No Dime, no Pantera but I have to admit this Pantera Tribute thing they are doing is pretty cool! It's not the same, sure, but it's the closest thing we will get to Pantera in 2024! RIP Dime and Vince!
True. I saw Pantera with White Zombie in 96 at the Coca-Cola Starplex with my cousin. He went to see em when they came through on the tribute tour, which he said he enjoyed. He would know but of course its not the same. Of course its not Pantera. I met Dime a couple times. Once I ran into him at a music store. Not a signing event, he just happened to be picking up some stuff by himself. I got his autograph, I also ran into him at a Stars game once. I was lucky enough to see Pantera 5 times between 96 & 2000. I feel blessed to have been there. They don't make em like that anymore. It was the best time to be alive
Saw the original a bunch of times back in the day. I’m sitting this out. I will say Zakk is the perfect ambassador for making this happen and for expressing his role in it. I’ve noticed I haven’t seen Phil talk about it.
Dime is by far my favorite guitarist ever. Coming from TX, along with Vinnie and the Abbott family, I always felt like they represented southern rock and metal. I always had mixed feelings about Skynyrd existing after the tribute tour in 1987. Even then I wasn't comfortable calling them Skynyrd. Doing it without Allen Collins and Ronnie meant that there were new people filling in for the two most important people in the original band. To top all off the new music that they put out didn't even sound like the Skynyrd that I fell in love with. It wasn't until years later that I got around to seeing them live that my opinion changed. My kids gave me tickets, and they went with my wife and I to see them for my birthday. I had gone out of my way over the years to make damn sure that they knew who Skynyrd was. When the show ended that night I was so thankful for the whole experience. We all saw a very tight, mostly pre-crash set that night, by a band that felt like they gave it everything they had and crushed it. I was thankful that my kids got to see the power of Skynyrd when they were on. I didn't get to see Pantera, but I wasn't willing to feel anything but thankful when I started to hear rumblings that they might be doing their own tribute tour. There are a generation that grew up hearing the legend, but the true power of Pantera is definitely a live thing. It was also time to let bygones be bygones about the break up. Phil has a big mouth sometimes, but the only way he can held responsible for what happened to Dime is to give him credit for the influence he had on Pantera, and for his part to play in the transformation that took a second string hair band and transformed them into😢 the only major label metal band that mattered for a while. I've beena fan since cowboys came out and dime was the reason I picked up a guitar, never got to see pantera live but did see damage plan in 04 and met Dime during that show it was amazing they were great and dime was so great
The greatest live performance I've ever seen was Pantera opening up for Black Sabbath back in 98! Every time Vinny hit his kick drum it deflated my lungs!🤘🤘🤘
Zak is an amazing guitarist and I’m excited to see him at Aftershock this year. I will get to see a few bucket list bands that I haven’t seen yet. My list is down to a dozen or so bands at most. In 6/7 years in been to 7 aftershocks and around 60 concerts.
Saw pantera at MSG recently, besides zakk being massive in size lol, he also nailed the show! the crowd even noticed when the band was playing floods even in the solo, the band got extremely emotional especially phill, he couldnt take his eyes off the screen showing all the dimebag and vinnie videos. Zack has done an amazing job during this tour. I personally was blown away having seen Pantera many many many. Many. Time's I wasn't worried once I heard who was playing for Dime. If anybody could. It would be Zack.
Great interview. Getcha Pull Hoss
Zakk's the coolest! Humble, weird and one of the best guitar players on the planet. Great interview!!🤘🤘
Looking healthy mr.zack that's good to see..be safe
Father, Zakk is awesome
Saw Pantera in 94, 96 and 99. Life changing shows, man. They were unreal.
It was amazing to see Pantera live in Detroit last year. Zack seems like a very cool dude. Amazing interview.
I was sooo excited when Pantara came to my small town. Phil said he was coming back but I doubt that. Zakk did not disappoint whatsoever.
Best rock content in the world

Gonna age myself here, but best damn show ever was Pantera at the New Haven Coliseum. Can still feel the heat & wall of sound. RIP Dime.
Wylde is always gonna play like himself but the fact that he can bring us as close to dime as he does is a blessing. 🤘🏻 thanks for all you do Zakk, always be hero status right beside dime to me. SDMF
Grew up on Korn and slipknot and like he said I just discovered pantera and honestly I'm in love ❤ walk is my favourite
I am so thankful i was able to see Pantera 7 times, and meeting Darrell at the Clubhouse.
Awesome you got the interview and is was more Pantera topic than the recent ones he's done.. Great job
Great analogies on how to be a good musician and how to be good at video games.
I love how Zach seems like such a down to earth guy to just sit down and chat with about metal, i didn't have any friends or family that was interested in metal enough to take me to go see them live when they were still around, zakk jamming out these songs live will at leist give me a pretty close idea of how kick ass Pantera sounded live, cause it's a shame I'll never get to experience it... I bet it was one of the best live performances remembered by alot of lucky metal heads
ZAKK
Dime and Vinny are buried like 30 -40 mins away from me here in dallas I went to see them last year it was raining all day but had a slight sprinkle when I was there smoking a blunt and having a beer with the boys also u gotta throw a dime or a guitar pic for dime and some drum sticks for Vinny
I've beena fan since cowboys came out and dime was the reason I picked up a guitar, never got to see pantera live but did see damage plan in 04 and met Dime during that show it was amazing they were great and dime was so great
I hope Vince and Darrell are proud because even though it wasn’t their plan to do when they were still here, their music will live on. RIP Brothers!
I was at the very first reunion show in PCB, FL and it was like they had already been touring for a while. Solid af right out the gate. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I seen Pantera back in day on West Side of FT.WORTH at Joe's garage ..
The greatest live performance I've ever seen was Pantera opening up for Black Sabbath back in 98! Every time Vinny hit his kick drum it deflated my lungs!🤘🤘🤘
Love Dime, Love Zakk, Pantera 4 Ever!
I feel like Vinnie and Dime are sitting either side of him :)
DIME AND VINCE THE HEAVIEST 1-2 PUNCH IN HEAVY METAL HISTORY. MISS YOU BOTH R.I.P TO THE BROTHERS. YOUR MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER STRONGER THAN ALL. 🤘🤘
Saw them feb 27 in Quebec and it was goddamn electric!!!🤘🤘
Great interview dude! This was awesome! You're killing it!
Being calm is the key. As gone through several jobs, nothing as cool as Zakk, I must say "stay calm".
Zak is an amazing guitarist and I’m excited to see him at Aftershock this year. I will get to see a few bucket list bands that I haven’t seen yet. My list is down to a dozen or so bands at most. In 6/7 years in been to 7 aftershocks and around 60 concerts.
That is a humbled Man to the core right there his approach to Heavy Metal music is absolutely brilliant and he is a stellar musician 💯🤘💀🤘
I got to see Pantera 3 nights in a row at Hammerstein Ballroom nyc!
Jealous!!!! That’s awesome.
Zakk frkn Rocks, loved him since no more tears!
Zakk is shredded bro. He looks in phenomenal shape.💪
It was so emotional i was feeling it too, like i knew dimebag and vinnie in person.
