- I've been hanging out with the SoCal RC Rally Runners and thought it might be cool to do a video featuring Tamiya's XV-01, the Rally car I drive at these events. So, here ya go - from Parc fermé to a lap on the track, then back.
Really enjoy everything from the technical driving, pitching it through the turns and the controlled launch over the jumps. Good times for sure!

Fantastic! I keep telling myself I don't need to get involved in another sect of the hobby... My scale love, rally passion, and this kinda influence aren't helping. Love the edit.
Thanks Shelton. I thought it would be fun but, you know, it's WAY more fun when you're doing it! Not helping, am I ? :)
CompetitionX I just need yo get a sweet Mini Cooper shell and I'll run my Losi Mini Rally in the M class. Maybe I can get some rally action in the 903!
Something more for me to run when I visit!
Also gotta get you to the off-road track @ Panola County RC!!
Yup - looks awesome!
Now that’s some legit rc run montage, RIP Tamiya track
Thanks! Miss that track alot!
AWESOME Tamiya Rally track bashing
Love it! Hope to build a rally course like this someday. Excellent video, cheers!
Thanks. Now that it's cooling off we should have a lot more Rally videos coming!
One of my favorite Tamiya chassis. Great video.
Me too. Love the way it handles!
Great video. I'd love to try that course! The pit area for the cars was really cute.
This just never gets old. 🤪👍👍
LOL - thanks. Looking to do a few more of these as well. Got some more ideas...
Great video 👍
Thanks 👍
Looks like a really good time!👍👍👊👊📹📹
Great edit, Tony! Great driving too! 👍😁👍
Thank you sir! Hope things are going well with you!
😊👍That was awesome! Lots of nice rally cars in the video BEAUTY!
Yup! Usually quite a few more but we didn't invite alot of people to the video shoot. I needed the track for a little bit and didn't want other cars getting in the way! :)
Dadd
Beautiful race!
Awesome video guys, that was fantastic, I love it, you guys are soo lucky to have your own rally track. I'm well jell now. 😀👍👍👍
Unfortunately it closed down some time ago so we have to go wherever we can find dirt now! :)
Fantastic video! I need to ask, does the pit area was a DIY? I need gazebos like that ones!
Yes. The locals do up the pit area at every event. I think they told me you can buy the canopies with custom tops, just not sure where.
Hey! What would you recommend for radio transmitter, servo, esc, receiver, battery and charger? (Budget focus) thanks in advance
Awesome video & rc my friend! Really enjoy watching especially the slowmo. Great work. Liked & subbed! Hope to see more of your work😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you very much, and thanks for the sub!
@@Competitionx You are welcome & stay safe my friend😁👍🏼
That was super cool. Subscribed!
Top notch video 😎👍🏆
Thanks - appreciate that!
Great footage. I'm just building my first.
It's a fun car for sure! Enjoy!
Epic run.😎
Thanks!
What happened with the Tamiya track ?
Just read the FB page; wow, 2018. I knew it was on the market for many years, I guess I thought that some of the property was sold (warehouse) and Tamiya kept the track going.
That is to bad, I was there three times.
The land was sold a few years back.
Woww! !!...che spettacolo !!!
Nice video mate👍👍🎥😲
👍very nice great vid
Awesome video! The link for the Chassis kit has been moved. Do they offer the same kit or how would I come up with the same setup?
nice run
great rally video !!! i subscribe !!!
damn it. Now i have to get a rally car.
Nice rally! Is there room in the battery tray for a 3s 2200 lipo?? Thanks for any info
Should be room for upto 3s 5000mah. Some people run those in tt02 chassis and thats a bit smaller
great run , i sub
Thanks.
What brushless motor do you recommend?
The engine of the kit is fine?
For Rally racing, I don't think you're going to need a lot of motor - the tire selection isn't the greatest so you're going to want to choose something that gives good control. Most guys are running 21.5T motors; easy to find, easy on power and easy to drive. I, however, am running a 17.5T because I do like the extra power. As far as brand, again I don't think it matters, but look for something that is waterproof. That will allow you to play when the weather isn't cooperating!
Thanks!
Wish they made a RTR version not everyone wants or has the time to build
Agreed. Sure would get alot more people into the Tamiya world if they had RTRs.
Still don't get why the price is so high for these at almost $300, especially in kit form. I mean yeah you are getting high quality for sure because it's Tamiya, but these things need a good bit of aftermarket upgrades to perform trouble free and fast.
On the contrary - other than an electronics upgrade (and softer tires), the car in this video is bone stock. Same plastics, gears, shocks, links... everything. Of course, I'm not really beating it up so the abuse level is quite low, but it does show that it can handle quite well without any upgrades. Of course - I DID upgrade it after this video :)
could you turn that stupid music a bit down?
LOL, Ummm, not now I can't. But you can turn your speakers down if you're not liking the music.
