      If you use too much liquid, when making a cement Styrofoam mix, the beads will float so just cut down on the amount of water that you mix in.

It is easier to make than aerated Crete blocks. It's waterproof, floats, good weather insulation specially in hot countries. Styrofoam is the key material to build boat fridges and cold rooms. If you just use Portland cement without the lime, it doesn’t stay together real well, but in some applications like pouring avoid area, you don’t need the S type lime you can just you say Portland in Fact St., Portland is stronger than having the lime in the mix

    Can I have the formula of your mix, please. Or is it a secret. thank u in advance.

      There are several different formulations that we use... it really depends on your application as to the exacting formulation. Give me a call to discuss your interest. Thanks, Jim

      I wanted to make small fountains out of this. I want to be able to form it and shape it a bit. What do you suggest

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  4 года назад +2

      It would be something that you could do, but it would less weight to start with a block of styrofoam which you could carve to the shape you want and then code it with a thin shell of cement.

    Where Do you buy the Styrofoam?

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  4 года назад +1

      You have to look for companies that are recycling foam. Unfortunately there isn’t a one stop source for ground foam.

    • @LucidDreamer54321

      @fauxrocktraining Yes, but not Styrofoam. Styrofoam is a brand of extruded polystyrene board insulation and is blue in color.

      @@LucidDreamer54321 And you, BUD, are wrong as rain. Styrofoam is certainly a brand name, but it is NOT exclusive to extruded "blue board". Styrofoam does, indeed, make expanded polystyrene as well and it is WHITE. I've used it for more than twenty years. So, smartass, Jim knows exactly what he's talking about.

    • @LucidDreamer54321
      @LucidDreamer54321 Год назад +2

      @dperry428 No, you are the one who is wrong! The Styrofoam brand name is ONLY used for extruded polystyrene. There is a page on the Dupont web site that explains this. Unfortunately, RUclips deletes my comments when I post a web address.

    The title says "Making", but I only see ingredients and talking about what you are going to do. Where is the "making"? I want to see how you blend all the ingredients. I wouldn't watch a cooking show were they just displayed what was included in the dish, and then NOT show me how to prepare it.

    Polystyrene beads and cement, are you using sand. Is that it, just these two above ingredients plus water.
