That was written on top pikes peak. See it everyday and almost everyday you could get a different picture of it. With any luck we will be about 1/2 way up it and enjoy a day kayaking and relaxing. Tomorrow. Those days are far and few. I don’t recall hearing Willie’s version before but Ray, I search that one out every year just because WOW. Not to detract from Willie though. It’s all about personal expression into a song. Well Ray he sings it the way I feel it. I almost included this song on the clock I made for you both across the front but it didn’t come out right so I chose differently. It wasn’t anything fancy but you ever get another mailbox I’ll send it. Didn’t heat this on the 4th but it Friday morning and just as great to hear these both. Thank you for playing them. I loved both versions , but I especially loved the Ray because of the end when he was accepting his accolades. It brought me to tears because it looked so innocent and childlike!
I heard Willies version many years ago from my mother. His unique voice and playing that old classical guitar hooked me.
I chose the lyric video because the versions I found were generally full of people’s visages that would set off my friends and family on the right. His videos of this around 911 included actors and actresses in both extremes of political parties,
Like the coward I am, I chose the one that one that would keep people from “yelling” at me in the comments section.
I’ve never seen Pikes Peak let alone climbed it! I like kayaking but I’m afraid of heights.
However, I do love beauty so I would love some pics if that’s ok. No is fine too.
