      Usually OVA (direct-to-video) has more budget for the animation and details than tv anime. Some OVAs even have movie level animation. Worth waiting for months and even years for the next episode.

    It is awesome how Patlabor really thinks about the kinetics and mechanics of a giant mech.

    • @Joshua_N-A
      @Joshua_N-A 9 месяцев назад +7

      Not to mention the size. Most Labors don't make it pass 10 meters tall. The flared legs on the Ingram was design such a way to give it a lower center of gravity considering its height. For some reason small mechs intrigues me.

    Fantastic piloting by Kanuka and Noa as usual, yet SV2 needed 3 Ingrams to decisively take down the Griffon.

      Eh, I don’t see it as so bad for the peacemaker to loose. Bud is the superior pilot and has the superior machine. As with the previous rounds of Ingram vs Griffon it is the teamwork that helps Noa and evens the field.

      @@christopherbrown6523 peacemakers and asura system both has high responsive that cause them to dodge and move faster, different is peacemaker has to evade collateral damage as well, which utsumi figured out and force them to terminate the peacemakers system thus losing their advance response system making them lose against asura system.
      while fighting NOA, she keeps surviving without any system, and bud get pissed ( along with others keep bothering him ) so he cut off the asura system, thus making the even field for noa, but on even field, noa can punch griffon.

      In the Manga, Ota was more responsible, and was more willing to listen to both his spotter and his boss.
      Yeah, he was still VERY Gung-Ho, but he was also at least still willing to curb his aggression until it matters... And he wasn't willing to cause needless collateral. (Much of the time, his Patlabor was more likely to get severely damaged before he intentionally tore up public property to pursue an enemy Labor. If damage was done by a labor, it would have been because of the criminal who either stole a labor, or had a labor to march around and deal damage, not because Ota got trigger happy.)

    • @EpicBlargman
      @EpicBlargman  11 месяцев назад +17

      Basically the series takes place in an alternate universe 1999. Patlabor was suppose to be a somewhat more "realistic" take on mecha. The mechs are called Labors, they were created to speed up construction projects but branched out to other services (Police, Fire Department, Military)
      In lore upscaled weapons are easier to make however there is one Labor mecha in the tv series that is experimental, it runs on AI and uses an Ionizing Laser beam weapon, its called the "Phantom"

    • @twokool4skool129
      @twokool4skool129 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@EpicBlargman I know, that's why it's funny. Because you can't simply upscale conventional guns. Physics doesn't work that way. A giant functioning revolver like that would either shatter or have a bullet too weak to do anything. The real world gun is the least believable part of the show.
