Looks great, good job!!
Phenomenal job brother. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you for the kind words 🛻👍
Great job brother!! Came out beyond awesome!
Thanks bud.
Looks amazing and great job. I want to point out that the paint on hmmwv's is called CARC and it's toxic. I would not sand it at all. I'm figuring out how to paint over it on the hmmwv I'm getting. Be safe all.
Oh we know all about CARC… it’s puts the ‘CARC’ in CARCinogen. 😝
@MyHumveeMathilda Ha! So is there any safe mask with filter that can keep you safe from the dust?
looks good
Thank you. 🙂
NICE WORK!
Thanks. 😎
A great job !!! Regards from Spain....
Thank you 🙏
Awesome! I'm lookin to sell my HMMWV... it's a 1989 M998, 6.5 liter diesel.
Good luck!
@@MyHumveeMathilda LOL, I've had a bunch of offers... now just a matter of getting the amount I'm lookin for.
WOW 👏👏👏
Appreciate your videos and everything you've shared. I've been looking to buy an auction Humvee and many would require some repairs so it's been interesting see you tackle repainting. My observation is the places where the camo colors meet typically have a softer "oversprayed" look so I have been trying to figure out how to replicate the original camo look and I think a bit of spray paint could soften where the colors join. Mathilda looks deadly, keep up the great work.
Thank you. True, the joints are usually soft, but I wanted a sharp cut, more definition. Overspray spins up my mild OCD. 😅
Nice job Chris....looks really nice..now I just need you to pack your brushes and roller and come over, got another that needs your skills...lol
My backs still killing me from this one Kevin, but ok. 😝
Ficou lindo.
Muito obrigado! 😁
Watching your video makes me wish we were neighbors. {PS: No, I am not ready to walk away from the Sunshine State but you are welcome to trade you frigid weather with my scorching weather. I will even become your realtor}. Is it possible to share the paint codes with us. Love the end result.
Thank you. Its hot enough here in NC in the summer that I wish I could move to Alaska. 😂. I am visiting Miami end of Feb though.
I used Latex paint from Home Depot/Lowe’s/ACE.
I color matched it to RAPCO paints 383 CARC substitute for the green, for the brown and black I color matched to Rustoleum camo black matt and camo dark brown matt. I’ve had the green on the doors for nearly a year, no fade no chip. It’s lovely.
Looks great. Did you say you had Lowes mix the roll on paint? What is that type of paint - that would make a great video to show how you are getting the roll on paint. As you know I did my truck doors in regular automotive PPG paint. Was $500 just for the materials to spray on - but a big part was also the epoxy primer. I need to paint the rest of the truck in like you did, but will wait till the weather is warmer here. GREAT JOB!

Thanks for sharing.. Great job!! I think I am going to try to do the same thing did you need to do any wet sanding before using the rollers?
No. But if there are imperfections I would sand it before. Be careful to wear breathing mask. CARC is dangerous if inhaled.
Looks great, the red gas can what type of fuel does that hold?
It’s not a gas can, it’s a tool box!! 😃
I made a vid about it. I’d highly recommend it.

Holy smokes. I have to admit that really came out fantastic! Looks so good. Your work paid off. What are the CARC paint codes you used? Also, what type of roller did you use to apply the paints?
Thank you. I’m happy with how it turned out. I used 2” flat edge rollers from Amazon. Latex paint from Home Depot/Lowe’s/ACE.

Looks great! Also love the tire/wheel combo, can I ask what they are and where to purchase them? Thanks in advance and cheers.
The wheels are 17” Vision Offroad Manx 4x4s, you can search for them online, there are multiple variant designs. Tires are 37x12.50 R17LT but they’d look great with 40s too.
Good idea with the small rollers! What type of rollers did you use? Foam or woven?
2” firm Foam.
Amazon
@@MyHumveeMathilda Thanks! Looking forward to painting my m1151 camo! (Its solid green now)
If she looked any sweeter, i'd have a mouth full of cavities, GREAT JOB
