At first I thought Scott didn’t sound like Micheal Cera, but after listening for a bit longer it’s definitely him
Yeah I thought that too but I had to remember Michael Cera is in his mid 30’s & the high pitched voice he does is most likely for entertainment purposes. He’s using his natural voice apparently.
Well, it is 13 years already after the live action was made. So this is to be expected.
This is such a pet peeve for me
@@juancena6909Cera isn't like 60 now, his voice wouldn't really age in the last 13 years. More likely this voice just fits better with animated Scott Pilgrim.
@@jrt8268 I never said that Michael Cera is *that* old. I'm just saying you should expect some changes before and after to actors 10+ years later.
Netflix is so brazen for making their product placement part of the plot lmao 💀
In the Early 2000s Netflix was a rival to Blockbuster as a DVD Rental/Delivery Company, So I guess it makes sense, It’s pretty cool to See SOMETHING take place in the 2000s for once, it’s always the 80s or 90s
Don’t see why they changed it from Amazon though
Amazon is currently a major streaming competitor rn
Have you considered they maybe also weren’t allowed to say “Amazon”
@@dominothealphaandomega5512amazon is now a streaming rival soo it will be like advertising the enemy
They couldn't put the name "Amazon" on it so it was Netflix
"How long could it take?"
Uh, if memory serves me right, back then it took Netflix about a week to deliver DVDs by mail.
When people say about age in the voice I think Scott is the perfect example
They showed this on Scott’s birthday! Sept 27!
❤
Oooo that must be why his door number was 27 also💡
Maybe, but I think that was based on Brian Lee O’Malley’s old apartment number but I could be remembering wrong
@@lucario1021 you know what, I think you're right about this
Seeing original comic's style coming to life in animation is something I've been waiting to see ever since I've read them a few years ago, so I'm beyond excited to watch this!
Also, Scott looks a puppy waiting for their owner to come home from work XD
Everyone looks so damn adorable
Forreal. I'm digging the art style. Is this how it is in the graphic novel?
@@HaydrogenBomb
Very similar, but the anime put much more emphasis on the charm the lighting gives to the scene
i can't believe season 1 is full on addictive drugs of video game animation turned into a cinematic tv masterpiece than HIFI RUSH
The official show for people in college who date high schoolers
What!?
@@toiletdestroyer163That's what scott did, dating Knife chou just for boasting.
Also for people in their early 20s
Literally the entire point of the series is why That Is Bad
His voice is so much more appropriate to scott
them making this anime in the middle of my scott pilgrim hyperfixation is so good
IM REALLLLLYYYYY HYPED FOR THIS the only thing is that the lip syncing is a little off?
It's an anime, lipflaps aren't important in anime compared to western animation
The animation is made by Japanese animators I think they are not used to lip syncing the American language. It looks like they are using the Japanese lip sync animation
It’s either an anime, or it’s imitating an anime, which don’t lip sync the English dialogue.
I think that was a creative decision from the director’s part to make it seem more like a 90s-2000s anime
@@8pierrot89 what? You know they still do right? Atleast on the original language
Oh God scott pilgrim first clip oh I'm so excited to see it on November I'm hug big fan
I would prefer english because hearing actual actors voicing themselves in the anime is so much better than sub because it feels pretty cool to hear the actual voices all over again.
*Cool Take:* I can tell most of y’all complaining have never watched Anime before.
In Japanese animation, most of the animation budget goes towards action scenes. That means animators must spend as little money as possible on less important actions such as talking.
However, in western animation, the budget is spent less strictly, due to western shows having much larger budgets.
*Reminder that Rick and Morty has a larger budget than both Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer combined.*
Oh my god I didn’t know that about Rick and Morty I wasn’t complaining anyways but damn Rick and Morty must have a big budget.
@@meapyboy12345 Rick and Morty budget is around 1 million per episode, while Attack on Titan’s budget is $150,00 and Demon Slayer’s is $60,000.
@@derpydino17 damn okay then.
I've read from an animator once that one frame, not one scene, is about 50 dollars.
Scott sounds so much more energetic here than the movie
I feel like most actors sound more energetic with voice acting then on camera
Too cartoonish, he sounded much better in the movie
I think that was the proper voice direction irl, hearing his self loathing meek voice come out of the graphic novel version of scott would have been super off putting.
@@halionextra
Unlike the movie, this aims for accuracy. So Cera's more energetic voice works better for comic Scott.
He put that jacket on so fast 💯💯😂😂😂😂
Not Netflix replacing the Amazon order with Netflix….
*"I FORBID YOU FROM DATING HER SCOTT PILGRIM!!!"*
Michael Cera ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥✨
Y’all owe this the watch😂😂😂
Am i the only person who honestly can look pass the lip movement. Like i didnt even notice until the comments started complaining about it 💀
Nope you're not alone
Wasn’t he dreaming of her her in the book an that’s how he knew she was coming to the door
No, she was traveling through his min via subspace and caused him to wake up
The netflix product placement is really funny considering they just ended their dvd rental service
people will literally nitpick some small stuff like.. of course the lipsync is like that, its supposed to be an anime, theyre only hyping the eng dub bcuz of the returning previous casts from the movie, like literally the guys who handled the movie is handling this one too..
its an american show made by americans. It´s not the english dub it´s the original voices, every other language will be the dub, even japanese.
Edgar Wright’s directing was the main reason the movie was great.
@@BlindGardenerYes it’s an American show, but it was produced in Japan. Hell, even to the point that it was animated to the Japanese Audio.
The lipsync is good tho
tbh it is very off, even in anime standards but you get used to it quickly
This looks good, can't wait
Best American/Japanese Anime ever made bro
Yes I understand age but damn all the voices sound sooo off. I kinda feel Julie’s but that’s it
This is a conspiracy, that's not Michael Cera. I swear.
Hey I'm actually a big fan actually at your comic strips you know and I'm also very excited that this is actually going to be aired up on Netflix actually very soon and I can't wait when it comes out this is going to be so cool all right I'll check out more of the videos for you know once you drop them all right catch you later bye
MORE LIKE SNEAK PEAK!!!
God I am so excited!!
Hope Comeau is still in it
At least Netflix is honest about why they started streaming.
Season 1?
Yeah is season 1
I cant wait!
Yes ❤
Sometimes the background feels like a DS game...
Awesome. Awesome.
Wow 😯
He is handsome in anime
Who?
Is this the first Netflix property to refrence Netflix (not fourth wall breaking)?
Tear along the dotted line has a scene where the main character says that he has netflix but he dosen't know what to watch so he only looks up for shows and never watch them
So weird seeing it in cartoons
I know this was waaaaaay before Succession but all I hear is Roman Roy 🤷🏽♀️
The voice direction seems REALLY bad in this. Everyone is saying their lines without a feeling of broader context. Uh oh.
ong and its slow
Ok guys. I don’t wanna press the panic button. But….I’m having some concerns….🙁
Could you elaborate a bit?
???
What??
@@Nick.Name5181 the animation seems off. Mainly in the face but I’m remaining optimistic
@@Avboyyy apparently the animation is synced to the japanese voices
They... should've recasted some actual voice actors.
NO
Huh replace the live action voice actors with other voice actors well that would be *GREAT.*
In 1:16 😴
The voice acting does not mesh with the animation style at all. It all just seems so dead compared to the movie.
Thats what Im sayin
@@FatihYudhistra The timing of the lines is very stilted. I've got a feeling it's been poorly dubbed from the japanese version without any retimings.
on scotts bday 😭😭❗️❗️❗️
Yeah the movie is already way better
This is just the trailer...
nah
I like both! The movie is fast paced, and this one seems more drawn out. I get why people like the movie more but im a huge fan of both pacing styles.
Um actually the manga is better🤓
You: it's not a manga, it's a comic🤓
Yeah I know
I loved the movie but the mangas were better & this already feels more faithful to the mangas.
Wow they just didn't even try at all to make the lines match the lip movements, huh?
I may be wrong, but I think It's an anime, so they might've used a different language for the lip syncing, again, I know nothing about how the show was made and I may be wrong
@@Uszyy It is an anime but other anime dubs I've watched do a much better job
@@rylie8989it’s the animations fault for being trash
@@dexter2178 "It's the animators fault for being trash" I fix it☺️💕
@@dexter2178wow, shut up. It is not anyone's fault. In fact it doesn't look bad to me. It doesn't focus on lip movement much anyway. It looks completely fine.
I wonder how Netflix is going to ruin this one.
@@rinraiden7025 Yeah, that's how it works, you absolute tool. If you make more bad decisions than good ones you're rightfully expected to make another bad one than a good one.
my question is how u think they ruined it this looks incredible 😭
@@joctorok I didn't say they ruined it. Go back to school and learn to read.
Its not like Netiflix ruins everything they adapt, Mister Judge.
@@doggoo69 And? So what? What does that change? Are all of you Rotten Tomatoes subscribers brainless or something? I'm yet to see one reasonable human being out of you. You are all under the blind white knight assumption that Netflix deserves praise despite admitting that it dishes out bad stuff more often than not.
