I really appreciate your honest way of reviewing - very refreshing.

Not sure if ya'll are aware but most of the dining facilities at CSR are run by an outside company. It's the same company that runs establishments in the Mexico Pavillion in WS. That helps explain the difference in food quality and prices.

I figured that was the case for the table service, but I wouldn't think so for the quick service/food court. But I don't know. 🤷‍♀️

My company is sending us to Coronado Springs this coming fall. Never been to Orlando before.
I can't wait to see the facilities. Since we are part of a huge company and doing the convention, our food will no doubt be provided for the week we are there OTHER than the day of arrival. We (our company) will be doing work indoors, not invading the outside space, at all. Chilling afterward, of course.
This looks super peaceful, which is what introverts like me NEED! hahaha

We really loved our stay there. We were in the back away from everything except the bus stop which was super convenient. It was perfect for us. 👍

Yes! It's not the resort I'd choose if doing the parks for sure-especially with no car! We stayed in the tower once when my daughter had a competition in Orlando just because I wanted to be on property-and it was gorgeous for sure. But it's definitely not "magical". I also saw one RUclipsr find that he did miss the bus because his Cabanas were the last to be picked up and it was full already. So he just walked to the first stop the next day to ensure his spot!

Yes, that's definitely something that can happen. . . especially at resorts that have multiple stops. We're had it happen to us and we've done the same thing. It's an extra step, but can definitely be worth it if you're in that position.

As two "free range adults", we love Coronado partially because there convention center seems to attract more adults than kids so we don't feel quite as overwhelmed by all the littles. This is Disney, there are plenty of littles everywhere but the added adults from conventions makes it feel a little less like staying in a day care. 😊
Interesting that we never once noticed that the food prices were higher than other resorts. I think, as locals/frequent flyers you are uniquely equipped to be able to notice things like that. When we're on vacation at WDW we just assume so for prices are going to be kind of ridiculous.... And since we go only every other year or so we don't exactly recall prices from one trip to the next.

And as I typed that I was again struck by the strange position we find ourselves in .... Loving WDW but wishing there were fewer kids makes no sense, we know. 🤯

I stayed in a water view Grand Destino Tower room a few years ago (not at a convention). Something I noticed was the lack of Disney branding at the resort as opposed to a lot of the other Disney resorts. Maybe a few instances, but it's almost as if they were intentionally hiding it... and maybe some people like it that way. At least in your room they had 3 Caballeros sprinkled in; in the tower it was absent except for some hidden mickeys in hallway carpeting. The views from the room were incredible with Expedition Everest and other parts of Animal Kingdom in view, and at night overlooking the water and resort with the beautiful lighting. But the downsides do outweigh the upsides to CSR. Unless you are there for business, I won't stay there again. Great review video!!

First of all, I totally understand where you're coming from with the whole loving Disney but not always loving being surrounded by kids. It makes sense. . . . I got you. . . . 😉
We loved the resort for the same reasons you did. The atmosphere and the ambiance. It felt upscale and romantic in spots, which we loved. The thing that killed the vibe for us was the number of people doing business around the resort, specifically in those spots we were hoping to enjoy, during our stay. This, of course, could easily be a timing issue. 🤷 It's one of the reasons we feel very conflicted about this resort though. . .
The procing is another one of those things that we wouldn't have necessarily noticed if we were just passing through, though we would have undoubtedly felt like it was overpriced, which is something that would be easy to brush off it you are anticipating Disney being overpriced anyway. Fair point. That's one of the reasons that we make a point to talk about it though, just so people can be prepared.
Question for you though, if you don't mind me asking: Did you opt for Disney Transportation to get around or were you driving yourself? What were our thoughts compared to some other places you've stayed?

This is what I liked about Coronado..It's not a place for young kids, and you aren't assaulted by constant Disney theming. You can also get away from everyone and just walk around the lake w/o being should to shoulder. Ideal for introverts to take a breath. I didn't go in tower very often and honestly never even thought about it. Also never thought about food prices because Disney is expensive no mater what. Next time we go, we are going to get snacks, drinks, water and keep in our room.
