    Regarding keeping your windscreen clean . . . Be careful Amer!
    Pretty much all of those “polycarbonate” products are versy soft and very easy to scratch. Even a simple paper towel can leave permanent scratches on your windscreen. I only clean mine upon returning from a trip and then it is done carefully with car washing soap and a micro fiber towel. And this is only after gently rinsing it a few times to soften the bugs that are plastered to it’s surface.
    As far as how to clean when you are riding, I say don’t worry as it isn’t worth the hassle. Most people have their screens set to where they are just below eye level while riding. This will still keep 99% of everything off of your helmet but you never have to look through a bug covered screen. I only ever raise mine to above eye level when I have to ride through the rain. But as soon as it is clear, I lower the screen back to just below eye level.
    Depending on how tall you are, you may need a lower screen on your Goldwing. Ideally I have a screen that in its lowest position is about two inches lower than my line of sight. That way if I am slouched a little at the end of the day I don’t have to look through it. Also, the top edge can be distracting as well so make sure it can go low enough. Hopefully when in this position you can then raise it enough to cover you entire field of view so that when in the rain you can sit comfortably behind it.

      Great suggestion Greg. I did the same and it worked great. I am always scared to scratch the windshield so coming back and washing with soap and getting them off is what I have been doing so far. Ride Safe!

    A wonderful journey with beautiful green arenas, almost 2000 km on the counter can already count and certainly in 3 days. Luckily you piloted a Goldwing or as your friends say a spaceship. The new Goldwing is one of the best touring bikes ever made. Handy sporty and comfortable. Thank you for taking us on your journey. 👏👍✌

    Outstanding narration of your trip with clear video. Great idea in planning that Loop. Spectacular views and what a beautiful country AmerS. Dawn and Dusk with it’s Sunrises and Sunsets are best in my book. The Wing handled the tasks great and without issue. Sport/Beast mode sounded absolutely fantastic on video too. You are inspiring to many. Ride safe and ride often. This is why we ride. Peace.

    I could feel your enthusiasm as you cruised along Lake Superior. I could not feel the cold, so it was nice and warm for me!
    How warm do you expect it to be this time of year?
    I keep a wet microfibre cloth in a zip lock bag to soften and clean the bugs off the windshield. I use a dry microfibre cloth to dry. At the end of the day, I rinse the wet one out and soak it again, put it back in the zip lock bag, ready for the next day. It stays wet for weeks as long as it is sealed.
    Hope we can travel to each other's country soon. We have friends near Peterborough, Ont. Have had to cancel travel plans to meet up with them two years in a row do to all this Covid.
    Do you have an aftermarket seat? I can't go more than 2 hours without needing a break. I hope to be able to try out a few options at WingDing later this month.
    Enjoyed the video.
    Stay safe!

      Thank you! It gets pretty warm in July and August around Lake Superior. I will be taking my family there for the July 1st weekend and will let you know how it goes.
      Your tip about the Wet Microfibre cloth is excellent and I will give it a try next time and make a video on it and all credits to you 😉
      I can't wait for the borders to open up soon so we can travel. I don't have an after market seat but on the stock one the maximum I can sit is for not too long. I talk about it in my next video where I am reviewing it. Ride Safe!

      Thank you! We had one friend who was on a sports bike Ducati Panigale and the other on a naked Suzuki. They both had to take a small break every hour for 5 minutes to continue riding. I am really looking into the F4 custom windshield. Thanks for the tip. Ride Safe!

    32:46 It is why I ride alone and only gas-up when I take my first break at ~500 kms leaving me with another 100 kms to go as a back-up till the gas tank runs dry. The 129 is supposed to be the "twisty" road from what I have read and at 225 kms from Chapleau to Thessalon, not a concern gas-wise for any motorcycle. Well we'll see how good the 129 is as I driven some extremely twisty roads overseas. If you want remoteness, try the Trans Labrador Highway which I have heard is paved now. Back in 2003 when I drove it, you were looking at 1100 kms of gravel, some of it very loose if a grader went by.

  • @baldandbiking
    @baldandbiking 2 года назад +1

    Nice to come across your video, enjoyed the trip with you. You were concerned about gravel and when going up north there is always going to be gravel at some point due to all the construction that never ends. How is the Goldwing on gravel? Just so you know it's pronounced "Soo Saint Marie". How do you like travelling with a group? I can see there would be pros and cons. What you did was not the circle tour, it was the Grand Algoma Tour. The Circle tour goes right around Lake Superior and through Michigan. Anyway looks like you had some good weather for the trip North out of the Soo, feel lucky because along that stretch it usually is raining. 3 degrees! That's brutal for highway driving. Looks like you went a little early in the year for that trip. I'm guessing early June? I love around 22:30 "looks like he wants to race" *sport mode Goldwing* "Oh guess he doesn't want to race... gee, I lost him behind me somewhere" haha!

    • @AmerSheikh
      @AmerSheikh  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for stopping by. I feel be seeing a lot when I plan to travel to Arctic Ocean this year summer if all goes well. The Goldwing is pretty good on gravel it's just not meant to ride on gravel but I have been on some patches of 5km+ on Goldwing with no issues at all. I know the pronunciation, it's just that many of my viewers are outside Canada and it's hard for them to pronounce it. Thank you for pointing that out. I like traveling with a group just depends who I am traveling with. If you ask me personally I like to travel solo as I like to record my journey and I like to give everyplace I stop it's time so I don't miss out on places to visit. I didn't know about the circle tour but would love to do it at some point. I am sure now that things have opened up it will be a great tour in summer. Ride Safe :)

    Nice video Amer sahib. LOL, I have done this trip on my BMW R18 classic First Edition a bike with a clutch. Just a humble suggestion, Sault St Marie is pronounced "Soo st Marie" not "salt st marie". Safe riding brother. A nice effort.

      Thank you...must be a beautiful trip. Thank you for your suggestion. I did mention in my video how it's pronounced but since most of my views are from out of Canada it's better for them to understand the easy way. Ride Safe!

    What time of year was this ride? I would think in June but for temps that cold it sounds like it must have been as early as April.

      This was end of May this year but it's typically cold up there in Wawa whenever I have visited that place.

      Thank you. I have an external mic connected to my GoPro. The mic is clipped inside my helmet. I have made a video showing that setup before and will link it for you here ruclips.net/video/wYjnFJAxsZw/видео.html My setup now is slightly different as I use a different mount for helmet to attach my GoPro but good to get an idea.
