se strong enough to move table tennis ball that much - so adding an element that barely exists in the environment is littlebit cheating - its almost the same as adding one more obstacle helping to bounce the ball on the cup/box - if adding new elements that don't exist is possible then why not physical objects as well? its close to same logic - if one isn't allowed then the other one shouldn't either
Exactly, Jordan has the benefit of precise variable control (direction, velocity, etc) he should be limited to the same factors that Jake has control of in the real world not be able to have sudden gusts of wind at specific points of time
My guess is it will be added as a new rule for the next one.
he could just make a stack of hundreds of slightly differently angled balls and pick out the one that lands
If Jake could control the wind, he would. Yet his pathetic meat body is unable to conjure helpful gusts. The power to harness the wind is reserved for the masters of the digital world. This test shows that puny meat is weak, digital life is master of the universe.
I love how the "Dude Perfect" rule is the only thing holding CGI back. XD
I love how the "wind" is the only reason CGI won. XD
@@thekingofmeeps Yeah. Wind is a cheat tbh. If he could keep his mouth shut, he wouldn't have needed for wind :)
@@cihadturhan Wind or not, it's CGI, you do what you need to make it believable, I think he would had to actually render it and be realistic as you don't need to render real life video.
@@NoobieLandCity But then it would probably be faster to just animate a ball in nuke or something i did that once for vfx class it was fun and looked quite convincing
NGL, but wind is low key OP. It is a closed room so there is no wind. Please nerf for the next time 😂
It's def cheating. Imagine if Jake brought in a leaf blower.
yea, the wind makes it cheap. He would be on the first one for waaaay longer otherwise
@@Mr12Relic yea, it'd be like if Jake had those machine sorters that use infrared to see misshapen candies, and a puff of air to blow the candy off the conveyor belt. But it would see when the ping pong ball wasn't going exactly in the cup, and puff the air...... wait... this sounds like a Mark Rober crossover video in the making...
The realisation about the wind in the first one was hilarious to watch, and the discomfort over using it in this one was also funny, but I'd also like to see that progress to no wind in the third one (or maybe he can have wind but doesn't get to change it over time, only a constant wind value that applies for the entire shot)
Yeah, wind and the aim assist(velocity line?) takes the challenge out of it.
As an Albertan, Jake calling the Slapstick Ball Slap Challenge "the Calgary Stampede" is just hilarious 🤣
i agree it was super funny to see the calgary stampede mentioned in a video
As a Calgarian i am quite proud. ❤
Love calgary!
Alberta represent! ❤ 😊
Yeah I was like what the shit? Not expecting to hear that in any random youtube video 😊
Please bring on #3. No Wind, and initial variability added to the bounce surfaces. Then it's an even match. 😊
Also, Jake has to talk non-stop like Jordan, and his filler words need to be banned too. Then it's a fair match!
It is not about an even match, it is about utilizing the advantages of vfx and testing it out to see if it actually works better than in real life.
@@lone_berserker Exactly. The way they are doing it is already nerfing vfx a lot. He could just have an emitter firing a constant stream of balls and tweak the values in real time until they start hitting. Could probably do each challenge in about 2 minutes. That wouldn't be as fun to watch, tough.
@@williamreinhard Would be cool to see tho. One person's field vs a field of all people throwing balls at the same time
You guys need to do a challenge to see who is the studio's Steven Seagal
An assault course they have to do in chairs would be funny. But I think the video would be demonetised

6:10 "theres a lid on it DUDE" goes completely unnoticed but since the software was rigged, I think we can look past it
Literally didn't even notice it in editing 😂
Ok, can we see a DP an CC collab with DP trying to do the hardest trick shot, and CC has to turn out a fully rendered photo realistic version, and see who gets it first?
Jordan Allen is Pure Entertainment and Jake's skills are such next level! Thats a cool series to watch 😂🔥
Jordan has quickly become my favorite on the Corridor crew, my god ... the face of death at 8:05 had me in tears. Love these videos! keep it up
We all know this is just CG artist vs machine learning. Jake can't hide it forever.
The stark tonal contrast between the calm, collected Jake and his Zen repetitive attempts versus Jordan's frantic, frenzied MacGyvering is what really makes this series work. Also, shout-out to whoever decided to keep the Dwarf Planet sign at 00:56.
Jake is clearly the protagonist, and Jordan the antagonist.
Idea to up the ante in the next one: Use a shock device to alert them of when they've said the magic words to up their stress levels and add to the hilarity. It also might help break Jordan of his "Dude" addiction, lol!
I was thinking that in the week before the next challenge, Jordan needs to rig up a device that shocks him every time he says "dude", to break him of the habit for good. ;-)
You could use a particle emitter to constantly stream balls and make the adjustments and never need the cheaty wind.
Awesome video - would love to see a part 3. Next time, I'd suggest a rule where no key frames are allowed for the simulation - All scene properties have to be set at frame zero and left to run. That still gives full control over the scene properties (gravity, wind, bounce, friction, etc.), but no nudging the ball in flight by animating the wind value.
This is a fun way to tie the RUclips personalities of the crew to the theme of the channel while participating in content that would otherwise totally jump the shark. Good job, Analytics team!
Love this series! Need #3 ASAP!
I love these videos
Can't wait for the next satisfying render challenge
Right? Love the suspense, the story behind it, the revenge, the comedy of Jordan saying dude 3x in a row LOL. Its perfect and I truly hope they build on this and make it a series. Jake vs Jordan, Human vs machine. So so good!
So glad you guys did another one of these, I loved the first one. Keep up the great work.
May this competition never stop.

Jakes corridor videos are the absolute best on the channel I’ve decided it
We need more constraints for the physics simulation! What are the values on the balls, the materials.
I want to see a competition where those values are set from the start and he only has initial velocity and direction to play with
I'm not convinced Jordan would have much of a chance if he was constrained that much. And in fairness, the original conceit is that Dude Perfect are so skilled that they look like they fake their shots with CG, so as long as Jordan outputs an animation of him scoring the shot he still wins by that standard (although I would be happy to see some added constraints like no wind, or no dynamic wind).
Exactly. If you can change the properties of the ball between bounces, then you're not simulating anything. You might as well just animate it going in the cup.
@@owensparks5013 He's not changing the properties of the ball though - the different bounce characteristics are being set through changing the properties of the boxes, which is technically something that could be done physically in the real world as well by modifying the surfaces of the actual boxes
@bosstowndynamics5488 Fair point, but I'm still against it. Jake's available parameters were speed, direction, and spin. We didn't see him glueing different surfaces to the boxes or adding fans... Either it's a simulation, or it isn't.
@@owensparks5013 The entire point of the exercise is that Jordan has more levers though - it's based on the assumption that many people have that Dude Perfect videos are faked with CGI. Working under that theme Jordan is already quite constrained since the assumption they're working off of here is of animation and he has to at least use physics. Remember the trade off here is that nothing Jordan is doing has the same implicit learnt motor skills that real life has - Jake has well trained motor skills that do a lot of the heavy lifting implicitly, while Jordan has to explicitly and manually configure everything. The ability to modify more aspects of the simulation is the compensation for that.
Can we just acknowledge Jake's perseverance the whole competition.
Be like Jake guys.
It restores my faith in humanity that you guys can make a living doing stuff like this
This is by far my favorite thing to come on the crew channel since the various actor competitions (tom cruise, jackie chan, The Rock, etc)

With your velocity projection, I recommend having it multiple segments so that you can represent the curve as gravity influences its movement.

I absolutely love these videos!! Seriously! Peak content right here!! Please do more and bring on new competitors too!
I do love Jordan and Jake, but more people would be fun lol!
I loved the last CGI versus Trickshot video. Glad to see a part 2, I hope this becomes a long running series.
Please I hope not… thus adding wind, changing acceleration is such a bitch move from Jordan.
If they wanna continue, Jordan should only have the control of initial direction and velocity. Not wind and gravity
Lets go Jake, you got this!
To be fair Jordan used wind for two of them. Sooooo I believe this is an asterisk win.
These are among the best videos you make!
Hats off to the video editor, it was very entertaining and well put together 👏
For CGI you should try simulating a hundred/thousand non-interacting balls with random angles/wind values simultaneously.
Not allowed to make more balls by the rules set in the first competition
Just as I was about to catch some z's. The vfx bois come in clutch.
so happy to see another one of these!!!
This is awesome guys. Love this👏👏
That was NOT a fair competition: Mr Computer Animator does those kinds of animations for a living all day long, tweaking physically based animations, while Mr Producer does those anything else but ping pong ball throwing all day long. But regardless of that, the anticipation and stress oozes all the way here to me when I watched this episode. I can really feel how they felt during that competition.
I totally agree, this is really what its all about, not the actual act of the doing, but the story arc, the comedy, the suspense. Its what made this video pop for me and I was standing infront of the computer with so much tension. THEY REALLY NEED TO CAPITALIZE ON THIS AND MAKE IT A SERIES. This is probably the most entertaining video I've seen from them in a while lol (that I can recall mainly - terrible memory tbh)
Jake was smart and barely talked during this, whereas Jordan couldn’t stop talking 😂
this is such a great and smart idea for a series xD cant wait for crazier and crazier trickshots
2:04 Jake standing there was gold.
I think Jordan needs a time delay in the next episode to make up for the missed call 😂😂😂
cgi trick shots are neat buuuut like practical fx i feel like the real thing is more satisfying
Jake and Jordan a my favorite and I love seeing them together!!
loved the first video, loved this one too!
I demand a 3rd round. With a twist. No changing the properties of the materials and physics in the CGI version. Just like real life you only get to change the initial velocity and the direction of the velocity. That's it. No changing the bounciness or wind or crap like that ;) Let's see how the competition is when the playing field is leveled :P
He couldnt have done it without the wind
Man I was really rooting for Jordan, thank God he finally made it 🙌🏼
If this became a series I would
Be extremely happy. I love everything about Jordan hahahaha
You could do a third episode by inviting the Dude Perfect and having them compete against you, surely they would be able to nail a lot of shots in no time.
Let’s go!
