This is an odd question but what happens if the defendants don’t pay up after the verdict is decided against them. Will the courts sanction the defendants some how or will they be subject to losing their medical license ?? I’m just curious what teeth does the decision hold. Thx for any response , have you ever seen the defendants just not pay??
New York has a CPLR section that allows you to enforce the judgment or settlement. They can’t just not pay. You can enter a judgment and then start collections by taking funds from their bank accounts. I’ve never seen defendants not pay especially if they have insurance
