    Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I really loved your explanation! I have never practiced ballet but I have wondered about how their thought process worked. They are always so elegant and I am NOT!!….. thanks

    Thank you! I'm working on perfecting a solo and one of the small details my teacher pointed out was that I had "taco hands." 😂😂

    Yesss thank you I needed this!! My dance teacher recommended that I start ballet again at 14 after 10 years and I’m joining a more advanced class so I don’t want to be a complete beginner

      @@squiggle.64 Oh yay! I've been doing modern dancing for a while and I absolutely love it. I'm thinking I might look into tap cause it looks really fun. Of corse I'm still doing ballet and I do love it too but modern is where my heart is.

    Great. 2:08 is how I teach fingers but I don't say push thumb towards middle finger, because that bulges the muscle too much under the thumb. I just say put the thumb under the index finger which is where you have it.

    • @HolisticBallet
      @HolisticBallet  2 года назад

      Thanks for your comment. I checked whether I said 'push thumb' because that's definitely not what I would have wanted to say. I am glad, I did not, I said 'move the thumb slightly, slightly towards the middle finger'. But I like your wording to put (or place) the thumb under the middle finger too.

      @GeorgeOu 2 года назад +1

      @@HolisticBallet Sorry I misspoke. You did say slightly. I just like to keep that thumb under index finger to keep it relaxed. That seems to be where you are placed and it looks great.

    What are your thoughts on moving the fingers while dancing?

    • @HolisticBallet
      @HolisticBallet  Год назад

      This is an unusual question. Could you tell me more about how come you are asking it?
      I'd say, yes, do move the finger if you can while dancing. Most people have too much tension in their fingers, which would make moving them a great reminder not to stabilise themselves with their hands and fingers.
      In any case, I think the movements would be very small and therefore not an issue.
