Jeez. I worked in Saudi Arabia from 96-2008. The closest thing I've been to a local archeological site has been a hundreds year old fort in Al Ahsa. Had Saudi been more open about it's archeological past in those days it would've been wonderful to visit these. I've seen some old abandoned village near Buraidah and a certain house in Najran. I also stumbled into a pile of rocks arranged in some fashion in the desert in Ar Ar or was it Anak. But it could've also been done yesterday. I was also quite surprised about tiny fossils on rocks. Saudi had so much to offer about its past. Somehow back then people were afraid to believe that anything came before Islam.
The work of the saudi officials making the cubical space looks really rough compared to the ones the nabateans made, what's insane is that the saudi officials made it using modern electric tools
It was narrated from Naafi’ that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radhiAllaahu anhum) told him that the people stopped at al-Hijr, the land of Thamood, with the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), and they drew water from its wells and made dough with it. The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) told them to throw away the water they had drawn from its wells.
