For an explanation of what's going on, this is the second fight against Doopliss while having Double Pain and Return Postage (from doing a Pre-Hooktail Pit of 100 Trials run) equipped, as well as having a bunch of Spite Pouches.
Conveniently, Spite Pouches stack with Return Postage. This lets me do a lot of damage by not attacking... at all... :3

This entire video is a visual metaphor on how we're our own worst enemies, and how by trying to pointlessly attack our own shadows, the habits and parts of ourselves we try and hide, we end up destroying ourselves and hurt those around us, even as friends and family do everything they can to support and help us instead of us embracing and accepting the bad aspects of ourselves and learning to overcome them.

Things you need for this build:
-Zero Fucks
-Alot of spare time for grinding
-The A button and joystick
Just do the Pit of 100 Trials once and you're all good!
doing the pit even once gives more than enough Star points to become basically a god.
This is great. So much time wasted to get all those special items and badges needed (mainly Return Postage) but a decently funny way to beat a boss.
It was worth it!

I've done it before, it makes the fight more intense and engaging. I like to do it as a "you thought I was nothing without them? let me show you who the TRUE superstar is!"

Silas vs Games when I first played the game at like age 10.... HP was all I upgraded because I never thought to experiment with badges and had very little FP. I had around 100 HP when I got to Grodus I couldn’t win. Every boss was a war of attrition and took like 15 minutes. Oh and the kicker is that first time playing I didn’t read the text that told you to get the cricket badge to beat hooktail. I beat her after like 10 tries and I had like 10 FP 25-30 HP and 3 BP....... in case you didn’t notice I wasn’t a very observant kid when playing the game.

nowadays... pretty good I ain't a speed runner though. those peeps are GODLIKE I just understand the games mechanics and how to exploit them. nowadays when I play the game in my freetime I do specialty runs like hammer only and Jump only. I've done like 3 runs where I didn't upgrade my hp although I might do one where I don't abuse danger Mario.
oh and the first time I did the pit of 100 trials I did it legit without danger Mario. so nowadays I feel justified. OH MAYBE I SHOULD DO A RUN WHERE I DON'T UPGRADE MY PARTNERS...…(I might regret that cause god that'll be difficult.)

true story, i was battling some normal enemies and i had the debug badge equipped, and I used goombella's multibonk on one of the enemies to speed it up, but i forgot about how they don't stop attacking even if the enemies' health has reached zero, so i pretty much softlocked the game

When I got to dupliss my 3rd time playing the game, I forgot to heal at the healing block, and when dooplis copied me, he ended up with my 2hp and the whole fight ended in like, 4 turns.

Rais Ryhas I don’t know the exact numbers. But when I entered the fight, Mario was leaning over, heaving, with the hp bar beeping like it does when your about to die. I had around 5hp
I entered the boss fight like this.
When dooplis copied me, he was leaning over, heaving, as if he also copied my low HP status.
The fight ended after 5 turns. It was comically easy, and I was shocked at how my forgetting to heal ended up helping me.

I've beaten him a few times. I'm pretty sure that the fight never does that. Even so, there haven't been any videos showing that.

How to really do it: hack the game to make a triple pain badge
Actually, I heard somewhere that using two Double Pain badges makes you receive triple damage.
Yeah it’s true. If you add in another Double Pain badge you will (kind of) receive triple damage. Double Pain adds an additional anount of the final damage dealt(after defense boosts, guarding etc). Because DP stacks the final damage dealt rather than increasing enemy attack power, defence-boosting badges and guarding are worth a lot more when DP is equipped because they affect each DP badge seperately. If you have three DP badges equipped and one Defence Plus badge you’re actually receiving three boosts in defence. DP badges also don’t stack with each other, so if the final damage dealt by an enemy is two for example, you will receive 6 damage.
This is legit a gameplay equivalent of "Good job you played yourself."

I know this is 3 years too late to help this guy, but for anyone else playing this game, when doing sweet treat, 3 poison mushrooms appear every time, so once all three pass by, just spam throws to hit everything

Hold up so im playing the remake rn and i just saw there is no save block before the boss this game was really unforgiving back then i can see why ppl tend to refer too it when backtracking comes up that and also no back tracking shortcut pipe in chapter 4 mind you you still have to back track to unlock it

I just got it all naturally from beating the Pit of 100 Trials before fighting Hooktail. You get to around level 21-23 when doing the pit before Hooktail, and you get Return Postage at the bottom of it after beating Bonetail. You can buy Double Pain from Charlieton after beating Chapter 1. And then you can buy Spite Pouches in the Twilight Town store.
How difficult was it to do the pit before hooktail?
@@josemaverick5254 It was a bit hard when learning how to do it, but once you understand the strategies to get through the later floors of the Pit, it's not too bad. Your superguards have to be on point, especially against Bonetail since your main sources of damage are gonna be Mega Rush P and/or Fire Drive.

Nah, you can beat him really early by abusing defense piercing badges like fire drive and pierce hammer. And if you use glitches, you can get to the pit in prologue and win there.
