The Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 is a full-sized luxury performance car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz from 1968 to 1972. The car mated the 6.3L M110 V8 from the Mercedes-Benz 600 Großer with the body and chassis of the W109 300 SEL. When initially released, the 300 SEL 6.3 was the world's fastest four-door car. 6,526 were produced. While the car was not intended for motorsports, five 300 SEL 6.3s were modified into 300 SEL 6.8s by AMG, which was at the time a small tuning company founded by ex-Mercedes-Benz engineers; this effectively makes the car the first AMG car. These cars were nicknamed the "Red Pig" (German: Rote Sau). The cars had short-lived but fairly successful racing careers due to unsuitable tires or rule changes prohibiting the cars from racing. One of the cars was subsequently sold to Matra to test aircraft landing gear.

Shame about the M116 engine!

The red 🐖
The car looks nice, but significant „details“ are incorrect. Just to list a few: the engine is an M116 or M117, not the originals M100 6.3 bored to 6.8. One can assume the base car is either a 280SEL or 300SEL with either 3.5 or 4.5 engine. The wheels, later available from AMG for road cars. The original had the 300SEL sign positioned on the right side of the trunk lid and the 6.3 sign on the left. The tach belongs in its original position in the instrument cluster replacing the clock, etc. So many red pig lookalikes have surfaced during the past years. The main problem is sourcing the correct wheels. Other issues seem to neglect or ignorance of the true features of the original. I‘m aware of only one outfit that is in a position to correctly reproduce a red pig including the wheels: Bischof Klassik Werkstatt in Hanau, Germany.
It could have been the S65 and S73 AMG of it’s day………
If only it was put in production (albeit, in smaller, more limited and fewer numbers…….just like the S65 and S73 that spiritually succeeded it)
Nice feel like I'm in old ninja turtle game with music cool tho
