How did Kanye manage to get 8-10 of my favorite songs of all time on one album? It’s insane. I listen to so much music, all sorts of genres nowadays and review music in my free time and I’ve yet to find anything I like as much as yeezus

To your pops saying if it came out today as his first album would people be fans - the answer is 100% yes. The most popular rap right now is all largely influenced by Yeezus and that sound. That sound is what is popular now and Ye was doing it in 2013 to an even higher level. And if this was somebodies first album people's mind's would be blown and it would be considered one of thebest debut records ever.

This album has a lot of outrageous sounds yet also sounds very barren and skeletal. It’s a tough one to get into. But I think the fact that it’s stripped back and less ambitious creates more of an emphasis on every one of Kanye’s words. And what he’s saying is a super interesting meditation on egoism and the warped life a celebrity lives. Especially on a filthy, disgusting track like I’m In It where he just becomes violently horny. The fact that he’s able to admit his flaws to that extent to me shows that Kanye is just such an authentic human being.
