As a disabled Type A personality I get a lot of satisfaction from watching you with the chinking. I’ve watched you from the start of the build and I’m enjoying the progress you are making. Keep up the good work. The cabin looks great.
There's always something that has to be done! When the house is finished, and you are sitting inside while the cold winds blow, it will be worth all the effort.
Greetings from Vegas. It's a true labor of love! This project will bear a lot of fruit for many years to come. Hang in there, be patient. Rome was not built in a day.
Huge job, but you're getting it done! The way you're using the nails to hold it in, should keep it from ever having to be redone! I know you can't wait! We're hanging in there with you!
That ole Deere has been through the mill with you on many a job. The chinking is looking amazing! It's really making the Log Cabin come to life. Dang the rain. I personally am so over it. It seems that it is raining everyday at least once. Thanks so much for sharing, now y'all go have fun in the rain on the side by side. It's all good :)
Hi guys it might be boring seeing you Chinking to some people but we can just look at the progress that you are making on this beautiful homestead , the chinking just finishes it off so good, Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia
Huge project from day one to do alone! Not just the chinking,, the place is huge for a one man crew.. Takes pride to get outta bed day after day and run another race,, along with chores, cooking ,cleaning ,laundry, ordering, paying bills,, fixing everything!!! Great job.. aloha
That's really making a huge difference it looks amazing... remember your only one man and that's ALOT of work especially since your doing the job right.
I’ve watched every single video on your channel and I just want to say I’m so tired for you.. I can only imagine how tired you must be! But...it’s quality work that will never have to be touched again...at least, by you. Keep going! You’ll get there.
Looking good! I enjoy watching your videos. They are not boring to me....... The progress continues and it puts you closer to moving. Stay safe and healthy.
Always love seeing the animals and I don't mind a bit watching you chinking but you poor man again your arms and back God love Ya they have to hurt so God Bless.
I suspect rain has played a part in slowing you down. NE Oklahoma has been hit hard this summer with rains and wind. I think chinking ranks right up their with hanging drywall and mudding. "Life Uncontained" in Western Texas seemed to struggle with that the most.
Everytime I see you with that nail gun I get nervous. You work so hard, I will be happy for you and your family when you are done and can enjoy all your work that you put in to building it. Take care.
As long as we didn’t have lightening, on occasion, Mom would allow us to play in the rain too. I would pretend I was in the old movie, Singing In The Rain!
I used to like that movie but I got to despise it for a while. When Radio Shack came out with it's Video Disc Player that movie would play over and over every day for about 60 days. I used to like Christmas music too. But on "Hot Friday" the day after Thanksgiving our 5 disc Christmas Music disc would play up to 12 hours a day. Maybe it would not have been okay if they had been Christmas Hymns it would have been better. I haven't worked for them in 14 years so I can enjoy both of those now.
Just think, with windows and doors, the house will be dried in. Clinching is just a part of making that all happen. And by winter, it will be a bit warmer in there too do the inside work.
To bad there is not a remote control device for the tractor that would move the bucket mechanism up or down. I guess that is why they make man baskets/cherry pickers!
Bless your heart.i know it's got to be so boring for you and I'm glad you put the video in high speed LOL. You get going right along and then mother nature thinks you need a break .I never did like her 😄 Especially now when we need alot of rain.its been really dry here in western NC.we did finally get steady rain from Last evening through the night and part of the day today and was raining again a bit ago. 36% chance again tomorrow but we could stand a good week of it every day. But so could the west coast and many other places around the country . Hang in there Stephan it's got to end at some point .
Since your plate is not full enough and you don't have a lot of criticism, have to remind you not to forget about the gable end of the garage to finish, LOL, your project is moving along, keep cranking out the videos
It's coming along. Your almost there. By the time you get to the front you're going to have that down to a science. It's just beautiful. So...is that 3 sides almost done? I know it must feel like it's taking forever but from a viewers stand point words just can't tell you how georgous that cabin is going to be. Slow and steady wins the race.🙂
Man that chinking is boring and hard work i'm pretty sure u will be glad when it's all done the house is looking great keep up your great work ..Melbourne Australia.....KEEP SAFE...
I made them out of 3/4 plywood and 2x4. Send me an email and I will send you some pictures. They were 42”x42” on the bottom and 8”x 24” on the top except the ones that hold up the ridge pole support logs and they were 48”x 48” on the bottom and 24”x 24” on top and 42” tall.
Sorry it’s taking so long, it’s a huge job. In person it look like a impossible task! Hang in there brother y’all will get it knocked out! Great video! Sucks about the truck, quit driving so hard!! 🤣🤣 NEVER!!! John 😎👍
that is a lift for the fireplace. It is sitting on a 15 inch thick cement slab and has a 4 inch thick cement slab on top . I needed that to bring the fireplace up to floor level
Hi, chinking looks great, do you intend to cover between the concrete piers, I imagine some animals might take up residence under the house. Anyhow everything is looking great. Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺
It's not boring to me! I've wanted to do the chinking myself from my wheelchair! When the outside is finished, won't there be chinking still to do on the inside?
Hopefully me sticking with chinking video helps you get thru it ? Some jobs that are essential to a great outcome are not always riveting. Cheering you guys on from my iPad !
James shown tal,the worst and bigest job wos the chinking...In Europe we ar making much izzier and bether like" Nik Riavec "with his house no blody Chinking...
Playing in the rain, wonderful summer memories!

Not too bad ,I can’t hardly wait until it’s done, such beautiful logs!
Greetings from Vegas. It's a true labor of love! This project will bear a lot of fruit for many years to come. Hang in there, be patient. Rome was not built in a day.
You probably don't even see what a terrific job you are doing, and how beautiful the house is becoming. It is starting to glow!
Thank you..

I guess that's why people have called me Mr. Project for decades. Ive always had some project going on and they just keep getting bigger and bigger.
That's really making a huge difference it looks amazing... remember your only one man and that's ALOT of work especially since your doing the job right.
One wall almost done! 👏👍
Good morning Stephen 😀
Cabin is looking awesome as always! The chinking will be done before you know it!
I hope so
Beautiful opening scenes.
You're building a beautiful farm.
I forgot that was so cute her standing in the rain have fun honey we all did when we were younger God Bless.
Chinking channel 😊, good description , but once it's done , it's done . And it is nice seeing the progress.
Alot of rain in Smith County this morning and today
May be boring, but it looks amazing!
Thank you so much.
Nice work. Results will be awesome.
thank you

You do a great job with your videos.
I appreciate that!
Looks really great! You will be thru soon!

Keep up the work Super Cabinman
Looking great
Thank you so much.
WOW !! You can see it coming along nicely especially with the camera angle ,where your chinking and the wall around the corner is in view
Just think no more tarps and you should be able to work in side this winter with heat.
I hope so
good work
As long as we didn’t have lightening, on occasion, Mom would allow us to play in the rain too. I would pretend I was in the old movie, Singing In The Rain!
I know that movie very well.

Hello there!
🇳🇱that man can WORK HARD🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🍀
To bad there is not a remote control device for the tractor that would move the bucket mechanism up or down. I guess that is why they make man baskets/cherry pickers!
Ive spent a lot of time working out of those as well
It was a good video. Are you going to try to hatch some turkeys down the road
I dont think so. They get into everything
Bless your heart.i know it's got to be so boring for you and I'm glad you put the video in high speed LOL.

This has been a crazy year. Maybe 2022 will be better.
Since your plate is not full enough and you don't have a lot of criticism, have to remind you not to forget about the gable end of the garage to finish, LOL, your project is moving along, keep cranking out the videos
Im about to get on that. lol
No, it's not boring work, it's very important work, so make chinking very thoroughly and you will have nice looking and warm house.
It's coming along. Your almost there. By the time you get to the front you're going to have that down to a science. It's just beautiful. So...is that 3 sides almost done? OMG YOU ARE REALLY DOING A WONDERFUL JOB ON YOUR HOME STAY SAFE OUTTHERE AND SAFE AND PLEASE TELL YOUR AMAZING WIFE APRIL HELLO
Thank you so much
@@hickoryridgehomestead9177 YOUR SO welcome
Please take the time and enjoy your children .
I do
Stephen down the road, what are the plans for the bottom of the cabin ? Will you use Cinder Block to enclose it
No it will get closed in with stone.
Remember, chinking may be boring but it differentiates a log cabin from a pile of logs. Keep the faith, the goal line is very close. Looking good.
Chinking looks good
thank you
Don't worry brother you are getting there 💪and it's looking amazing
Thank you so much.
Agreed …. Got to be drudgery. However, it DOES look good, and you are PD Close to moving inside.
What is your plan on the Gables?
Board and batten on the gable ends
Man that chinking is boring and hard work i'm pretty sure u will be glad when it's all done the house is looking great keep up your great work ..Melbourne Australia.....KEEP SAFE...
you have no idea how glad I will be to have it finished ..lol
great videos. i have a question did you make your piers or buy them. and if you made them how did you go about making them. thanks

I can’t do that. I need to get the no-prep truck done . Lol
@@hickoryridgehomestead9177 can’t wait to see it!!!
Question: behind you at about 4:18 I see stacks of concrete block under the house between the precast piers. What is their function?
that is a lift for the fireplace. It is sitting on a 15 inch thick cement slab and has a 4 inch thick cement slab on top . I needed that to bring the fireplace up to floor level
@@hickoryridgehomestead9177 Thanks, Stephen!
Hi, chinking looks great, do you intend to cover between the concrete piers, I imagine some animals might take up residence under the house. Anyhow everything is looking great. Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺
yes it will all be closed in the end.
what is happing to the gable end / green/
its going to be Board and Batten
Question for ya, when your up on the tractor is it always running?
most of the time I turn it off.
Oh good, that would of sucked for you n your ears..thanks for answering
It's not boring to me! I've wanted to do the chinking myself from my wheelchair! When the outside is finished, won't there be chinking still to do on the inside?
Yes it has to be done on the inside as well. I have already done some of it.
Hopefully me sticking with chinking video helps you get thru it ? Some jobs that are essential to a great outcome are not always riveting. Cheering you guys on from my iPad !
One day at a time. Chinking will be done one day! We need to have a party on that day. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
sounds like a plan..lol
Are you going to water sill your chinking so it don't draw moisture in the winter and freeze
no there wont be a need for it.
😯👍👍👍👌❤
O bugger.. Xxoo.
Not boring when the filming is good. You could give lessons.
Maybe boring but it has to be done.
You have a long time chinking , done outside and chinking inside too, right?
That is correct
lookin' great, nice work, stay safe and have a good week...
Thanks, you too!
James shown tal,the worst and bigest job wos the chinking...In Europe we ar making much izzier and bether like" Nik Riavec "with his house no blody Chinking...
chinking sucks! BUT you have to show viewers that are planning to build a log home exactly how much work it is. imagine doing it in the 1790s
It is much easier today.. This is the worst part of the entire build so far
