  • If you've ever wondered how to paint a vehicle at home, I take you step-by-step through the process on paint day. Well, it was over the course of a few days after letting coats dry that needed to be dry before the next step. Hope you enjoy it.

      You'd be surprised, once the paint started going on, the nerves calmed down.

    Nice video. I can appreciate the effort that goes into distilling such a major project down to 12 minutes. I'm gonna be "that guy" and mention that the windshield is supposed to be sand on one side, red on the other. :P

      I know, and I realized that far after I painted it. But, I like seeing the red on the inside, makes me think something cool is happening on the other side (which it is).

      @@BroncoSolid I expect that it should be red, but whoever did these for the movie only wanted to paint the outside because it was easier. Harder for us, easier for them.

    Hey! Just wanted to say that your paint job looks very professional... I'm in the stripping and sanding stage of doing my own Jeep. Can you tell me what brand of paint you used for this build, and if custom how I might be able to get the same color? I think your color match came out great. Thanks!

    There's one small detail you did wrong, in the movie, they only painted the outside of the windshield red, the inside was still the sand beige the jeep originally had

      You're 100% correct, which was an oversight on my part. But actually I 've really liked it, it lets me know that I've got a party going on on the outside of the windshield too!

    Did you use the sand beige metallic or some other "close enough" color? Looks great!

    Where'd you get the stencils from for the hood and side panels numbers?

    Do you clear coat the whole thing after the stripes, or did I miss it?

    How much paint did you use?

    • @BroncoSolid
      @BroncoSolid  2 года назад +1

      For the sand beige, it was right about 3 quarts. But buying 3 separate quarts cost the same as buying a full gallon, so I bought a gallon. If I had to do it again, I'd still buy a gallon.
