The Duel Master Crossover didn’t end with MMBN5. For the TCG they made a Lord of Chaos card that depicted Bass.EXE as a special monster card and even later made a special monster card featuring one of the protags from Duel Masters and Mega Man.EXE fighting together.

this can actually one-shot a full HP player. it's insane. the only way to null damage from it is a holy panel + aura, but like... if you geddon2, it just one shots. one of the best gigas in the series, but it's not *over* powered, it requires actual setup.
I played BN6 before 5, so when I first saw the Death Phoenix chip I thought it was some sort of early version of Falzar? It didn't help that it looked like there was a Gregar head peeking up from beneath.
it makes me sad I never put this together. btw duel masters is still wildly popular in japan and they have an equivalent of yugioh master duel called duel masters plays that predates master duel by like actual years. I miss duel masters. really liked that game.
Out of every Giga chip in the entire series, Death Phoenix for me, is probably the one that get most visibly affected by the "Giga Chip are unable to be drawn at turn 1" mechanic. Django + DP being 1 code sounds super funny until you realized that it basically never happened Just did a test, out of 30 or so ecounter, only 4-5 failed to draw a Mega on opening hand, and most of them opens Django(top most). DP didnt get drawn a single time with 6 custom screen Idk what other game had this mechanic but iirc its in 4-6. I tried testing in 3(9 slot), and it appeared once I remember reading that theres one game where you can draw Giga turn 1 if you mess with the default chip in a certain way, but its a pretty obscure stuff
@@bestaround3323 nu my turn 1 high demands otherwise! Tbh part of the annoyance is because to do search soul play proper you also need it to be Chaos(since it lasts 1 turn) so you can do FS set ups
I remember playing duel masters as a kid with a few others at the ymca one summer then a bottle of sunscreen exploded in my booking and soaked through everything in the and ruined my cards through the other side
I always thought Death Phoenix's design is cool. Wish it became some sort of an optional boss in BN5. And the fact Django can be recycled, even though he's not a Navi.
I wish Duel Masters was still a thing here, I've tried getting into Magic multiple times but it just bounced off me every time, Duel Masters fixes most of the issues I have with it just by making everything a hybrid land
Yeah they had their movies come out at about the same time, so they had a crossover promotion. We got battlechips, Duel Masters got some jp only BN themed cards.
this chip is super broken, if you use with meddy the dmg is huge... and then have colonel version of phoenix and the dmg is very mid with a poor range attack and you get a small recover... yep

Like the entire card game was created because the MTG manga can't use MTG stuff anymore so they create an entirely new card game that replaces it yes, there was an MTG manga. Yes the main character is the very same Shobu Kirifuda, who originally runs an outdated deck filled with broken cards that have been banlisted because he didn't keep up with the ruleset until he run Slivers. DM the game was introduced as a super dangerous version of MTG during the finale of the first Hakuoh arc. This is why the attack power of DM cards are in the thousands - it was to potray the sheer difference in power between it and MTG cards(double digits) And in JP DM is so successful that, at the moment theres at least 3 card game in the market that copied mechanics from it(Vanguard, Digimon, and iirc OP)

This is a Team ProtoMan Giga, so SearchSoul is an option to dig for the combo.
