This was very clear about what happens with which arm in back attack - thanks very much. As a request, please could you do a video about concepts in leg lock defense? How to keep your legs safe in general, and how to escape from leg locks in general. For those of us who are not leg-lock experts, it's pretty confusing when you're wrestling someone who is. Thanks again for the great content.
His jokes are so funny because he says them like it’s just part of the voice over tutorial. He doesn’t change his tone lol it’s hilarious.
"you see how pissed Nikki's face looks, it's a look I'm quite familiar with"
Lol i can relate
😅
Awesome job putting rolling footage examples in after the tips.
Thanks! It's awesome that the more rolling footage I get the more I'll have to work with to make these. Adds an exciting new element for the videos!
I don't have enough words to describe how amazing this channel is
all great tips! lightbulb moments: control the WRIST, prioritize a good bite (triangle and head and arm)
Also on the Americana finish, I like to do a "reverse motor bike rev," rolling your knuckles down towards the mat, makes it even tighter! Was a big game changer for me!
A great detail as well!
Thanks for tip number 9. I could rarely finish arm bars and even stopped attempting them. I saw this a month ago and have been grabbing the leg like you showed and finishing around 90% of my attempts! Thank you for all the knowledge!
Awesome! Love hearing that people use my tips. Thank you for sharing with me! 🙏
The live rolling footage worked in is key. Really bridges the gap between theory and practice. Also helps you see what's the most important tip/step vs things that are helpful but maybe not necessary
Thanks man I agree I think the rolling footage really adds a whole new level to the videos 🙂🙏
The gap in the triangle choke was definitely a lightbulb moment. Thanks for all your tips!
My pleasure! Glad it helps 🙂
this was an amazing video, so much value thank you for sharing!!
Awesome video, will definitely be one that I refer back to often! Thanks Jordan, keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻
Lots of great stuff here. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Great detail, thanks, Jordan!
Seriously, this channel is gold. Thank you.
This perhaps your best vid yet, really well thought out and put together. Of course Niki’s the icing on this cake!!
Excellent talk through. Very helpful 👍
Thank you
I really like these "tips" format! short and right on point.... it all comes down to details, details, details...
Thank you! I'm going to do another Tips video real soon!
Thanks a lot, these videos are by far the best I have found on youtube so far. I'm definitely gonna try the leg grab from mount next time I find myself in that lucky situation, since I have long, flexible, but not very strong arms.
Love the channel. great detailed instructions. best Bjj videos on youtube. Slow well explained with the voiceover. Thank you
So kind of you!! Thanks man. Made my day! New video up tomorrow!
Excellent video! Really great to have so many little details to refresh the memory in one video. Saves a lot of time researching individual tutorials. Thanks for sharing some knowledge with us in such a simple manner.
Thanks, Emmet. I'm happy it's been of help to you and your Jiujitsu!
Can't wait to try the triangle part! I'm long limbed and everybody always assume I got dangerous triangles but I rarely go for them since I feel I always gett stacked or that they quickly go around "the corner" as you showed.
Should definitely help! I've got a bad neck but still for triangles all the time because I know how to avoid the stack, and the pass, using what I showed 🙂. You definitely gotta utilize those long legs and hit more triangles!
Unbelivable video. right to the point. super helpful once again
Thank you!!
👊 love the sliding the thumb in first for the RNC !! Great tips 😁
3:12 Tip 7 is absolute gold. Thanks for these videos.
Your voice is so soothing while you narrarte how to murder with efficiency and I am here for it.
Thank you for making this video. I enjoy your channel
“Let’s hope that was just a good choke and not covid”💀💀Got the life choked out of me and next day could completely understand that sore throat pain😭
I've had the same. It sucks 😩
Hey Jordan, so much info on this video I had to buy the BJJ Fanatics No-Gi chokes to support the man, the myth, the legend. Great work.😊
I appreciate that so much. Thank you!
this is valuable information! The back attacks part was very helpful. Being a whitebelt I'm just focused on a few submissions and no lower body submissions yet so I'm mostly working on triangles, armbars, omoplatas, collar chokes, kimuras, and rnc for now.
Thanks man! I always trap arms when I have the back. It's way to hard to submit someone when it's 2 arms vs 2 arms. And I don't wanna work hard lol. Glad you'll be able to utilize the tips 🤙
Great job! You weren't lying when you said you had a great video lined up for today!
Thanks man! I'm really happy with the way this one turned out 🙂
These are great! Love how you do these videos.
Thanks Efran! 👊
Thank you
Great video. The shots and explanations are perfect.
Thanks!
Great videos, demonstrations and commentary! I'm a 4 a 4 stripe white belt at age 57 and I can use all of the tips/strategies I can get. Thank you. I'm going to spread the word with the guys where I train in NY. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! Greeting from your neighbours up north :) and thanks for spreading the word!! :)
Awesome tips! I like how you put a twister in there too 😎
One of my favourite subs! 😁
Love these. Jordan, you are so thorough. Could we be looking forward to you making some one escapes? Being early vs late, etc? Sometimes I know what to do, when I'm in the scenario, but I can't execute because I don't know whT to do first.
Thanks man and definitely! I've got a really good idea to show escapes. Especially early. Early escapes are something I'm really good at since I have very movement/scramble based game. Just been tying to find the time to make it but it'll be worth the wait! 😁
I love these straight-forward tips and how you explain things. #16 Pinching the shoulder down for the kimura is something I can use right away. I go for that kimura from half/full-guard all the time, but often I'm pushing their arm way out into the air and not close to their body. It's difficult to finish and feels really inefficient. Pinching down is definitely an "aha" moment for me.
Such a a great detail! I'm glad that one resonated with you 🙂
This was an extremely helpful video, I like this format.
Thanks man! I gotta make another tip video real soon 🙂
Great video! Excellent little tips! Well done.
Thanks! Glad you liked it 👊
fantastico muchas gracias
Congrats on another great and informative video...and for crossing the 4K subscriber mark. 🎉👏👊
Thanks man! Heading towards 5k now 😁 Will be a huge milestone for me!
Another banger! Thanks Jordan!
Glad you liked it! I was excited to upload it ☺️
@02:45 LOL! Nikki looked at you like "Gone Girl"...🤣🤣🤣
Glad I found your channel dude! Great videos
Thanks man! I'm glad you did too 🙂
You share some amazing content. I appreciate it. Could you share some tips for older players?
Your rolling commentary is also on point. 🙌🏼🤙🏼
Thanks man! I have some ideas for older grapplers. Will definitely make that content soon!
“Look how pissed Nikki looks in this shot, it’s a look I’m quite familiar with.” Lmao.
That pinching the arm during the kimura seems really good, I will do it tomorrow
2:45 it’s the look I’m quite familiar with 😂😂😂 the subtle jokes love it
Great video Jordan! 👊
Thanks man! 👊
Thx
Shoutout to Nikki for being so patient
She definitely takes one for the team in these videos lol
Thank you again for another awesome video. As a white belt hoping to get to blue soon, your channel has been gold!!
Thanks man! Glad to hear my channel is a good resource 🙂 Let me know when you do get that blue! You got this 💪💪
This is a fantastic video.
Thank you 🙏
I like this video, very informative
Glad you liked it!
Great video !
Thank you!
This is so helpful. I am a white with one stripe and I have been using your tips and have succeeded. I even tapped a blue belt.
Thank you Coach Jordan!
That's so awesome man. I used to love tapping out the high belts. Always had to contain my excitement 😅
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu I agree! I retain it in class and even after class. I just really sincerely wanted to thank you for your instruction. I am definately gonna share this with my gym so we all benefit!
Thanks Professor! I really need that cross-collar choke tip!
Glad it could help! 🙂
You're a friggin beast bro!!
Thanks man 🙏👊
damn dude nice bars, your narration lines up with the rhythm of the music
I love your subtle jokes in these videos haha. Thanks for these videos, I'm studying hard!
Haha thanks!! 🙏👊
Muito obrigado por esses vídeos! Oss! 🔥🔥🔥
De nada e obrigado! 🙏
I will watch this video pretty much everyday until ill be able to put out all of these moves in action. Your knowledge and teaching is amazing thank you and keep up with that good content!
Thank you! Glad you find value from watching them 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu youre so nice man. much love thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience 🙏
Triangle arm bar leg crossing 💡
All bricked up 😉
the darce tip was great
Thanks!
Using your leg grab tip for arm bars my arm bar success rate went from about a 20-30% to about 80%
Weird but cool is exactly the kind of thing I like
1:15 “prison rules” lol 😆
👊
I like your tattoos. Cool video btw helpful even tho I do judo. I also like nicki's hairstyles
Love the small details in each tip. I remember learning tip 4 at purple belt, pulling the lapel slack out with the non choking hand, that was a total game changer for me.
Also, would you be able to add a north south instructional to your queue? I'm curious to see how you would break the move down. I struggle with the opponent turning. Also, I lose the ns choke when big guys counter with a neck attack. The counter doesn't get the tap but it usually gives them the space to escape.
I'm going to do a side control escape video next! I'll put north south in there too. Generally I'll either try and use my flexibility to take the back, or starting turning inwards to grab a leg and wrestle. Will be clearer when I make the video :) Thanks for the suggestion!
I actually never go for north south chokes for the same reason you mentioned. Some guys are tricky from the bottom, and its a tough choke to sink in perfect anyways. Much better options from N/S to go for imo.
100% will be watching for crossing the legs the wrong way on the tri-armbar for that escape to side control, that never occurred to me before and i may try and bait someone to armbar me to see if i can practice that escape tonight. wonder how many times ive missed that...
Definitely! It's one of the reasons for lower belts I generally recommend against switching to the armbar unless last resort. Better to stick with the triangle unless the person is good and aware of how to armbar without risking the pass 🙂
really need to do the first one for the back take. lose the position so much. so many missed subs not feeding thje collar. grabbing the shin for a triangle is one thing ive been missing for so long and then turning so i can get the top leg deep
God fucking damn great tips esp about the triangle
Another great tutorial
Thanks! 😁
0:14 LOL. But the top arm bottom arm etc. is like a whole instructional to me and I didn't follow very well. I'm going to have to watch that a few more times to understand which arm to grab and when. Thank you for another great video!
Check Blue Belt Smash episode 2 and 3 and you'll see it in more detail and performed a bunch of times 🙂
Oss from Australia, have shared with my club.
Thank man! I appreciate the share 🙂
Thanks for all the videos. This style of content with commentary added in post is probably a lot more time consuming to make but it really ups the quality compared to other channels where you can barely hear the person explaining a technique while they're doing it.
For tip 9 Mounted armbar you shot your foot underneath the far arm to get into S-mount (when demonstrating the leg over head first variation). Then in the grabbing their leg first demo, you didn't get the foot underneath the far arm. Was this just to show that it can be quicker with less set up, or is getting the foot there not really necessary? I ask because I always have trouble getting underneath their tricep with my foot when going into S-mount. Looking forward to trying your way, thanks again.
It takes so much longer it's basically a part time job making these lol. More work than I expected when I made the channel but worth it to hear people are enjoying and learning 🙂
Ya you definitely don't need the leg under the far arm with my style, hooking the leg. Another huge benefit of grabbing the leg. You don't need to be fully in a deep perfect position to go for it. Only like half the "S" is really needed 🙂
Which leg to cross over the other! Really helps thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Light bulb moment...pinching down on the opponent's shoulder with your top elbow when finishing the kimura.
🙌
Glad it resonated with you 🙏
Tip 5 and 10, pretty much pin pointed what I do wrong on those LOL.
Haha perfect, glad to hear those will help!
I think the triangle dance move you did is called the party house
Hahaha look how pissed Nicky looks 2:43
Tought you shouldn't cross your legs when taking the back to evoid the ankle thing. Why is it different here ?
Thanks for the great channel by the way 🙌
lifting the nose has me cracking up lol
Great content man! Got any ideas for solo drilling at home? In Australia we are still in lockdown and can’t go to the gym, it sucks haha
Wish I had some! Sorry man I've never really done solo drills but I'll do my best to think of some and make a video if I can think of enough content 🙂 Sucks you guys are shut down. That was us here in Canada for almost the whole time up until recently. Hope you guys are able to get back training again soon 😩
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu thanks for replying man! I’ll just keep watching your videos until we reopen 🤙🏻
@@loza-brah5456 no problem. That's a great idea too!
the leg cross on the armbar is money!
video about safe ways to learn and practice heel hooks would be cool.... just sayin :)
That's a great idea. Heal hooks are so misunderstood. They don't need to be so feared.
👊🏼👏🏼
Hey have you ever thought about people sending videos and you coaching views as a membership rewards
Yepp I do that on my patreon 🙂
Prison rules lol 😂. Nice one.
😅
👊
I got yelled at by a brown belt for grabbing the leg and sitting back before my leg was over the head 😊 (going for an armbar). I didn’t want to be that white belt who says “but this guy on RUclips says…” so I just ate it and moved on.
Hahaha good call! If there's one phrase upper belts hate the most, it's that 😅
Look at Nikki's face, a look I'm quite familiar with 🤣 2:45
Hahaha married life
Arm Triangle - Bicep to neck 💡
👊🏻
So top arm with the top arm and then top arm on there top arm along with there top arm with our bottom arm CHECK!
Close but not quite!
🤙
🤙
Coutch let me ask please Do these moves work with someone who is fluent in wing chun or jet ken do Because he's going to kick you and punch you very hard Does it really work? Or it depends How to deal with the situation How I really i don't know
The same way bjj people generally arent regularly trained to deal with striking arts (like the ones u mentioned), people from those martial arts are generally very technically deficient in the ground game! As seen in UFC 1 if people who grapple well have a reliable takedown , they win that exchange! Of course, assuming they dont get knocked out before they can close the distance
Tldr: if you have a good ground game and the opponent doesnt, you generally win so long as you take the fight to the ground and minimize damage sustained in doing that process 🙏
Do you still catch some upperbelts with the americana ?????????
Yepp! Still an effective move at all levels 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu o i can stop feeling ashame and guilty when a high level comp grappler taps me with an americana ? Ok
🤛🏼
