Asics Superblast vs Hoka Skyward X

- Опубликовано: 8 июл 2024
- The Hoka Skyward X and Asics Superblast are two of the most cushioned (and expensive) training shoes on the market. The Superblast is one of the pioneers of the $200 training shoe segment, and it offers a fast and protective ride in a lightweight package. The Skyward X is the newest entrant, clocking in at $225 and offering a carbon plate, aggressive forefoot rocker and dual-foam midsole with PEBA and supercritical EVA. In this video, I get miles in both shoes and let you know how they compare.

As a 6'6" runner, I'm taking the Skyward X anyday.
Triumph 20 is a fantastic shoe. Currently getting most of my miles in them. 🙌🏼
Same
Cant wait for the Superblast 2 review!
love your videos - in the future if you could do a video on the best trainers for runners for flat feet that would be great. maybe including easy run, tempo and race day shoes as I am currently wearing the adidas adios pro 3s for race/speed but feel like they may be giving me some problems as I can't fit my insoles in them properly and don't think they have the best support in place. Thankyou and keep up the hard work.
I have the Superblast. Amazing shoe when going Tempo or faster. If I go slow it becomes harsh..
Skyward X is extremely tempting. Going to wait to see what Superblast 2 is like and also a better color for the Hoka. I usually don’t care but this is so bad I would actually not buy it.
Almost the same colour as Speed 4
Almost the same colour as Speed 4
There is a yellow skyward x
Superblast definitely loves marathon pace. Not so great at recovery/easy. I think Saucony Triumph 22 will emerge as the better value that’ll sit in both the recovery and steady long run.
i comment something like this in every skyward x video... but im literally having dreams about it. i neeeeed it
Hahaha I have heard that some fleet feet in the US are already carrying it... if you live here that may be your best bet to get it on foot early

I’ve tried the Novablast 4, not the Superblast, and Skyward X… to replace my Pegasus 38.
HOKA are SO much better IMO.
Well rockered, way more confortable, more fun.
In terms of price, 200€ compared to 120 for the Novablast, if you search for the best price in France at the moment.
I will receive Skyward in a few days.
Also tried NB Élite V4 (with NB crew in a Running shop).
Good one, confortable, easy run. But overpriced for me.
Would be an other good choice if money were not a problem.
nice
Ima keep it real, I had a sloggy ass 5 mile run in the superblast two days ago & it was pretty much all down to the lockdown/upper fit. Superblast needs a lot of work in the upper / lacing system.
I think the Superblast would be amazing if it were more rockered and Asics knows how to do it. The Noosa and Evoride lines are all about the geometry. However, at about 130 lbs. with a size 10.5 shoe, I think the Skyward X would be too much shoe for me.
Im tempted to pick up the Skyward X, but I already have the Prime X2. They sound like they would be similar so probably dont need both.
How is the prime x2? I am temped to get one of the 3. Just don’t know which one yet.
@@carsongunter2264 I really like the Prime X2. Soft, bouncy, and pretty stable for a high stack shoe. I also have the original Prime X non strung upper and they are great, just no where near as stable. I did end up getting the Skyward X as well and I absolutely love them. Very comfortable shoe and fun to run in.
So…the Cloudmonster Hyper is in the “same segment” as the Skyward X, per the pricing? You might do a 1:1 comparison between those two 🤞🏻
Definitely will do that comparison! Stay tuned
Have you tried the Kinvara Pro? A lot of reviewers were negative about the weight and the firmness but the rocker on it is amazing
Best shoe I tried last year. My only concern was the unprotected outsole at the price, but here in Europe, it's a steal compared to the Hoka.
Not yet - it's on my list to try
@@supwellhope you get to try them soon and hope you get a deal on them. I’ve seen them on sale for $140 at some stores
Non existent outsole nah
As a big runner, I've never felt better than in my kinvara pros. Truly comfortable and I can cruise and pick up the pace.
Superblast as a beginner marathon shoe, or should we slower newbies step up to a saucony ep4 or cielo x1?
Certainly not worth the price for super shoes if you’re not shooting for a 3:30 time or faster
Whatever will fit well, make you feel comfortable and fast. No reason to attach a required pace to whether or not to grab a super shoe.
1. Do you have the money. 2. Will it make you happy. If you answered yes to both, buy one of em.
I'd go for the endorphin pro 4 or superblast. Superblast is a little more stable and more planted feeling and the pro 4 is bouncier with more of a fun ride out of the box. My top marathon recommendation right now is the pro 4 but if you want more stability and a shoe to use for everyday miles then the superblast will be better for you. Cielo X1 is fun but has a bit of an odd feeling at some paces from the heel cutout, especially for heel striking
Hello yowana i have a question... Skywardx is the highest high stack shoe in the world now ???? Plz answer me
I think adidas prime x strung might be a little taller but they are both very high
i hope they carry the skyward x in a size 14 unlike the superblast
His the Hoka skyward x good for heavier runners
And so is the Superblast!
15:06 you juked the trash can so hard, homie had to get carted off the field
😂😂😂 had to call in the reinforcements
I would definitely go with the Skyward X over the superblast. But will wait to see the superblast 2 first.
Same.
SB2 will be $220, you still want it?
@@haon2205 it depends
Skyward v Triumph? Why would one go for Skyward over the Triumph?
Cause the Triumph sucks.
@@LAMerc76 go to disagree with you there
Stack height + carbon
I have T20 and T21 and nice shoes but 10mm drop and the foam can feel unstable and wobbly, skyward x feels very balanced compared to
@@LAMerc76
😂😂😂 Hoka fanboy or seller 😉😬
Superblast all day , never this hoka bricks
Man it's crazy how so many people on the internet have run in an unreleased shoe 😂
Because he is just anti hoka so he doesn't read, hoka is very good and so many shoes to find what you need
20 years out from triathlons when the kids graduate 😂
they dont make the superblast in a size 14 so i cant try it. skyward x looks awesome for a big runner 6’3 195lbs
lol appreciate the video but I'm just gonna take the shoe thats significantly lighter, Cheaper, and more versatile
Aka the Endorphin Speed 4 😏
@@cameronthaijohnsonit’s ugly man
Lighter isn't always better. The tech in the skyward makes it so u can't really feel how heavy the shoe is. The ride is so smooth. So far it's been my favorite shoe this year.
@@davidmuro9029 yeah I guess so. At 220 bucks I would sure hope so lol
Just get NB4 then
Superblast is easily my most hated running shoe ever. Seriously hated every mile.
Same. I really felt like I got trolled after buying them
ain't no way those boots are better than the superblast, he trolling
If you look deeper Asics is just an apple brand in disguise
Overpriced, good design, inferior technology?
I know you said skyward X is narrower in forefoot but that's the midsole. How is the actual FIT in the forefoot? Which one has more width and more room in the toe-box?
Superblast has a wider toebox. Skyward X is a little narrower but wasn't overly tight true to size
Thanks for helping me decide between these two hideous looking trainers. Shouldn’t a $200 trainer at least look good?
😂 I don't mind the look of the superblast but skyward x isn't winning and design awards. In the $200 category the Cloudmonster hyper looks pretty sweet but I know On isn't everyone's cup of tea
I’m going to try the Skyward X on after work, but I’m a bit worried. Will the super critical EVA dog me like my mother in law? Ba dum tss! 😃
