Great game!. Barnes is a very good example of an all-out romantic era player. He immediatly goes all in with an attack, no matter the cost. He attacks with the Knight and gets some material advantage, but Morphy is only concerned with developing his pieces, which, in the end, is the soul of modern chess. Going all in is nice and all, and it's very entertaining, but it's very, very dangerous against an opponent who's only concerned with putting his pieces in the best places. That's why I think Morphy greatest advice reflects the essence of his game: "Help your pieces, so that your pieces can help you".
Total agree. I Couldn't describe it better. Barnes forget to connect his pieces. Its like he taking them to a one way journey. I like this play style but as you said its really dangerous.
@@cygnustsp against good players it wont work. The key is to out queen on B or G line along side with knight and wait to punish for opponent bishop moves and if his pieces not prepared well he will be destroyed.

this was amazing...i cant belive what i just saw damn it....After Morphy let that knight to F7 i had a feeling that he knew that game is over,i would never ,and i mean never let that pawn step on E6,wouldnt even calculate if it does coz no way i would let him to E6....While watching the game you can literally feel how he is not scared on anything and at the same time you can feel how Mr.Barnes is pushing him very hard and again you can feel Morphy how he simply dont care..And then that middle game-OMG...Never saw this game before,but for sure i will never forget it..Amazing !!! I love Chess so much i have no words to explain and this is reason why...
I think Agadmator's actually understating the extent to which Morphy is chess' greatest genius. I guess we're all so used to Morphy's brilliance that we take it a little for granted.

That one morphy vs barnes video where u showed barnes played f4. I played morphy's moves and controlled mid and than when he came in with queen check I forced him to trade queens and won bcz he had many pieces not developed yet. So thank you :)
It never ceases to amaze me how Morphy seems to always pull a checkmate, or threat of checkmate, out of no where. Might be my favorite chess player of all time.
