That "adgeye" and the "bobobobo" is all Ghanaian slang and sayings "jo jo jo" is Ga for "dance dance dance" is just beautiful the eay many cutures were added into this
I like the fact that Hugh Masekela paid homage to Fela Kuti with this song and another one which he titled "Fela". Several years later Bhudaza pays homage to Hugh Masekela with a song titled "Nomali". In that song Bhudaza says "It is in this spirit that we say we've been blessed with various dishes from various cooks from the African continent. I take this opportunity to pay homage to one of Africa's finest cooks, and he calls this one Nomali". Hugh Masikela was indeed one of Africa's finest cooks.
Hugh really killed it , Fela Kuti must be dancing up there , I was blessed to watch Hugh do this song n many others Live , what a performer he was, rest in peace big brother ❤
What I love is that all these years later, Bra Hugh still started out with "this one is for Fela". Incredible! The whole concert is simply Masekela at his best and I loved every minute of it. RIP Bra Hugh. You are missed sorely!
Both where. I am sixty from Suriname/Holland. I have a special love for Fela. Thank God I have seen him play. Hugh is becoming one of my greatest favourites. ❤❤❤
The congaist is definitely Ghanaian with all that "aborabor boso3" and "ajei" 😂..... Hugh Masakela the African giant doing it for another giant..classic things ...Legends live forever.
Is it possible to get better than this? Musically this is flawless, in my eyes, and it's captivating, inspiring, really great stuff. Almost anything else is not worthy. Probably it is my emotional state. But why no black Africans in the audience. I don't get it. I think the message is for everyone but the ones who suffer need this the most.
The respect that these legends, bro' Hugh and Fela had for each other is testament to this performance. May their souls continue to rest in power and may their music live forever. I'm glad I bumped into this video✊🏾
They are creating a live beat for guys..,,,,they should have paid top dollar to witness the legend, greatness.... This guys gave their all on that stage. Blessings!
while attending his performance at Concerts by the Sea south of Los Angeles I asked him who he listened to. He replied " I listen to God"
I respect the fact this guy is actually singing in clean Nigerian Pidgin English.
Emotional. A tribute from one legend to another legend. Rest in power, Fela and bra Hugh! Your music is forever.
What a sexy version....... Fela would be so proud.
