Fela Ransom Kuti remains Africa's greatest musician. Even when he changed his name to Anikulapo (I have death in my hands). His brand remains original. I like Fela's music, because he reached a broader audience through his mastery of Pidgin English. Best wishes from Igonikon Jack.
Amazing rendition. It must have taken a long time to get the same tone out of the sax, bass, drums, keyboards. And the singer has memorized the complex lyrics. Very impressive. Well done. Exceellent band. So beautiful. Wish your whole band lots of success
im highly impressed by their rendention they have done justice to original masterpiece negeria in honor of fela should open a curriculum at universties where fela's views are taught and his philosophy interrogated more especially in a era where politicians haven't stopped lying and old dictators who arrested fela on trumped up charges like buhari claim that they are rehabilitated
The original ZOMBIE by FELA is the greatest work of art by any soul living or dead. Any other attempt to redo the work is like someone attempting to redraw Mona Lisa.
The original Gentleman done by The Gentleman is so burnt into into my mind that any rendition by others feels like a poor imitation.I love Fela so much i get mean defending his original recording. But on re-watching this version, am gratified that there are musicians out there who share his@my feelings and are carrying on his legacy. Genius tends to be recognised 50 or 100 years later. Could be the case with Fela. Love Seun's transmission from his father though. Quieter but that's cool for now
Great job. It is always going to be impossible to match the original. Obviously the shekere, baritone sax and 2nd rhythm guitar are missed. That makes a big difference. But the instrumemtalists are bad asses.
I don’t think imitation is a great word. We need to get Fela’s music to a point where it is essential content. Most of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s songs are now jazz standards and are performed by thousands daily and essential content for anybody learning the genre of Bossa Nova.
No don't do this.....to copy fela style is mad fake, Fela created this track but you faking this track, missing the fela anger temper rising mood vibe!!!!!!!!!!! Remade for consumption......
They tried. Scored 70%. Fela is amongst the top three musicians from Africa! The other one is Pepe Kalle who is Congolese! I'm the third and will surpass them both! My rime comes in two more years! Shalom
There was and there is and there will never be another Fela. Fela was genius n a spirit in the performance. I rate this performance 0.1% of the original song as a student of music. Let this go polish and rehears very well.

Felamania is a system, an ordinance of passion for social justice, an Afro theme of mechanized musical synchronization!

I was gonna feel bad if you didn't acknowledge this guy's efforts because he did a good imitation with his band

Certainly not like the original but its a very good and brilliant copy of the original. I will give it 8 out of ten🎉❤
Even with the level of the 8 he's done a great job when it comes to music arrangement and composition. I love your rating
This rendition of a Fela classic is absolutely fantastic! Fantastic singer and the bassist is also right in the groove.
Perfect!
I love Fela.
His saxophone game is on point.
The Lady with dreadlocks looks like Lokua Kanza's daughter.
